Poorly run... people doing the swab didn't change gloves between people. No checking of IDs. Sharing pens to label envelopes. People standing less than 6 feet while waiting inside building for results. No COVID procedures being followed. So concerned I got COVID from the testing performed on Friday night that I got another test done a few days after I returned home from tournament.

To whom it may concern: I’m sure many will complain about the wait before the test and the confusion on the part of the staff as to when the results came in. Our appointment was for 5:15; we weren’t tested, waiting in line, until until about 6;45. After the test we were told by one person we would receive results in about 20 minutes, but it also may take several hours in the opinion of another person, by a third person to leave & wait for results by text. These varying opinions were provided by people giving the test, ie., trying to help. We chose to leave and hope for the best, and did receive results by text, at about midnight. That all occurred, but in my opinion were no more than typical experiences that occur every day because the Coronavirus creates situations new to us every day. I very much appreciate the NCVA placing this protocol, of everyone being tested; they did their to keep us safe and implemented this safety protocol understanding that it would create inconveniences that couldn’t be predefined. Despite this the NCVA still did their best to keep us safe, knowing they would be criticized. I am grateful to the NCVA for holding this unique and wonderful tournament in the face of COVID-19, and doing it in a manner keeping participants and families healthy and safe. This was the most disorganized chaos from an organization. There was lack of communication, direction and clarity. It’s started with making us test prior to tournament and then making us re test by their people. There was no line management. Players were not always prioritized to the point my player almost missed her first game. What was the point of an appointment if they were not prioritized and kept? I over heard some employees telling a ref that it didn’t matter that his results weren’t in, he could still go Inside. Too many moving parts not enough people.

Horrible on top of awful. We got in line for our 7:42 appointment at 7:15 and had to wait 3 hours and 42 minutes to get tested. It was pitch black and very cold while we waited in line with our child. Do better.
