Scheduling was great but I still had to wait over 30 min beyond my appt time.   The medical assistant did not have good bedside manner.  My provider introduced himself by first name only and did not share or display his title which turned out to be Physician Assistant.  He prescribed an antibiotic that is not standard for strep throat for someone without a penicillin allergy.

Scheduling is easy and the staff is nice, typically no wait but I’m really questioning why I even went. The doctor barely checked me, quickly came in, gave a random diagnosis and left barely explaining anything. If someone comes in for congestion the least you can do is check their throat and lungs. It was rushed and I have no idea why, there were no other patients there.

The Nurse Practitioner exhibited a demeanor that seemed unprofessional and disengaged. She did not take enough time to address my questions and instead handed me the necessary paperwork, instructing me in an unpleasant and obnoxious tone to read it independently at home.

I’ve visited this location many times, and my son and I have always been treated with the utmost kindness. However, this visit was a very different experience. After waiting about 15 minutes, we were called in by a medical assistant who did not greet us or acknowledge us in any way—just a mumbled instruction that I had to ask her to repeat. She did not guide us to a room, so we assumed we should follow her. When she asked for the reason for our visit, I mentioned my son had a sore throat. Without any further discussion, she already had the COVID and strep tests in hand. I politely asked if she could provide some cold water for him after the swab to help soothe his throat, as I was certain he had strep, and my room-temperature water wouldn’t help. Rather than acknowledging my request, she pointed out that I already had a water bottle. I reiterated that I was specifically asking for cold water, if available. She then left and returned with a bottle of warm water. At that point, I simply thanked her and let it go. During the strep swab, she was excessively rough. I’m familiar with how a strep test is performed, and this was unnecessarily aggressive , she kept the swab in his throat for far too long and without any care for his discomfort. Her lack of empathy and bedside manner was glaring. If working with children isn’t something she is comfortable with, I would have preferred to be informed at the front desk. She made no effort to be accommodating or reassuring, which is especially concerning when dealing with a child in pain. On a positive note, the nurse practitioner we saw was wonderful. However, based on this experience, I truly feel that this medical assistant should not be working with children or anyone experiencing discomfort if she is unable to provide even basic compassion and professionalism.

Three unnecessary tests didn't tell them anything. They sent my son back to school and said he was fine. His condition was worsening and next day I had to takk him to another Doctor, a real professional, who listened to his chest and knew immediately that my son had pneumonia. IFC is a place with pseudo professionalism. I don't not recommend.
