I am absolutely beside myself at the complete ignorance of what just happened. I showed up for my appointment with my PHP. I had money to pay for the visit ready, plus $200.00 extra just in case. I was told there is a balance from a previous visit after insurance processing, the balance sounds incorrect. I told her I would pay for the visit today plus a little extra but I needed to check my EOB and talk to my insurance co. to determine the validity before I paid the charges. The last follow up after testing should have been much less. The billing department is also billing incorrectly for what the actual visit is-but I was told they have to bill that way. When you return for follow up/test results to a doctor ANYWHERE, it SHOULD NOT be billed as a NEW VISIT! I still need test results, new scrips and another doctors note for work. It is MY LEGAL RIGHT to check my EOB and to contact my insurance and have them handle the incorrect billing! They not only denied me my legal right to do this, they also denied me seeing my doctor. They can see plain as day on the computer that I have NEVER not paid or even paid late! NOT ONCE! I have no bill as of yet for this supposed new bill from last month, not normal. This is not a legal, nor even a reasonable way to do business. I drove WAY out of my way so I could see my PHP sooner for what I NEEDED. Ascent Urgent Care Clinic in Saline, at 140 S. Industrial, will deny you your legal Insurance rights and to see a doctor unjustifiably. I will never go there again. If a bill was due from last month, why have I not gotten a bill in the mail 2 weeks after the last visit, as always, if something comes in as extra after insurance is billed? Oh, but shut up and pay this bill or you can’t see the doctor!? The insurance company can sort it out! Insurance will wonder why I am turning this over to them without even receiving a bill for them to refer to! I have been over charged and triple billed many times now. Just shut up and pay or you can’t see a doctor is NOT OKAY! I will file more complaints in the meantime. Disgustingly unreasonable that I was turned away because I know I have rights!

(1) The staff were, to their credit, incredibly friendly, kind, and understanding. Until they realized they sewed me up with a large piece of glass still inside of me. (2) The medical service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I returned after the swelling went down and it then was obvious the job wasn’t done correctly, I was told they couldn’t do anything and to go to the ER. (3) This started a miserable period of time contacting multiple physicians, surgeons, etc. - as the ER saw the X-Rays of what they left in my arm and literally told me to go find a specialist, they didn’t want to touch that mess. (4) Week after week of being rescheduled and examined took weeks of my livelihood away and rendered my right arm nearly useless. (5) When I thought things were finally over, after - by sheer chance - being examined by a former employee of their’s in a different hospital system, it was revealed in no uncertain terms how common this is, and how shady this urgent care is. Everything from the manipulation of ratings on Google to just massive amounts of shoddy so-called medical practices outpoured. They were so upset by their experiences from previously being employed there, that they actively advocated on my behalf and I finally ended up in the OR and had the medical issue finally resolved. Gross negligence was typically the first term other physicians either outright said (or implied) whenever they reviewed what had transpired and how I was stuck without care, and with a dangerous foreign body sewn deep into my arm. Mentioning this urgent care generated nothing but what I could best describe as “This is what we’ve come to expect, you’re not alone.” - How scary is that? (6) Then, I got an unexpected bill, many weeks later, for just the first of 3 visits I had to make there - of which I was directly told at the time was covered by my insurance. That was the last straw. (7) When I had someone contact them regarding this, they desperately tried to flip it back on anyone but themselves. The person who they spoke with in “billing” could not have been more immature, evasive, aggressive, and flippant. They are not in the career they should be, and that’s incredibly apparent. Don’t be like me, don’t be fooled by their google reviews - this is not a place to go if you want any semblance of professional care. In 34 years, I’ve never been put in a worse situation, and then been subsequently billed for it and treated like trash.

I called ahead and specifically asked if they offered rapid COVID-19 tests. I was told they offered rapid tests. I arrived and the woman asked why I wanted a rapid test. I told her i was a healthcare provider. I DID NOT RECEIVE A RAPID COVID-19 TEST. I received a rapid ANTIBODY test. However, if I was not a healthcare provider I would most likely not know that I hadn't received the correct test. The sheet I received at the end of the test says "COVID-19 RAPID RESULT -- Your COVID-19 rapid result using capillary blood results came back as: IgM negative IgG negative"

I was seen for a potential fracture. After the xray I was told it was not broken and then received a call later in the evening that after the radiologust reviewed the xray, they did find a break. There was no change in care that I needed so this was not a big issue. I did ask for my xrays to be sent to my PCP which was never done.
