I left past review that was great to match my experience which is why I chose to come here when I injured myself. I don’t have health insurance so having an appointment with a regular doctor was not an option for me and I let them know that. Started with when I got there I have a severely sprained ankle with torn ligaments that was huge and swollen. I couldn’t walk at all. Only had my husband hold my hand while I hopped across the floor on 1 foot. The staff sat there and watched me. Didn’t bother to tell me maybe I could stop and they could bring me a wheelchair or anything like that. It wasn’t until I was breaking down a little bit at the counter trying to do paperwork that they brought me a wheelchair. Yes I made an appointment ahead of time with the note on what was coming in for. When I got called back, the nurse didn’t help me or push me in my wheelchair. Unfortunately, my husband had gone across the way to get us water because their water fountain was broken so she stood there and watched me struggle to get myself back into the room, I couldn’t make it through the doorway not once did she offered to help me. Just seemed annoyed that I was there. Very minimal conversation. When it was time for x-rays, the lady did help me back to the x-ray machine, but I realized after SHE DIDN’T PUT A LEAD VEST ON ME! She was being nicer though. The doctor was in my room less than three minutes to tell me it wasn’t broken and wrapped my ankle. I asked about a walking boot and she said they didn’t recommend it, which was fine. My reality was that I couldn’t walk at all and didn’t have a wheelchair or even a doctor to follow up with. I was googling where I could purchase some crutches since I couldn’t walk and then finally got the idea that maybe I could ask if they sold them since nobody offered any. When I asked, they seemed surprised and made sure to let me know it was gonna cost money that they weren’t free. Again understandable, but I guess I’m just used to doctors offices that offer you what you need to support you through your injury without you having to ask. They knew I couldn’t walk. Had I not asked I would’ve been hopping out of there the same way I hopped in on 1 foot holding my husband‘s hand. We waited a long time to be discharged not sure why considering we already had x-ray results and what not. The doctor never came back in so the nurse gave me my papers about what to do with an ankle sprain and we left. Girl at the desk was nice then. The doctor had mentioned that I should take ibuprofen to help with pain and swelling, so we headed to Kroger to buy some. While my husband was in the store, I was reading my paperwork and noticed that it said I was supposed to be taking 800 mg ibuprofens one pill three times a day. How am I supposed to do that if I don’t have any those are prescription only. I wish I would’ve started reading the paper right away, but I didn’t notice it until I had already been sitting in the car a while so I called the clinic back to find out if a prescription was placed to the pharmacy, I put on the paperwork and figured out that it was. Nobody told me I had a prescription sent to my pharmacy. They didn’t mention a prescription at all. Unfortunately, my pharmacy is on the opposite side of town so we headed that way frustrated with the time we waisted at the other store only to find out the doctor had made it to not available until the next day. I was in extreme pain. Why would it not start that day. The pharmacist took one look at me and and gave it to me anyway. Another frustration is having no insurance maybe I could have had more than 5 days worth. Anybody who deals with the sprained ankle knows that you’re in a lot of pain for much longer than five days. It’s not an addictive pain medication even a couple of weeks worth would be nice. They could use a lot of training and bedside manner (kindness/compassion)especially when you’re dealing with people that are sick and injured. Communication about prescriptions is important too. Just feels like they could care less about you as a patient.
