When I saw the AUC doctor on Sunday, he diagnosed an URI. But I woke up on Tuesday with my whole face hurting. I couldn’t see my PCP so returned to AUC. Dr. Ferrara diagnosed a sinus infection. We discussed that I’ve taken Amoxicillin for years, but he called me, later, because Sunday’s medical ass’t. put in my chart that I’m allergic to it. I appreciated his checking with me about that; however, the ass’t apparently didn’t record that I AM allergic to Augmentin, & turned out that’s what he prescribed. Augmentin gives me diarrhea. I didn’t know that what Dr. F. had prescribed was Augmentin because it just said Amoxicillin & Clavulanate Potassium on the bottle. I didn’t realize that was a generic. But when I saw my PCP, 2 days later, he explained I HAD gotten Augmentin, which was why I had loose stools. The only reason I didn’t have 100% diarrhea was because my GI doctor had just started me on 100% psyllium husk fiber. So, my AUC chart should be corrected. I CAN take Amoxicillin, ONLY; I CANNOT take .Augmentin.

I made a reservation in the morning and got a 10:00 time.  They were not busy so I was out by 10:30.  The Doctor listened to my issues and was very thoughtful in her response.  A great experience!

I have been going to Atlanta Urgent Care since they first came to Clairmont Road. Excellent care and doctors and have handled critical several emergencies for my family.  They are the best and I would not choose any other Urgent Care near me and we do have several choices within a few miles.
