I had cut my index finger with scissors , it was small but deep. I knew I needed a stitch or 2, nothing serious. I went here , it wasn’t busy at all , was called back. The Dr came in, looked at my finger, which had stopped bleeding and said, “ I don’t feel comfortable stitching this up” “ You need to go to the ER”. I replied,” why? It is a small cut” Dr said “ I think you hit an artery so you need special attention” I left and went to Sacred Heart Er, as instructed. After waiting quite a while, the nurse called me back. She looked at my finger and asked “ why didn’t you go to Urgent Care, this is not an emergency?” I replied, “I agree but the UC Dr said I had to. “ She said, “ they always send people here because they don’t feel like working”. She cleaned my finger gave me a couple stitches and I was on my way. Now.. a couple weeks later, not only do I have a book from the Urgent Care for $30, but I also have a bill from the ER at Sacred Heart for $1400!!! This is insane! I called spoke to the Urgent Care Manager, Savannah, she said oh no, I waived that bill. You are all good. I am not. This has caused me so much stress. I have insurance for a reason. I went to Urgent Care because this was NOT an emergency and my cut was very small and NOT life threatening. So, due to the unprofessional UC Dr. not feeling like stitching my cut , he sent me to Sacred Heart , waiting their time, for me to receive a $1400 bill.. plus a $30 bill from Urgent care Airport Rd. This is morally wrong and unfair and I refuse to pay this bill that Urgent Care staff could have prevented. Don’t go here.
