I woke up with a terrible earache. I had been to NextCare on Little Road in the past and it was always a good experience, so I made an appointment. The scheduling was easy and I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly. Front desk person was friendly and professional. I asked if there would be much of a wait. She said no, there was one patient in the back and the other person waiting was before me, so they would be calling me back soon.  I waited 5-10 minutes and the medical assistant called me back to a room . She was very friendly and professional. She said that she would let the doctor/PA  know I was waiting. I heard laughing and talking at the nurse station outside my room. After waiting about 45 minutes I opened the door and asked if the wait would be much longer. The PA Kendall Bishop snapped at me and said she would be with me when she could!!!! I waited another 30-minutes (all the while listening to Kendall Bishop laugh and chat with other staff). I opened the door and said I wasn’t feeling well and if I didn’t receive care soon,  I was leaving. Kendall replied, I’ll be in in a few minutes, but you are welcome to leave. She came in and announced that they are an urgent care facility and emergency patients are first priority.  I replied that I understood that, but she wasn’t dealing with an emergency and I didn’t appreciate having to wait 1.5 hours while she visited with staff. She was rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, condescending and dismissive!!! She looked in my ear and said you’re fine! She said she would send a prescription for antibiotics to my pharmacy. I will not return to this facility if she is on duty!!!

Dr. seems to genuinely care and is doing everything necessary to figure out what’s wrong and causing symptoms, rather than just prescribing some medicine to mask it and sending me on my way; was very refreshing, to say the least. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well. Highly recommend.

I start feeling a tickle in my throat and deep cough in my chest on Weds night. I progressively felt worse yesterday and left work to walk in. The  NP ordered a steroid shot and sent a couple scripts in that I started taking last evening, but I’ve been up and down since 2pm and feel worse than I did yesterday. I asked for a zpack bc at 49 years old I have experienced these symptoms in the past. She said it wasn’t necessary. Maybe she’s right, but I need something that is going to push me to feel better not worse.

I’ve been here three times for other people so today, when dealing with my own illness, I went to the same place. The waiting area is big so I don’t have to sit on top of other sick people, the wait times are always reasonable, the entire facility is clean, and the staff is always professional, kind, and warm.  Everyone I interacted with was wonderful. I’d definitely go here again when needed and will always recommend this place to anyone.
