Unbelievable level of care. Both PA’s were beyond thorough in diagnosing, treating and following up on my nine year old daughter’s pneumonia. We were in from out of town, and we wished Carbon in our home city was this good. This felt like concierge care. When we got back to our city, and I shared their labs and reports with our doctor, he was also blown away by the care. Carbon Carlsbad should be the flagship for Carbon Health and train everyone else.

Scheduled an appointment for 3:30. Wasn’t seen until 5:30 - there was no urgency. The PA acted annoyed that we were even there. I will NEVER return to this place!

Front desk staff was great. Had deliver tough news on 1hr+ wait time but was kind and honest. Doctor got the job done and but had poor beside manner and seemed defensive. Will go to another urgent care based on that. She seemed to want to argue with me over my question when I was hoping for an opinion answer. I was in pain and bummed that people think my dog bit me when he didn’t. I understand she has to report to make sure misbehaving dogs or dangerous dogs aren’t hurting anyone. I am lucky that is not my situation but understand protocol.

We are from out of town and made an appt for our 1.5 year old due to her tugging her ear and having a fever. I made this appt based on positive reviews from other people with children. Upon arrival the check in was smooth. However the MA that took her vitals (I don’t think she’s around kids a lot) she tried to use an adult clip pulse ox on my toddlers tiny finger so I requested a pedi one because a screaming toddler who’s yanking her finger out of it was not gonna give a result.  The PA was kind and attentive and in fact did say her ear was mildly red which could be an ear infection so she wrote us a script for Augmentin. I then asked her if she believed a swab would be necessary (flu, Covid, rsv etc) to which she replied and said no because the results don’t really mean anything due to no treatment available for any of them. I understand that there’s no treatment but a positive result would more than likely give the parent peace of mind of knowing the source of infection and kind of what to expect moving forward. Rsv being worse at day 5 or with the flu expecting a peak between day 2-4. While I understand that there is no treatment for either of those illnesses other than symptomatic treatment results can give parents peace of mind. I only say that because sometimes when kiddos show up to the ER with day 5 or 6 of continuous fevers with no known source, then the ER will do cultures etc. She did however offer the swabs and said I would have to check results online. At this point I kind of got a dismissive vibe about the whole thing so I declined and left. Overall the care was quick and efficient and like I said the provider was kind overall, but I wouldn’t bring my toddler back.

Another great experience here. I was very congested and the practitioner who met with me was very thorough. The wait time after I was taken to an exam room was pretty long but I realized she was dealing with a child in the next room so I figured that took longer than normal.  This is a very well-run place and the staff is always so kind and friendly. Highly recommend!

Scheduling was good as was check-in. Wait time even with appointment was unsatisfactory. Care was very good. I would return for future care.

Was seen for severe sore throat I’ve had for 5 days, agreed to run virus tests including Covid as well strep throat.  Also prescribed antibiotic in case.  Discovered later that no Covid test was administered only strep throat.  In order to protect my family I really wanted to rule out Covid.
