I went into CityMD for a burn treatment on 11-08-18 and the treating doctor, Dr. Lisa Better, did absolutely nothing to help me other then rubbing cream on my burn and giving me a tetanus shot. Less than 48 hours later, on 10-10-18, the blister started to turn white and I worried I had an infection. I then called CityMD Nanuet and spoke to a customer service representative, who I explained to that I had just been here less than 2 days prior and the cream wasn't doing anything. I also informed her I didn't have the money to afford an entire second visit. She strongly urged me to come back in because of the risk of infection and assured me I would NOT be charged for this "follow-up visit". I agreed and went immediately - as she instructed me - and assured me she would would speak with CityMD Nanuet. Upon arriving I confirmed that I would not be charged with the secretary, who told me to discuss that with the financial person following my visit. I did and they agreed they would make the note and that she had corresponded with the customer service rep I had spoke to over the phone. I met with Dr. Peter Zeien, who couldn't understand why Dr. Better would not have excised and cleaned the blister originally and saved me a second visit. He said the blister couldn't heal without being cut open and drained. In my opinion, it seemed to me like Dr. Better couldn't be bothered to deal with cutting open and cleaning the blister. A month later, I received two separate charges for the original and supposed "follow-up" visit I was assured multiple times I wouldn't be charged for. I have been in correspondence with the billing customer service rep, Kamal (Sp?), since 1-15-19 and have been shuffled to different offices without being allowed to speak to any type of supervisor who can help me solve this problem. The bill is now past the due date but Kamal has assured me that I will not be charged late fees or sent to collections, which I am not sure whether to believe or not based on my experience with CityMD customer service. It is now 2-6-19 and I got a call from Lashawn, from the Atlanta office, who told me there nothing she could do, and speak to Kamal again...... I have yet to speak to anyone who can help me after calling 4 times. If I am forced to pay this subsequent visit that I was promised I wouldn't be charged for, I will let it be known that CityMD flat out lied to me and are engaged in deceptive "bait and switch" billing practices and I will be filing with the Better Business Bureau. I would never go back there and deal with the hours of billing headaches I have from this! AVOID!
