What patients are saying...

I have never ever had a worse experience with a doctor's/urgent care ever in my life. I have used this City MD multiple times in the past because it is in my neighborhood, and EVERY time I am met with horrible, terrible, and paralyzing neglect. This place should really go under new management because their mission statement is to, "build a healthier and kinder community." This is in fact something they do not live by at the LES City MD. I went in terribly ill recently and they told me I had to see the doctor, and made me pay 30 dollars and wouldn't check if my second insurance would cover the rest. I went to see the doctor and Dr. Camp came in and would not listen to me at all. She came in and started to gaslight me and said I did not have a fever when I explained to her I woke up with a 101/ 38.8C fever. She finally said okay and said that both my flu and covid test came back negative and said, "good luck, there is nothing I can do for you" I asked if there is anything she could prescribe me to help with the pain, or cough, or difficulty breathing. She said nope, just Tylenol, fluids, and best wishes. She said, "I would check more but i'm not going to do that because that could get me sick and get everyone else sick." She said to come back tomorrow to get another covid test. The next day, still living in the fever, cold, cough, sweating, and hard of breathing, I make myself get to their doors at 8:30 in the morning. Anyway, I finally get in to get a covid test, to not see the doctor because I was not going to let them take 30 dollars from me for them to say "good luck." again. So I get pulled in for the test and I am met with a nurse that has no name tag and he is slightly cold on his affect. I tried to explain to him that I have symptoms and I was asked to get tested again today. Again, this nurse does not listen to me and doesn't read the note that I gave him. He says, "what is this?" in a tone that says "you expect me to read this?" So I tried to reiterate my story for him and he finally gets it. He tests me again for COVID and the Flu and COVID comes back negative but the Flu comes back positive. He says to me you flu came back positive and I told him I am thankful to hear that, that I can can something now to help me. The nurse then proceeds to say, "I am not a doctor but take this as some advice, you should really make sure you do things to beef up your immune system and watch your gut bacteria." And I looked at him with a perplexed eye. The doctor comes in, a different doctor and he comes in with a smile on his face, and with a condescending tone says, "well it looks like you have the flu." I said, "oh I know that, he just said that to me 3 minutes ago." And the doctor proceeds to explain to me that he cannot do anything for me and says to just drinks lots of fluids and get some rest. I asked, "please please, I am in a lot of pain, I am having difficulty breathing, is there anything you can prescribe me?" and he goes, "nope there is nothing I can do." So he proceeds to offer me a chest x-ray and I am thinking "oh god what is this going to cost me?" So the nurse starts to get the chest x-ray ready, and as a patient (on a budget) I ask him, "how much is this chest x-ray going to cost me?" "I don't know," the nurse says. "Can you ask?" I reply. The nurse suddenly throws the x-ray cover to me and huffs his way aggressively out of the room. He comes back and says, "It's going to be 225 without insurance." "I have 2 insurances, how much is it with insurance?" I said. "I don't know," he says coldly. "Well can you ask?" I desperately reply. "I don't know the answer to that question, you are going to have to call your insurance provider." Shocked to the fact that they cannot tell me how much anything will cost until AFTER I have a service. As I try to call my insurance provider, the nurse comes in again and says, "So you can like take your time but I am going ask you to leave so we can get another patient in here." I was like ok I guess. I call my insurance provider in the waiting room and they can't tell me an answer to how much a chest x-ray is because it's the weekend and that member services are not available. So this is when I start to cry, and the receptionist comes to me and asks me what is wrong. And I tried to explain to her that; -No one can prescribe anything, an viral like Tamiflu -No one can tell me how much a chest x-ray is -No one is listening to my concerns -The doctors do not care about the patients -The doctors refuse to prescribe me anything I left before my panic attack unfolded, however I just need them to know that I am person that needs to be treated like a human. And these doctors need to be giving care whenever needed. And that with MEDICAL COSTS, these are REAL questions pertaining to our real lives. You need to be able to see what services are going to cost AFTER insurance. I will never ever ever in my life will go back to that city MD ever again

Total waste of my time. PA couldn't do anything for me Friday. But she said someone would call me Monday with a referral to a specialist. Did I get that phone call? Of course not. Don't go to City MD on Delancey, go to Fulton Street instead. It's so much better.

It is unacceptable that after having been under a freezing day with a temperature of 23 degrees Fahrenheit, the "urgent care" tells you, "we are going just to take your name and phone number, and send you a message before your appointment." Is this serious? Why can this just be done online? This center is supposed to be a walk-in clinic. Please let the patient decide if they want to wait or come back, but don't make a person wait almost an hour in the middle of the cold to take their name and give him/her an appointment. It does not make sense! Appointments can be made online or through phones! I DO NOT live next to the "Urgent care" Walk-in" I can't be waiting for almost an hour to get an appointment and then come back. IT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE!
