Do NOT go here! I took my one year old daughter because she was coughing and breathing weird. They checked her out and diagnosed her with RSV. Then they said she needs to go to the hospital due to being concerned about her breathing. I said 3 times that I want to drive her there and they said no. That we can’t drive her and that she has to be transported via ambulance. I don’t currently have insurance due to certain circumstances. When we got to the hospital they checked her out and said that she has rsv and discharged us with meds. The doctor said that the ambulance was unnecessary and that we could have drove her ourselves to the ER from urgent care. I will never use this cooks children’s urgent care again. Now I am stuck with a massive bill that I can’t afford.

I took my 7 year old daughter in about 7:30p for compliants of ear pain. The female PA seemed preoccupied mentally with something else as she was giving care to my child. She was rushing and raised her voice.(Perhaps her mind was in and out of the "pediatric urgent care") She proceeded to take out a very small piece of paper in both ears. Told us there's no sign of infection and to take some Tylenol. Within 48 hours and at another location: she continued to have ear pain, doc diagnosed inflammation in both ears and removed a wad of paper almost 3x the size of the one PA removed prior. He said, "Now do you have pain?" My daughter shook her head and said, "No." She is currently on an antibiotic. 1 star given for the actual and initial removal of paper.

Took my son here on Sunday because of sore throat and high fever. They did not listen, rushed and basically misdiagnosed my son. They checked his throat for strep, had absolutely no patience for children and when he threw up from the strep test they gave him Zoltan to keep him from throwing up when it hadn’t been a problem before the throat test. Then they sent is to a local Er for appendicitis (they doctor at the other ER checked him and said they had no idea what they were saying)....my son continued to run fever and after taking him to his pediatrician the next day, they tested him for the flu which was positive. Cooks urgent care did not even suggest checking for the flu. The staff has no business working with children, the doctor was nice but rushed and did not give my child the proper assessment. And you wonder why these babies are in the news dying from flu. This is ridiculous. This facility used to be awesome, but have truly gone to the dogs. We will not return and I will tell everyone I know. Take them anywhere other than Cooks Hurst Urgent care.

The northeast urgent care facility is horrible. They kept insisting that all my daughter had was a “ cold “ I took her back in 3 times b/c she was getting worse. It was obvious to the naked eye that my daughter had more than just a cold! I requested a second opinion and the 2nd nurse wasn’t any better. Everyone on the staff kept insisting that it would 2 months for my daughter to start feeling better! 2 MONTHS!! One of the nurses told me that her daughter had the same thing and it took .. 2 months to feel better. Lady, if your kid is still sick w/ a “ cold “ two months later, you’re doing it wrong. They also told me that they wouldn’t prescribe antibiotics unless my daughter has been sick for two weeks!!! Seriously?? Needless to say, we were not happy campers! They even suggested that any dr who prescribes antibiotics for kids is not following CDC guidelines.. omg! At this point, I had it. We were discharged. We drove down the street to care now where the doctor diagnosed my daughter w/ a sinus infection and bronchitis! She was prescribed two different antibiotics and some bronchitis liquid meds. The doctor said that there was no reason for her to have suffered this long. My daughter has been out of school for a week now. I’m angry that she’s Been sick this long and Cooks urgent care refused to help. I’m angry that I trusted them w/ my daughters health. Never again. I don’t have a problem w/ their other depts. The main hospital is amazing along w/ their specialized doctors, but their urgent care in Hurst gets two thumbs down!
