I had a miscarriage about a month ago and since my review on google isn't showing up, I figured I should share this every place I can. They did see me promptly, which was great. One of the nurses (Ms. Lauren I think her name was) was very sweet. She could tell this was extremely hard for me, and she tried her best to make things as painless as possible. My problem was with the ultrasound sound nurse, who kept asking why was I crying, why was I crying. I tried telling her about the miscarriage but I just whined and wiped tears off my face. She told me I really shouldn't be touching my face, what with the virus and everything. I'm bleeding everywhere, listening to an ultrasound that sounds empty, and she wants to remind me of COVID19? She wouldn't let me see the ultrasound, wouldn't tell me what she was seeing. I asked her if I really did miscarry, am I not pregnant anymore. She told me id have to wait for the doctor to give me any information. I had to get blood tests done, to measure my HCG levels. Fine, understandable. Then they asked me to take a pregnancy test. I asked if I had to, they already gave me an ultrasound and took my blood, can't I just go home? They wouldn't tell me how much the blood test would cost, just that they had to have it done so I did it. They said the test was positive but that was normal for a miscarriage as the hormone level would eventually decrease. Before I could leave I had to fill out discharge paperwork, but their printer wasn't working. So I was sitting in a room for twenty minutes, felt like hours, just bleeding through my clothes and crying, wanting to go home. They took payment from my right away but I still couldn't leave yet because of their printer. Once I did leave I just went home to grieve. A few minutes ago I got a phone call with my blood test results. The woman was very excited to tell me I was pregnant. I felt so excited, but I knew I was still bleeding and the ultrasound showed I was empty. I started crying and saying but what about the miscarriage, she asked if I had that today. I said NO, that's why I was there yesterday. She apologized and said she didn't know what the test results were for, she was just told to call me and tell me. If I took a pregnancy test there, did I really need a blood test too? To tell me the same thing? It felt like I was being taken advantage of and I am extremely upset with the level of care. It is not their fault I had a miscarriage, but they could have made this easier on me.
