If I could I would leave 0 stars. My 82 year old mother fell getting out of bed this morning and hurt her elbow (learned later it is broken). I decided to take her to the LCMC Health "Urgent" Care location in Lakeview. I went to the door a few minutes before their opening time of 8:00 am. I read on the door that I would need to register on my phone for an appointment and wait in my car. The first appointment wasn't until 12 noon. As I was on my phone someone opened the door and I explained my situation with my mother and I asked if it was possible to wait to see someone. She said just register for the 12 noon appointment and she will ask the doctor to fit her in. Great, I went back to my car and finished the registration on my phone which took a little over 10 - 15 minutes and required upload of pictures of drivers license and insurance card. I waited about ten minutes and no one called or came out. I went back in and there were two ladies at the front desk. I explained my situation and told them I had registered and would like to wait for a doctor to see my mother. They checked the computer and said they couldn't find my registration or appointment. After a long search they said my appointment was for the next day. I said I was positive I selected the 7th (today) and then they said the computer pushed my appointment to the next day because today was full. They said they would have to treat me as an "other" appointment and they would send me text message and I would need to register again. I would need to go through the whole online registration a second time, something that I had just completed. I got upset but in the end I said ok. I went back to my truck to wait for the text message. After 5-10 minutes I did not receive the text. No big surprise at this point. I went back in to see the receptionist. I told her I did not get the text message. Her reply was, "Oh, I was just about to send it to you". I said forget it. I told both, "Do you see the big red letters on the front of your building that says, 'URGENT CARE', well there's nothing urgent about this care" and I went to Ochsner Urgent Care on Robert E Lee and walked right in without an appointment and was seen by a doctor within 10 minutes. I don't understand LCMC calling the location an Urgent Care facility if you need an appointment. They should just call it what it is, a doctors office.
