I took my elderly mother in for a Covid test on Monday night December 7th about 7:00 pm. We were treated cordially from the receptionist from the moment we walked in the door. The nurse who performed the test was gentle and explained the procedure to my mother. In addition, the doctor was concerned and asked my mother all the appropriate questions. There is no doubt I will use this facility in the future and recommend it to my friends, too. Great experience!

One star is actually too much. My family of 5 has gone here for years. For everything from flu, to strep, to getting a splinter out of my sons hand. About a year ago I was told I had a collection on my account for $55 which made no sense as my insurance covers everything except a $10 copay, including labs, and for some reason it was only under my name and I thought I had cleared this up. I go in today to get test for Covid. I register online, even upload my insurance and ID and when I show up at MedCare the place is packed. There’s no place to go to separate yourself from others with Covid symptoms. I check in at the desk, I am good to go, and I sit. And sit. And sit. While I am sitting the woman at the front desk is yelling private information across the desk. “Do we have any positives today? Just one? Oh wow. Okay.” How professional is this?? And nerve wracking being we are all here for Covid. An older couple comes in. They don’t speak English and when they show her their insurance she scoffs at them and says “We don’t take your insurance here.” Nothing more. Basically flicks them away. It was dehumanizing and gross. I wait 45 minutes and notice 3 people who were here after me are called back. I go up to the desk and inquire as to why I haven’t been called back. Why did I even make an appointment? She pulls my file up and begins to literally— I am not exaggerating— yell across the desk at me that I have collections on my account and they can’t see me until my collections are paid and why haven’t I paid them yet? I was stunned. Did this really need to be screamed across a crowded lobby? I mean not that she screamed she just projected her voice as loud as she could and basically made me feel like a deadbeat. If I had said nothing would I have sat for hours like a dummy waiting for someone to call me back? I checked in at the desk when I came in. I was told all is good sit down and wait. And then I am humiliated in front of a room full of sick people? Anyway, I pay the collections because I am MORTIFIED and finally get called back where they do a rapid Covid test which I did not know they were doing. It’s not as accurate as the PCR test so I am really not confident in my results and it was such a stressful situation that it wasn’t worth going there. Also I was exposed to all the people there who were sitting around each other because they will not allow you to sit in your car and wait. This place is truly the worst. I will never come to this location again, and neither will any of my family members. We have Roper express and Nason close by. The ER would be better than this unprofessional, heartless place.
