I recently interviewed with Nova for a role and was very disappointed with the process from start to finish. The interview was scheduled for a set time, yet the co-founders and CEO did not enter the meeting until later. Once we began, the tone set by the leadership team was surprisingly abrasive and unprofessional given the claims made on Nova's website around fostering an inclusive, supportive culture. The questions directed at me felt more like interrogations, with no smiles or attempts to have an actual conversation. Additionally, when I asked clarifying questions about day-to-day responsibilities and key competencies needed for success in the open position, the HR representative assigned to the meeting was caught completely off-guard. It became very apparent she had not actually read the job description herself, which raised red flags about how well aligned the talent recruitment team is with core operations. Overall, I cannot in good faith recommend anyone waste their time interviewing with Nova. The delays, tones set by executives, and lack of preparation exhibited reflect an organization struggling with basic business etiquette, transparency, and respect for candidates' time/efforts. For a leadership team seemingly obsessed with innovation and progress, the interview process felt dated and lacking any modern sensibilities towards candidate experience best practices. I will not be continuing discussions with Nova.
