What patients are saying...

Terrible experience. I strained my back bad enough to need medical care. Scheduled an appointment and as I was pulling into the parking lot, received a text from Novant that I would not be able to receive care because the xray machine was not available. I didn’t need an x-ray for a strain…even I know that. When explaining the problem, I was told to go to the ER instead. When I questioned this response again I was told that I could come in if I “wanted” to but they won’t be able to do anything. I informed them that I am in so much pain that I’d rather not try to walk in only to have to turn around and try to walk out with no help. And that’s where things went from bad to worse. The person on the other end texting was so rude and said…”it’s not like we help patients in and out of their car to begin with.” I didn’t ask for help to and from my car. I asked to be see and was basically refused because someone didn’t want to work on Labor Day apparently. I headed down the road to Mercy Urgent care and provided treatment without an x ray which included a torodal shot and, muscle relaxers and steroids. Whoever is working the front desk needs some training on professionalism and leave the decision for treatment to the PA or doctors instead of cancelling appointments over text and going back and forth with the patient. I’m planning on submitting as many reviews as needed. Absolutely terrible experience at the New Leister Hwy Asheville office.

Really disappointing all around. It was a great urgent care before Novant bought it. I was charged $450 for an urgent care appointment for a tetanus shot. 10 minutes with a PA and the shot administration. The paperwork that I admittedly did not read through entirely has a clause that allows them to auto charge the card you give them. I never know if there will be enough on my HSA card so I had asked the person about charges on the card and she said it was a formality, so I gave her my credit card. I paid them with my HSA card when I received the bill after insurance and they double charged me with the card they had on file a few days later. Beware. I will not be back.

Great care. Only issue was I made the appointment online and got a confirmation text that I answered. yet when I got there I was not on the list and had to reregister for my appointment. Marcus the nurse and Diedre, the PA were excellent.
