What patients are saying...

1.0

Do not know where to begin the horrible experience we went through. We were there to get some tests done for our 11 month old daughter. 1) We queued up at the lab reception and we were the only ones standing in line at the time. The lady at the counter continued working on something for 10 straight minutes not attending to us. There were other patients who queued up after us albeit in a parallel row. The lady at the counter would simply not acknowledge us and just kept calling every one else (Yes we did not have an appointment and the other people called ahead of us also didn't). Finally another person showed up at the counter and after 20 mins attended to us. 2) Finally we went in. The nurse first tried to conduct a blood test in the common room. She poked my daughter twice and was not able to find the vein to draw blood from. Needless to say by now my daughter was howling. We were quickly ushered into a room, I am guessing so that the other patients do not find out about their incompetence. 3) Once in the room the nurse realized that the lab had run out of infant syringe, so then we waited for 10 mins before the syringe arrived. At this point another nurse joined in and she tried to poke the needle. Again two attempts resulted in their inability do so. Needless to say at this point having been poked 4 times and badly bruised in her arm, my infant was in complete meltdown due to the discomfort she experienced. 4) They finally called some one new who seemed like was a resident doctor, he came in and was finally able to draw blood in the right way. 5) When I called them to understand when would the results be available, I got a curt response asking me to access it online. When I tried to enquire how I could register all I got was a sense of urgency to hang up the phone and the line going silent. Needless to say I am never going back to this place. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent staff at the lab. Hospitals should be about care, not big shiny buildings. I for one did not feel my daughter was cared for. I believe this hospital just got taken over by Sutter Health. Maybe it is the new administration is the problem.
