WARNING $425.04 strep test. I grew up in Bozeman and we frequently visit the area. This year I brought my family up from Arizona to Big Sky Resort to ski for a couple days on Spring Break. Our 8 year old came down with a bad sore throat while there and we took him in to the Bozeman Health b2 Urgent Care clinic at Big Sky to get his nose swabbed to make sure he didn't have strep (which was negative). The staff was nice for our brief visit and said they would bill us. It turns out we have no insurance coverage out of state and Bozeman Health ended up mailing us a $425.04 bill for the strep test. My wife called in to pay the statement and asked for a cash payer discount since our insurance does not have contracted rates with them and they refused. We will not use Bozeman Health facilities again based on their refusal to charge us a reasonable amount for a simple strep test.
