I needed to be tested for the presence of a pathogen to start my treatment. My visit to the facility went smooth and within 5 minutes I was in the lab giving my sample. I was told by the UChealth virtual consultant as well as by the nurse in the facility that results will be within an hour. I was in a lot of pain, with fever and unable to swallow my own saliva which was communicated to all of them. I made the first phone call 2 hours after their proposed time for publishing the results. A very friendly front desk lady tried to help me and told me that my test was positive and she will manually added to my page. Unfortunately an hour later nothing was done and I needed to call again, this time my pain was greater, fever was higher and I was starting to show signs of dehydration due to the untreated tonsilitis. This time they found the proper person to push the bottom and published my results on their website so I could get my prescription. A very disappointed experience as this was my first time using UC health urgent care. Those extra 5 hours of pain, fever and worsening of my condition were totally preventable.

I live out of town so I called ahead to ask if they are capable of treating an infected cyst/boil that may be caused by a clump of ingrown hairs under the skin that needed to be removed. This infected area has been bleeding and draining all day and I can see something black in now an open wound and believe it may be a clump of ingrown hairs that need to be removed. The girl on the phone said they cannot say whether they will or will not do that, they have to see the area first before they can say what they will do. I tried to explain I just wanted to know if they are capable of the surgical removal if that is what needed, I kept getting the reply that they do not say what they will do over the phone. I say I just want to know if they care capable of doing what is needed for in ingrown clump of hair. I AM NOT asking if they will do it, just if they can do it if that is indeed what the issue is!!! Note: I am asking if they can/are capable of doing this at an urgent care; She is saying they will not say what they can do until they see the issue!!! I am just TRYING to find out if this type of medical issue is treatalble at Urgent Care. I know they cannot treat every single thing at Urgent Care, she thinks I am asking if they WILL do this. She cannot tell me if they will or will not. I just want to know if they are capable!!!! If they can do this if that is what is needed. I repeated this several times! I told her I've been on the phone two hours with this. first talking with the Nurse Line and being told I need to see a doctor within 24 hours. I know I cannot get into my PCP in that short of time, because he just changed medical groups. The girl said to call the PPRH since there is no urgent care in Woodland anymore, I told her PPRH is who told me to call her! We went round and round about this for a long time. It's been over 2 hours on the phone now I told her I give up. She did not seem to care a bit. Then she put me on hold and came back and kept repeating to me that they do not do hair removal waxing??? Do people really call Urgent Care for hair removal by waxing? I told her these types of ingrown hairs are not removed by waxing, usually surgically by incision and with tweezers. She said no they do not do hair removal. If hair removal is what it takes to fix this infected boil/cyst they are not going to do it? I give up.
