My nurse practitioner Melissa Smith was very rude to me and seemed as if asking for her to test me for strep, Covid, and mono was an inconvenience to her. Not only this, but in my summary that was sent out she wrote a rude comment about me being upset that she wanted to send me home completely untreated and in severe amounts of pain. I will not be going back here because I always use this facility and am often sent home with no answers or help. I am happy that I was prescribed a steroid, however the process of getting one was much more difficult than it needed to be. I told her that I couldn’t hear out of my ears and she had no concern at all. She hadn’t told me she was prescribing a steroid until another nurse practitioner who was very nice came in and told me. Following Melissa Smith’s directions I took Motrin and the steroid together and ended up finding out the hard way that they give you stomach issues and diarrhea when mixed. Once again, not helpful.

Every time we come the wait is forever even with an empty lobby.

Did not consider the wait time to be as long as it was. There was nobody in the waiting room. After all that time, we had to go to ER anyway.

Front desk was great she was super nice and thoughtful. Nurse had no bedside manner whatsoever. X-ray tech was nice took bunch of X-rays. Next doctors or practitioners seemed friendly enough but wanted more X-ray, X-ray was not functioning properly so after another 30-40 minutes sent home with a soft shoe and told if they see something wrong on the X-ray they’ll let me know go home take Tylenol and follow up with an orthopedic doctor.. for what I’m not entirely sure I still don’t know what’s wrong 1.5 hours later. I asked if it was sprained and got yes soft tissue damage in foot and probably ribs sprained too. Not a very confident diagnosis when I’m the one asking if that’s what it was.

My experience at UH Portage in Ravenna over all was very good. The staff, the Nurse Practitioner and all of the nurses were very compassionate and friendly! The only complaint I had was I had lab work done. They had to re-draw because three different tubes and then finally a fourth because it needed to be ran fairly quickly. All the samples were “ hemolyzied” and could not be tested. My nurse was frustrated and very, very apologetic. I had the impression this happens too often. I think the lab workers should be held accountable. The time we spent there was going well until the lab incident. We were there for four hours. I would give an A plus to all of my nurses and Jack the nurse practitioner. I’m was there for a high blood pressure incident On May 26 2023 in the afternoon/evening .

I picked this place cause no one ever goes here. I don’t have time to wait. Patrick was was great, and was teaching a new person how to do things, taking vitals. The doctor didn’t really seem to care or take time to listen. So I am disappointed and my problem is not solved. UH is dying for a reason.

The doctor was absurdly rude, asking questions about my personal life that had nothing to do with my reasoning for being there. They offered 0 help or guidance to my issue when I told them I was allergic to a certain medicine and decided to instead badger me with questions and judge me for my actions. This hospital is a disgrace and I sincerely hope those who are referred to this hospital choose to go somewhere else.
