What patients are saying...

The front desk girl did not seem to want to be there. She turned us away because my son did not have his id and the finger print machine was not working right. She tried to have a conversation with us but I was rude and I told her it was 835 and she was wasting time if we were to get back in time. I rushed home and my son got his id. We rushed back and literally got there at 900. They had already turned off the lights and were walking out as we got there. The front desk girl did not care and complained with that same sweetness that she was working for over 13 hours and she was exhausted and her foot hurt. She did have a bum foot and it was in a boot and I could imagine her sitting there with her foot dangling that with the blood flow not being that great would have bothered her but I told her I did not care because I was there to get my injured son looked at and not to there to hear her complain about her foot and how long she was working and how tired she was. Needless to say she told me she would not talk to me because my son who was standing right infront on me did not give her a poa. First we were not talking hippa, we were trying to get my son seen. Then she proceeded to be passive aggressive and told me her 37 year old child was better behaved then a mother who was concerned and wanted to get her son looked at and just was turned away and refused care when rushing back. I must say I should get a cookie for not swearing at her though when she said she was not trying to be a bitch, I did contradict her and say yes she was......so yep I was a tad bit douche but after dealing with her charming personality and professionalism, my sweet yes ma'am attitude was not exactly there but I did not tell her what I was really thinking. Professional observation is UPMC needs to needs to stop working their employees so hard and long that they have such charming personalities and as this lady reminded me about 5 times did not want to get fired or lose her license or do anything illegal. Which makes me wonder about she was talking about. How is my son needing to have his finger get looked at making her feel as though she was about to get arrested. Makes me wonder what type of employer this wonderful place is. I figured talking to the manager Christie would not do any good so I put my complaint out here for everyone to read just because if they are as sweet and caring as they were tonight and actually cared I would be just bringing my blood pressure up again. Fyi my son had been here before and we had a different person at the front desk who was sweet and the nurses and doctors were professional. But the lady working at the front desk at the UPMC urgent care in Irwin should retire if she is so miserable with her job and the horrible people who are in need to be seen medically. My book is done.

Members of my family have been patients at this Urgent Care Center at different times for different reasons. Only one of the times has there been actual treatment. Every other time a $40 copay has been collected then told to proceed to an emergency room. Total incompetence and lack of urgent care skills.
