I’ve been to this urgent care many times before and I guess they now have an online scheduling system that I wished I knew about sooner. Staff were very friendly and welcoming except for the woman at the check in counter. Very direct and cold. Clinic needs a good deep cleaning. Getting Tested for STDs in Rosemead, CA

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or have had unprotected sex. This includes individuals in the age group of 25-40 years, who are likely to be parents and have commercial insurance through their employer. It's also important for those who have had a past infection to get retested since STDs can recur. According to the CDC, certain groups such as young people and men who have sex with men are at a higher risk and should get tested more frequently.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs do not show symptoms immediately, making it possible for individuals to spread them unknowingly. Early detection through testing can help prevent serious health complications such as infertility, cancer, and organ damage. Moreover, knowing your STD status can help protect your sexual partners and prevent the further spread of these diseases.
