Was suffering from severe low back pain.  Was able to schedule an appointment online right away.  Arrived to an empty waiting room and after filling out the paperwork was put right into an exam room.  Waited less than 10 minutes total.  Treatment was explained fully.  All in all a very quick and effective appointment and I’m feeling considerably better less than 24 hours later.

Recent Blood Test Reviews (14)

The Nurse that administered my daughters shot was extremely rude to her the whole time she was in the room. My daughter was asking her why her shot had to be in her butt because she had just spent the night at Children’s and has had two shots in her butt the day before and it was sore and she has had an iv and is really nervous about needles. She didn’t care. She just said I’m good with needles. So my daughter sat up and leaned over as she had done the day before. She said, I need you to stand up! So Elysse did that. With tears in her eyes. No are you okay? Nothing. No empathy. I also asked if she could check her blood sugar because she was starting to get shaky like the day before. I wanted to rule that out. She said I would have to check in again. NO ONE WAS IN THERE!! I said I guess she will just have to pass out. She said OK!! I hope I NEVER HAVE TO SEE HER AT THE LONOKE CLINIC AGAIN.

Dr Carter saved my life. She listened to my complaints, did the appropriate tests and sent me to the ER. She knew I had blood clots by the special blood work she requested. I had 2 clots, one in each lung. She really listens to her patients, I can't thank her enough. Radiology was a disaster. I waited one and a half hour for a chest xray. I kept asking why are all the people who came after me going before me, they misplaced my sheet in the wrong folder, then someone came out and placed it in the right folder in the back....Dr Carter actually came to look for me because she was concerned that I hadn't returned to Urgent care. A million A+ for Dr Carter and a F- for Radiology.

This morning I went to CompuNet to have blood drawn for a doctor’s appointment. I was seen very quickly and was treated with much kindness. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The staff was very efficient and friendly, and I even noticed the kind way they treated each other.

Very good experience. All but one door was automatic, plenty of close parking, very clean, no lines, no wait, very helpful staff member and uneventful painless blood draw. Just walked in for blood draw and was seen immediately.

Going to the doctor for anything can be scary and daunting to say the least. But your staff is cool and extremely professional which drops my blood pressure to a huge smile. Thank you all Lawrence

Great place to go. Never have to wait more than five minutes. They always get blood on the first try.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Took 2 technicians, 4 stabs to get blood. Medical assistants not phlebotomists. Otherwise fine.

Illinois Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in Illinois that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

  • Where can I get blood work after hours in Illinois?

Outside routine work hours, most Illinois labs and primary care offices are closed, however, most of the area’s urgent care and retail clinics are open later than typical business hours and on weekends. • Who should get a blood test?

Blood tests provide a valuable look at your overall health and blood work should be done at least once a year. They offer a great way to catch illness or disease early on, or see how you are progressing with on-going treatment. Your doctor or healthcare provider typically orders blood tests for you during an annual physical or as necessary for a specific diagnosis. It’s possible to order your own blood tests without a doctor, particularly for things like STD tests or hemoglobin A1c tests.

  • Are video visits available for blood work in Illinois?

While a blood test cannot be performed over video, your doctor can both initially prescribe blood tests using telemedicine, and review results with you virtually.

  • How much does a blood test cost in Illinois?

Without insurance, blood work typically costs between $50 to $1,000, or sometimes more depending on the specific tests and the provider type you are having the tests performed at. At-home tests are available in most areas and could cost substantially less. Book a consultation with a lab testing provider in Illinois today to get more details on the specific blood work you are looking for.

  • How long do blood tests take?

Blood tests can be performed either in-office or performed on samples that are sent to an outside lab. The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
