10/10.  Good people, quick service.  Fast scheduling, easy to do online.  Check-in was easy, no issue with the online option.  Staff were very friendly and accommodating.  They took great care of me and addressed my issue promptly.  I went at night but I was in and out in 25 minutes total time!

The front desk gentleman was very nice and professional, took my blood pressure & temperature. The nurse who came into patient room told me I should have put my mask on when I had been told I was going to be getting swabbed next - I realize I was contagious but I wasn’t leaving the room and I knew I was getting swabbed - I wasn’t sure it it was going to be my nose or mouth.  Her manner & tone was not friendly.  The PA was great, very nice bedside manner, helpful and answered questions.  I had thought the clinic did PCR tests as they had done in the past but learned that had stopped some time ago. I wanted to have a PCR test done as well but was not able to.

The doctor was very great and gentle with my child. Listened to what I needed to say and was equally concerned as I was about my son’s well being.

Wife, who has dementia, began exhibiting extreme anxiety and fear symptoms that my daughter, a NP, said might be caused by a UTI.  We came to your office for some advice and meds, which you provided. Thanks

The receptionist never greeted me when I entered the office. She was not at the desk but was back in another office talking to another staff member. My first interaction with anyone was when the nurse called my name to be seen. The nurse and Dr were professional and friendly. When I walked back to the front there was still no one at the desk. The receptionist was again in the other room talking to another staff member. I said excuse do I need to check out and she said no you’re good. Very poor communication.

My daughter needed a sports physical today. I was able to get in very quickly. The check-in process for paperwork went smoothly due to it being available online prior to the appointment. The staff was very nice and pleasant. Nurse Bri was excellent. My daughter was nervous at first, but Nurse Bri’s bedside manner helped her feel more comfortable. I would definitely recommend this office and its staff.

Last time I came here, my whole experience was a nightmare. They looked like they changed ownership so I gave another try. The experience was so simple. Everyone was easy to talk too and  I had barely any wait time. The women I saw were pleasant and efficient. I was out the door quickly and my prescription was called in by the time I got to the pharmacy.

I got up coughing and wheezing and had called night before to schedule appointment for next morning, since started having problems. I was able to get one at 10 am on Sunday. The only problem I had was the check in on line. I had put in all information and when I went in, they could find where I had already filled out. I had to start filling out the paperwork by hand. Was not feeling well at all, but continued doing what they had me do. The person on front desk said maybe the system was not working right. Other than that I had a good visit. Dr Beene was very empathetic and got a breathing treatment b re fore I left. Great visit, the one administering the treatment was very nice and attentive!!! Thank you 😊 g

We have been going to little spurs since we moved to Texas, which was 5 years ago. This last time we were there, it was disgusting inside. The cleanliness was terrible. A place like an urgent you would think that they have a cleaning staff that comes every night to clean the waiting room and the rooms. The walls had not been clean in who knows how long and the floors were gross as well. We will not be going back to little spurs! I hope the upper staff does read this and address these issues

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

All of the employees were friendly and following safety measures. I did have to wait about 2 and a half hours, but I was expecting that with everyone trying to get free COVID testing. Woman at front desk was nice and helpful despite being very busy. Both nurses and the PA who came to see me in the patient room were helpful and kind. Great job!

I was here last fall For a Covid test. Dr Daniel Good was Dr. great bedside manner nice. Introduced himself right away. This time I was seen by a lady. Nice but never introduced herself. Seemed to think I just had an allergic rhinitis. Have very red throat. Could barely Swallow. Felt like strep. She did agree to send a 2nd swab to patholog. Left. Room so CMA came in and did swab and I asked her the dr name and she tells me the lady was a PA. So I felt like she just doesn’t identify herself so no one knows she is not an MD. A little disturbing. I am a BSN RN so I am somewhat picky about titles and representation. The CMA Gisela was extremely efficient.

I came here to get a rapid COVID test because this was one of the only clinics in the area that my insurance would cover. I had an appointment but they were backed up at least an hour. THAT SAID, the receptionist and nurses were so friendly and were working so hard to fit people in for COVID testing amongst their normal urgent care patients. They were quick, gracious, kind and efficient. I am extremely grateful for the hard work of our medical professionals during an overwhelming time. Thank you to this clinic for your services.

I went for a COVID test and would have preferred to be able to wait in my car or outside until they were ready for me, but other than that it was a good experience. The doctor and staff were very friendly and professional.

- Verified patient on 12/12

I went in for a rapid COVID test. The entire process was as simple as can be. I went online made the appointment, arrived at the scheduled time and within 20 minutes I had my results. I highly recommend Citydoc to anyone that’s pressed for time and needs quick answers.

- Verified patient on 12/11

All went very well except one thing. I came in for a covid test because of some symptoms I was having. The doctor was happy to tell me that my results were negative for covid, but didn’t offer any advise or fort her evaluation about the symptoms I had.

- Verified patient on 12/27

Came in for a Covid test. I was not comfortable waiting in the lobby. I told the receptionist I’d like to wait out side. For me-safer. She said she’d be glad to phone me when it was my turn. This was excellent customer care and put me at ease. The communication and care was excellent at all levels.

- Verified patient on 12/28

Best urgent care experience ever. Came for a covid test. The online appt was easy to use and they actually abide by their times! I waited maybe only 15 mins and did the paperwork online ahead of time. Staff were friendly and quick. Plus, the send their PCR tests to LabCorp, which has the newest equipment so the pcr swab doesn’t have to painful. Coming here from now on.

They were the BEST!!! I had to get a rapid a Covid test for travel went to 4 different places one Emergency 24 hr place said it would take Ins but not Medicare and wanted to charge $400. per person!! CityDoc was easy I got appointments for the family and they took Medicare. Everyone was excellent and so so nice:) Would go there again and believe me I will be telling all my friends. Thank you thank you CityDoc

Receptionist (Gracieanna)loudly asked for all waiting room to hear if I was using Medicare? I have been here numerous times using private insurance and nothing provides a reason for such a question. I arrived 30 minutes early. While I was waiting, Three white women show up without appointments, ask questions, Complete the Solv questionnaire at the desk and all get seen before me. When I asked Gracieanna about my appointment, then she stated, oh you’re next. There was no one else left in the waiting room. Once seen the male nurse didn’t weigh me but asked me to tell him my weight and began a discourse about me taking medication for high blood pressure and having been referred by a doctor. When I explained to him, I had never visited for anything other than a Covid test, he was dismissive and provided me with none of my vitals. Temp, blood Pressure and O2. The doctor did provide my vitals after I asked and her bedside manner was the standard of professionalism and care that I have encountered in the past. Without my prior experiences, I would never return; however, I hope this staff team I encountered was an anomaly.

The staff ran the covid testing line efficiently, professionally and with a great attitude! We were able to fill out our paperwork outside, instead of just blowing time in line. The test itself was performed well and we received results in a timely manner. We will return and we highly recommend CityDoc!

Easy appointment booking and convenient check in online with Solv for covid test and excellent support and help to get the swab part right! Excellent, caring advice and efficient, quick results. My go to place for help when I am sick. Costs and payment choices fully explained and reasonable.

- Verified patient on 10/28

Staff was super friendly, NP on site noticed that I took a nasal steroid and offered to have me come back for another Covid test just to make sure my results were not skewed. Appreciated the staffs attention to detail, hoping not to have to be back again but wouldn’t mind with this staff.

- Verified patient on 3/26

We are from the College Station area and were in need of a COVID test in order to attend The Eagles concert. The staff was amazing! They were so friendly, helpful, and professional. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in my family and that should speak volumes! They are awesome!

- Verified patient on 9/20

The person out front was telling people that the wait was an hour. However, it was actually over two hours. I say there and heard her tell multiple people this. In the two hours I sat there no one came out and cleaned the waiting room, despite the fact that everyone was there for a Covid test.

- Verified patient on 10/6

Went for a hot-shot COVID test. The sign up was a little more involved than I would have thought it would be. As I live close to the location, they said ok to go home to wait. They texted when ready so the actual wait time at City Doc was attenuated. Had the rapid test and in 15 min sharp, the results came back (negative in my case). All in all I was pleased with the professionalism shown by all of the employees, from the nice lady at the front desk, to the kind lady who swabbed by nose to the kind gentleman who gave me the report. I would definitely consider going back for issues they could handle.

- Verified patient on 10/7

I went in for a drive-through Covid test. The online consultation was on time, friendly, and quick. The person who did my nasal swab I was very nice and friendly as well. I am grateful that I have access to healthcare. Thanks to urgent care for a positive experience.

- Verified patient on 12/29

Had an appointment but had to wait about 15 minutes after my appointment time, even after getting there at the 10 minutes before my appointment as recommended. On a weekend I can understand that the staff is low. Having a simple procedure ( Covid test) I am sure there were more important cases than mine.

- Verified patient on 8/21

The wait time was about 6hrs for Covid testing due to a lot of ppl ahead of me on the list but I was able to go home and wait for a call once i got there it went pretty quick .Doctor was so nice listend to my concerns and showed compassion and had all the answers I needed ! Great bedside manner .recommend 100%!

- Verified patient on 11/3

For an urgent care, I was expecting longer wait time. But it was the opposite! I probably wait longer at my kids normal care providers office. The staff were super nice and friendly, very gentle with my daughter! Made us feel very welcomed! The dr was very informative, listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions! Even though we went for just a covid test, she basically gave my daughter a full check up. We left very happy, and relieved as well!

Dallas COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Dallas?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Dallas?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Dallas-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Dallas?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Dallas including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Dallas?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Dallas-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Dallas?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Dallas are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Dallas?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Dallas?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
