My visit at urgent care in Narberth was good. The doctor took time with me and explained everything to me. The young medical tech was excellent! He was efficient and friendly. This is my second time visiting the clinic and I would return.

I have been feeling sick since Wednesday. I was able to schedule an appointment and got in for 11:00 am. Wait time was a bit long but the services received outweighed the wait

Woke up that morning in severe pain in my back and upper rib cage.  I had been feeling that pain for about a week and during that week it got predominately worse.  The wait time was over two hours.  That was the worse thing about my visit.  Other than that the visit and doctor were very professional.  Yes, I would recommend this provider.

Urgent care
I cut my leg badly a couple of days ago and needed help asap! I immediately thought of the closest Urgent Care on Valley Forge Rd. and Sumneytown Pike in Lansdale. I was a walk-in and there were a couple of sick children ahead of me so they immediately got me to a private room where I wouldn't be exposed to germs and cleaned my leg while I waited for the on-duty physician's assistant, Catherine Moran. She was attending to those ahead of me but came in to evaluate my injury and informed me that the wound would require stitches. When she finished with the others, she attended to me and did an outstanding job! Not only was the stitching painless but the quality of her handiwork was fabulous! She was calm and reassuring as were the nurse who performed the preliminary duties (blood pressure, information gathering, etc.) and staff. I was impressed with the competence of everyone involved and would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need! Thank you to all of the staff who helped me!

They didn't ask when I first had symptoms and that would have determined the outcome of a covid test. They could have suggested I wait at least another day before returning there. As a result, I tested negative at AFC and positive two days later. As a result, my $55 copay was wasted.

My wife, Phylis broke her toe 8 days ago. She is so stubborn and refused a trip to the doctors all week. Sure, we had buddy-taped the toe(she was correct, it really was broken) and one of the reasons for not seeing a doc was her experience that a doc couldn’t have done much more than she had. I tell you all this so you might understand her “reluctance” to come in. Throughout the week she struggled with walking so I finally got her to stop in the new urgent care. The two angels you had working Saturday 11/13 at 4 pm were awesome!! Somehow, they both went out of their way and hit exactly the right tone to get through to Phyl. They told her that even if it was broken, after 8 days of pain it could not hurt to let a medical professional look at the toe. Phylis raved about how gentle and thorough the front end staff, the nurse and the doctor were. And after more X-rays of her foot, she was provided a shoe-boot which thoroughly relieved the walking she needs to do. Thanksgiving is coming and Phyl will be making dinner for all of us, with minimal pain Other then what I introduce, of course! Phyl told the women at the reception area that she would sing their praises and she will. Neither of us would ever hesitate to return to Liberty for any emergency care

It was a very confusing experience. We text messages telling us to send information to the wrong phone numbers. We got people telling us there was a telemed visit after I had already talked to the doctor. And they were trying to schedule me for anybody testing when we were just getting nasal swabs. Everyone was very nice to deal with but it was a very confused situation. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong but it seemed like the information that was given didn't get into the system. We were supposed to have urgent care come out to do testing on my staff and it seemed like it was not able to handle that group. It was handling everyone individually and not coordinated at all.

This was my third visit with Liberty Urgent Care, and again, I’m so pleased with the care provided by this practice. I needed to get a Covid-19 test in order to travel. Scheduling was a breeze online, wait time was quick, and Dr Tweedy was, as always, so kind and funny. The testing is done in the parking lot, so no exposure to sick people, especially if you’re just being tested for travel purposes. Results are always reliably fast, and a lab report is provided upon request. I like not having to worry about getting my results within the timeframe needed and knowing I’m receiving the same quality of care each and every visit.

I needed a COVID-19 Rapid Test to return to work from being out-of-state. It was hard to find a location and to also find a location where the cost was not extremely high. Liberty Urgent Care was recommended to me, and the cost was much more affordable since I was paying out-of-pocket. The person that waited on me was pleasant and courteous and the test was done very timely, just waiting a short time for the person in front of me. I also requested that my results be emailed to me, and they were sent within an hour. I was very impressed!

Had a Tele-visit with Dr Tweedy…was rather punctual knowing how busy they must be with COVID on the rise again. He listened very a tentatively and discussed possible options and causes as well as all next steps. Had to visit for test right afterwards and Ashley (I think that was her name…I asked but forgot, sorry) did my test. Was very nice and her instructions were complete and helpful. Def my Urgent Care of choice! Thanks all to making it an easy experience and a great one.

Front desk staff stunk! She told me to go home...Urgent Care does not check vitals! If I did not make it past your hound dog...I might have died, had a heart attack or stroke. Can you say liability risk?? When I got inside it was a whole different story. The "MEDICAL" staff were great! I went to the hospital by ambulance. My 24 hour hotline nurse from BC sent me to Urgent Care stat! Time for orientation for your front line people! Thank you for asking.

I sis ally love liberty, went today and there was a long wait, some staff are rushed and not so friendly in addition to not giving the attention that is needed at the visit. I am sure there is a reason for the change today. Please don’t let this place slide into being like all the other urgent cares. Liberty had always been different with friendly staff and drs that care. We recommend it to everyone. Stressed out employees don’t make for good care takers.

Everything was great from the moment I went in. The front desk staff got me checked in and into a room immediately. Once I was seated in the room Brittany came in to check my vitals clean my cut and check everything, she was fantastic from start to finish. Dr Jenkins came in and was professional with an amazing bedside manner from the start and my stitches look great! Thank you to everyone there for making my first experience with Liberty Urgent Care so great!

I've been to this urgent care twice in the past few years. The customer service and bedside manner is exactly the same both times and how it should be for all healthcare settings. Vybe Urgent Care really seems to care about the people in our community and are making a difference in their patients' lives. I am very pleased and grateful to have vybe in my community. 🙏👏 Thank you Shamara, Ashlee, Doctor Toni M. and Kris for the great care I received.

Fantastic experience. From the intake, setting the appointment, telemedicine visit, to being tested for Covid-19, everyone was friendly, efficient and kind. I made initial contact at 10am, and by noon I had completed a telemedicine visit, gotten my prescriptions and had a Covid test in the parking lot. This urgent care experience was far different from any other, and though it’s a bit of a drive, I will continue receiving services here. I’m shocked at how quickly the whole process was.

I had a rather volatile reaction to a bug bite. I was able to show it to Dr. Tweedy who advised he felt it was probably not a deer tick bite and said why, so by the end of the conversation I'm not now worried. I appreciated the quickness with which the Liberty Urgent Care staff got back to me and appreciated their expertise and courteousness too! I will definitely recommend liberty urgent Care to my friends here.Thank you all

Although we waited for over an hour to be seen, the visit itself was excellent. I felt that both the nurse and the doctor were knowledgeable and friendly and welcomed questions. You can use the online appointment tool, instead of just dropping in, and that will assure you dont wait as long as I did. I would certainly return here over the other Urgent Care centers that are closer in location to me!

This was my first time using AFC Urgent Care. And it was my first time using telemedicine. I wasn't sure what to expect, and was pleased with how easy it was to schedule and appointment and meet with a physician. The doctor was friendly and caring. He listened to my concerns and provided a solution that was right for me. I was very happy with the whole experience.

The doctors at liberty urgent care or by far the most caring understanding and educated in my opinion. I’ve never felt more comfortable with medical professionals than I do here. Their level of care is bar none and exceptional in every sense of the word. I would recommend liberty urgent care to anyone and everyone with a matter that needs to be addressed immediately.

- Verified patient on 9/17

I was feeling really sick when I was seen. They were very friendly, the offices were clean and the doctor and nurse very thorough. Very satisfied with AFC urgent care and will recommend 100% to others. Am grateful for the whole staff considering how not well I felt. It made a big difference in my not so lovely day... Thankful for that.

Walked in and had to wait about 45 minutes to see someone but it was a Saturday and height of flu season. Everyone was so friendly and the dr really listened to me. I’ve been to other urgent cares and they always seem to misdiagnose my issue because they aren’t listening. I will definitely use them again if I need urgent care!

I was uptight going there as I needed to take a Covid test. The nurse that administered the test along with the PA were very professional and did not rush me as I had a few questions that I needed answered. Also, the girl at the desk who checked me in was a very pleasant young girl! Thank you Pediatric Urgent Care

What an incredible experience! Facility was clean, wait time was non-existent, Micah, Allison, Kayla, and Mel all greeted me when I came in and everyone was so kind and so pleasant. What a wonderful crew who were so knowledgeable and took such amazing care of me. I will most definitely recommend Liberty Urgent Care Huntingdon Valley to my friends and family!

Urgent Care in Pennsylvania

Emergency rooms are the most expensive way for people to receive medical care. While it's difficult to determine exactly how much money patients could save by using urgent care centers instead of ERs, the numbers show that, in some cases, an ER can cost ten times as much as using an urgent care center. This is a serious concern for Pennsylvanians.

About 16 percent of people in Pennsylvania live below the poverty line. That might sound bad, but it gets even worse when one looks at individual cities. More than 40 percent of residents in Reading, PA live below the poverty level, earning it the unfortunate distinction as one of America's poorest cities. Such a high rate of poverty makes it nearly impossible for people to place an emphasis on preventative health. When a family has difficulty paying for food, nutrition, physical activity and immunizations become distant concerns.

After living with sickness for weeks or months, a person eventually has to visit the emergency room for treatment. Since the ER cannot turn them away, many of those high-priced services get passed on to taxpayers. Those preventable health conditions also clog emergency rooms.

Giving communities access to urgent care centers could significantly lower the number of unnecessary ER visits, even in poor towns like Reading. Pennsylvania urgent care centers charge lower rates than emergency rooms, but they offer comparable services to people who need basic medical treatment. In fact, recent studies have shown that as much as 50 percent of the conditions treated at emergency rooms could be handled less expensively at urgent care centers. That said, if your condition is life threatening, it is important to call 911 or visit your closest emergency room.

To assist with minor injuries and illnesses, as well as the preventative health topics and immunizations discussed previously, Pennsylvania residents also have a number of other walk-in clinic options available to them. Retail clinics, while not offering on-site physicians or x-ray and other diagnostic services, are excellent solutions minor healthcare needs. You can typically find them inside pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS or even large retail stores like Walmart or even grocery stores. They are generally less expensive than an urgent care and offer similar hours.

Additionally, Pennsylvania has a number of walk-in community clinics offering discounts to low-income families, and sometimes even feature free services, such as vaccinations.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Pennsylvania cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Pennsylvania or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Pennsylvania, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
