My husband & I tested positive for COVID this AM. We both were able to very conveniently make online appointments for medical evaluations within 30 minutes of our requests. The UC Village-Albany Urgent Care clinic is modern and attractive with highly efficient, very welcoming, friendly, professional & personable administrative and medical staffs. All of the medical personnel have very kind and empathetic bedside manners and listened very well to (and heard!) and were responsive to our medical concerns and questions. We both were in and out of our appointments within 30 minutes. We are very appreciative and truly grateful to have your clinic so conveniently located near our home. Please keep up the great work!

Urgent care
Wait time was good, got in at 1:40pm for my 1:30pm appointment. Staff was friendly and explained things to me. I did kind of get the impression that they were tired of me because I was trying to ask clarifying questions to make sure that later on I will not be thinking about the questions I was afraid to ask :P. It’s very easy for me to just accept what I’m told, and not ask anything, but I’m trying to learn to advocate for myself because it seems like that’s what is needed in healthcare. But I could tell they were definitely getting tired of me asking my dumb questions and just repeating answers they already gave because I was obviously didn’t hear it the first time. I probably need to work on my communication skills because I don’t feel like either of us felt like we were getting through to the other person. It felt like we both felt like we knew what the other person was saying and that they just weren’t willing to hear it.

Urgent care
I was able to schedule a 9:00 appointment during the early morning hours.  We had to wait for two other people to check in.  Given the increased volume of patients and people without appointments, we were taken back very quickly.   The doctor was very kind and thorough in her examination.  Her diagnosis was accurate.  I would recommend this provider with respect to the doctor we saw.  We had been to the urgent care the night before, right before they closed and that doctor was not thorough.  He didn’t look at my son’s nose or throat or check his breathing.

I made my appointment online and was able to get an appointment for two hours later. Once there, I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen, but luckily my schedule allowed for the wait. Perhaps the Staff needed more time with other patients. I received the care I needed, and I recommend this Clinic.

Urgent care
Great first experience. The only issue I have is that no one there answers the phone. We got a prescription sent to a pharmacy (our standard one) and the pharmacy didn’t have it in stock. Because carbon health does not answer the phone, where I could have had them submit the scrip to a new pharmacy, I needed to be the middle person on a wild goose chase between the pharmacy that didn’t have the medication and one that did. This is a very stressful position to be in as a parent with a very sick kid who desperately needs medicine. Other than that one component, I was happy with the experience. I reflected my disappointment under “staff friendliness”, as I wasn’t sure where else to put it. Staff wasn’t unfriendly, they just didn’t answer the phone.

The entire staff was amazing! Very professional! The intske lady was very professional, knd, warm & friendly. The nurse made me feel comfortable and he understood why I was there! The doctor was very informative and listened to me with empathy. She examined my ribs and immediately had a strategy on what she was going to do so she can help me take care of my ribs! The xray tech, even though she was a student, acted very professional & I felt she knew exactly whst she was doing! The outtake nurse was so kind and gentle when she taught me how to wrap my ribs! This was my first time and I felt I was in good hands the entire time! Thank you so much!

How Much Does Urgent Care Cost In San Francisco?

The cost of urgent care in San Francisco can vary widely depending on several factors, such as the type of care required and your insurance coverage. Typically, urgent care centers offer a more budget-friendly option compared to emergency room visits, but the total cost can still change based on individual circumstances.

When you visit an urgent care clinic, the nature of your medical issue is a key factor in determining the costs. For example, a straightforward visit for a minor issue like a cold or a small cut may result in lower fees than more complicated services like X-rays or lab tests. Moreover, if a procedure is necessary, such as stitches or splinting, this can also raise the overall cost of your visit.

Insurance coverage significantly impacts the cost of urgent care as well. Patients with health insurance might notice that their out-of-pocket expenses differ based on their specific plan, deductible, and copayment requirements. Some insurance plans may charge a lower copay for urgent care visits compared to emergency room visits, making it a more economical choice. However, those without insurance or with high-deductible plans may encounter higher upfront costs.

Additionally, some urgent care clinics provide clear pricing or membership options, which can help clarify costs and potentially reduce fees for regular users. For uninsured patients, many clinics may offer sliding scale fees or payment plans to accommodate various financial situations.

What is the cost of an urgent care visit in San Francisco without insurance?

The cost of an urgent care visit in San Francisco without insurance will vary, depending on the level of care you need. However, this can vary based on the specific clinic, the complexity of the medical issue, and any additional services required, such as lab tests or X-rays. Some clinics may also offer a flat fee for basic services, while others may charge separately for different treatments or procedures.

It's important for patients without insurance to inquire about pricing beforehand, as many urgent care centers provide transparent pricing and may offer discounts or payment plans to accommodate those paying out of pocket. Additionally, some clinics might have sliding scale fees based on income, which can help make care more affordable.
