I booked my appmt. Online for 5 pm.  Checked in early no problem. People kept walking & the little assistant kept bringing more people in before me. Finally the APRN noticed this happening & had to straighten problem out & I got in at 7 pm & spent the next 45 minutes being talked to & examine & going over my problem.  The receptionist was not aware of appmts taking precedence to “walk-ins”  well handled!!!

Accidentally dropped a grill cleaner with a knife like edge. It hit the top of my left foot and made a very deep cut. The blood was gushing out and no amount of pressure could stop it. I went Priority Urgent Care East Haven and was immediately taken care of. They cleaned the wound and gave me stitches. They were very kind and incredibly helpful. They also told me how to care for it. I need to return in 10 days to have the stitches removed and I am looking forward to seeing the staff again.

This hands down was my best urgent care experience i’ve ever had, and let me tell you this is not my first rodeo, lol!!! The staff was very attentive and friendly and made sure you either got the answers or information you needed or that you were comfortable while waiting for the Dr. to see you. I feel all of the staff should be recognized for their honest, hard work they all are exemplifying during this insane world we live in right now, they are doing such an amazing job. I hope they can be recognized and appreciated for the work that they are doing, I know that I appreciate all of them and applaud them and lastly THANK them for making my experience pleasurable; because as they all know being sick surely is no fun. But when you encounter people who are pleasant and helpful and just generally want to see you get well, it surely makes your experience better, so THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I know that’s something that is far and few between for ya’ll so i’ll yell it for ya!!! Keep up the amazing job, like I said it was the best Urgent Care visit i’ve had out of MANY!!!

I had the best experience - I am still shocked! I went in expecting long lines and wait times even though I booked an appt online in advance for the rapid covid test. I was pleasantly surprised. This place is top notch. They even took me in ahead of time. A very nice person checked me in which took 1 minute as we fill out paperwork in advance online. I was immediately walked to a private room. 1 minute later the person came in to administer the test. 3 minutes after that a lovely doctor came in. She was so nice, asked me my reason for the test ( new baby in family) and even advised that both my daughter and I take multi-vitamins. I was asked to come back in an hour for the results. I went for a walk and came back and results were handed to me right away. There was ample parking though one can also park right next store at large bowling alley lot. I highly recommend this urgent care facility.

It was great . The front desk staff was great. I was greeted upon arriving. I was forwarned the wait time may be long due to staffing. Once I was called the nurse was amazing. She was kind, thorough in her explanations and seemed sure of what she was doing. The facility was so clean and bright. She also apologized for the long wait but I didn’t care because I was already prepared. Everything went according to how she explained and I will Definitely be returning . I m very impressed with the service. It’s great that they have the rapid cause I needed it for work. No one had it availability . Thank goodness I was told to try urgent care. I was looking at cvs and Walgreens and they had appointments for the next day. The first one I went to didn’t offer it but they sent me to you guys . Continue to maintain this level of professionalism no matter how big you get as a company. You guys are doing great

I’ve been sick for over a month. Respiratory related, mostly. They have always been our number one choice when we were unable to see our primary. I was frustrated a week ago because it seemed as though there was very little that they could do for me. I felt like I was not being heard. Today I went back to get tested for Covid. They were wonderful! Very supportive and compassionate. Last time they were unable to test me. They recommended the hospital if things got worse. I was afraid to go because of all of the germs. I honestly, know that they were frustrated that they couldn’t help me more last week. They now have the equipment and testing materials that they need. They are back to our number one urgent care facility!!!!! I know this is hard on all of us. I wish I’d been more understanding last week. It’s really hard to see things as they are and not how we are at the time we’re seeing and experiencing them.

This was my first time actually using this urgent care ctr. My family and others have used it in the past. I had no complaints other than the fact when I went in to give a urine sample there was already a urine sample inside the bathroom with a name label DOB etc.The bathroom wasn’t very clean either it was hair in the sink, tissues on the floor and it smelled a little like urine. Once I told the 1 staff She immediately took care of it. All staff were extremely friendly the person at the front desk is the face of the company and she did an outstanding job. My doctor listened and took in all the information and she had a great bedside manner. The young lady who took my BP Was so friendly and cheerful. The overall look of the office was up-to-date very clean and modern. I would not hesitate to go again in the future.

I was able to easily book an appointment online 15 hours in advance for a rapid covid test. A staff member called to confirm with a positive attitude. I had to wait comfortably in my car for only 20 minutes after I checked-in. The nurse was more than gentle when swabbing my nose. I experience high anxiety during covid swabbing along with pain as they shove the swab as far as they can in my nose. But with Physician One Urgent Care, I experienced no pain and anxiety with respect for my nose. I wish I could always use PhysicianOne every time when I need a covid test but I am only visiting Connecticut. This was the quickest in-and-out covid test. This place deserves more than five stars! Thank you for such a quick and wonderful experience!

I had my first Telemedicine call with Priority Urgent Care. When no one else would see me or call back they did. The Provider I spoke to was absolutely amazing. He was very calming and comforting, he answered all my questions. He was not only treating my symptoms he was so reassuring and I feel so much more confident now with the care I got and also the follow up care I will be receiving. I feel so much better now knowing I have this kind of medical support instead of before not having anyone. I highly recommend Priority Urgent Care if your looking for not only highly qualified intelligent medical providers but also the best bedside manor I have experienced from a medical Doctor in a very long time. I give them 5 stars ⭐️

I definitely definitely liked the fact that it was not a production line urgent Care. The doctor made me feel like I was the only patient that she had, she gave me instructions in a way that I would understand and she had no problem answering all of my questions no matter how long it took. This urgent Care is further away than the one I usually use which is right down the street from my house, but I am definitely going to make this the place that I go to when I need help. And I will recommend it to all of my friends. I was very pleased with the professionalism, and the thoroughness. I love this place. Thank you so much for giving me the care that I really really needed..

Once again ( I was there last week with Covid-19 symptoms and they tested me for the virus), they were absolutely wonderful ! I did not feel rushed at all and the practitioner was sympathetic to my medical issues and was very thorough. I felt blessed to have them see me and glad they are right down the road from me should I need another medical visit. A heartfelt thanks to all of the staff! All the staff were wonderful ! I felt blessed to have them there for me. They were kind, caring, efficient, and I would highly recommend them to others that have need of a medical visit. During these times we need more caregivers like them. A heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Urgent Care ! Charlene Sheehan.

I was referred by a co-worker today, 10/28/***, to PhysicianOne Urgent Care, to get tested for the Coronavirus. I liked the fact that I was able to complete the paperwork my cell phone, and submit it back to the office. The wait was about 1 hour to get tested, even though I had arrived around 5:00 pm, after work. Other medical facilities I'd gone to the wait was several hours long or you needed to return the next morning at 6 am to wait in line until it opened at 8 am, that didn't work for me. The staff at PhysicianOne Urgent Care was pleasant and the test wasn't bad at all, there was absolutely no pain or discomfort. I would definitely visit PhysicianOne Urgent Care in the future.

Thank you so much for seeing me in such short notice! From the front desk staff to the doctor everybody was GREAT I will highly recommend this urgent care before any other. Best urgent care I’ve been to in a very long time. Doctor was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was talking about she took the time to sit down and listen to me I did not feel rushed she actually listened to me you don’t see that a lot these days. The MA was so was AMAZING as well. The front desk girl was so nice to every single patient that walked into your clinic she was quick nobody waited long!!!! Thank you guys very much I will be back for all my future needs.

I went in for a strep and COVID test and they were incredibly quick and kind. There was no wait when I used Solv to pre-book a time, and the test results were rapid. This is the first urgent care clinic that I’ve been to that has really listened to me. They prescribed antibiotics without doing a culture for strep (I have a history of negative rapid strep tests but positive cultures and it sucks having to be miserable to 2-5 more days to find out I do in fact have strep). Overall they really paid attention to me and my concerns. I didn’t even know this clinic existed but now that I do that’s where I’ll go for all of my urgent care needs!

My first time ever going to Urgent Care 1 or any Urgent Visit. This would be my favorite place of visit for an Urgent Care visit. The provider and staff are friendly than any I've have came in contact with, very caring and professional. The wait time were just as one of the staff said to me as I walked up to the check-in. I were referred to go there by one of my primary doctor staff that Physicians Health of Yale at 1 Longwharf due to my doctor not being in the office. That Urgent Care #1 at *** Dixwell is associated with them. I were very, very happy in referring me to go at this location *** Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT ***

Was out of town when I became ill and had to visit Urgent Care. The people working here are seriously some of the kindest, most professional medical personnel I have ever treated with. Beth at the front desk went above and beyond, Jen Robinson the doctor was very patient answering my questions, the the PA who took my history (Brad? Can’t remember his name for sure, I was feeling pretty rough, but he is the young guy with an 11 month old baby at home) was just so kind and thorough. Their team totally impressed me, thanks for getting me back on the road to feeling good again!

I was surprised to hear that the wait was an hour and a half to two hours even with a scheduled appointment. The receptionist kindly explained that it is an urgent care and they were no longer accepting walk ins. Ok. I was happy when I was called back in the office to be seen 40 minutes later. Not as bad as estimated. The visit was quick and all staff was pleasant and personable. Always nice to walk by staff and have them acknowledge you even if they are not personally involved with your care.

The professionals at AFC Urgent Care Stamford are great. Whether by teleconference or in person, the entire staff treated me with kindness and concern. Jessica Rodriguez is the manager of this well run operation. She scheduled my appointments at times that were convenient for me. Naomi at the reception desk is warm, welcoming, and very efficient. Nurse Stephanie is the best. She made a swab test quick and painless. And Najera is a great phlebotomist with a gentle touch. Thank you to everyone at AFC Urgent Care Stamford for a very pleasant experience.

It was very easy to check in via my phone and they call you when it’s your time to walk into the urgent care facility. All of the staff members are really friendly and the facility was very clean, as well as the staff really caring about Covid protocol. I had my appointment with Lillian and she was VERY nice, friendly, and she kept me informed about all of the information that was going on during my visit. 10/10 ~ would recommend this urgent care facility to anyone!

- Verified patient on 1/25

The PA I met with was friendly, caring and attentive. She made me feel really comfortable about sharing my symptoms and she also provided a few recommendations on what I could do in order to help address my symptoms. She was really wonderful and is the reason why I had such a positive experience, which is not always the case when I have had appointments with Urgent Care. I would recommend her and the staff to anyone who is in need of a tele-health appointment!

The Premier Urgent care in Newington is amazing. We have ALWAYS had fantastic experiences there. Wait time is not long at all. That’s why we choose to go there for any medical or health issues. Staff has always been amazing. There is one particular nurse that has been there a long time, who is the absolute nicest kindest person. She is so sympathetic and is great with little kids to. The covid test was also quick and painless. Overall, the BEST walk in around.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this facility. From the receptionist to the treatment staff, everyone was cordial, welcoming, professional & knowledgeable. I was treated with the utmost respect in a thorough, professional manner. This is the very same office that diagnosed his heart attack years ago & saved his life. My family is so fortunate to live in close proximity to Physician One Urgent Care. In time of need this is the only urgent care facility I would choose.

Urgent Care in Connecticut

In Connecticut, the majority of the hospitals and healthcare providers are nonprofit. This ensures that those who visit these facilities get the care that they need regardless of their insurance coverage or their ability to pay. That said, there are a limited number of urgent care and walk-in clinics in the state, thus driving higher demand for hospital emergency rooms.

Urgent Care in Connecticut

There are 28 acute care hospitals in the state of Connecticut, each with an emergency room. In addition, there are stand-alone urgent care clinics in the state available to treat many common illnesses and injuries that are not serious enough for an emergency room. Everything from fractured bones to sore throat can be taken care of at these walk-in clinics while allowing patients to get the care that they need quickly and easily.

Understanding Healthcare in Connecticut

Each year, the emergency rooms in the state get about 1,600,000 visits. The majority of these visits are due to circulatory and digestive problems. However, a large number of the visits could easily be taken care of by Connecticut urgent care centers or walk-in clinics.

With a large number of elderly who live in the state, as well as many college-age students, the climate of Connecticut's healthcare needs is varied. Many emergency room visits are necessary, such as those who have heart attacks and other life threatening emergencies. However, those with illnesses or injuries such as bronchitis or broken bones can efficiently visit Connecticut urgent care clinics.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Connecticut cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Connecticut or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Connecticut urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Connecticut are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Connecticut take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Connecticut urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • How do I book an appointment online with an urgent care in Connecticut?

Solv allows Connecticut residents and visitors to book urgent care visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

  • How can I find an urgent care in Connecticut who takes my insurance?

Solv allows you to find any of the urgent care and walk-in clinics in Connecticut, many of which accept most major commercial insurances. Just browse the clinics page to see if your carrier and plan is listed. If you are still unsure, it is best to contact the urgent care center directly for clarification.

Virtual urgent care visits are generally booked online whether in advance or on-demand. Clinics that do offer virtual care have a video icon on their profiles.

  • What is the best urgent care center in Connecticut?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Connecticut, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. For some consumers, that could mean the closest location whereas other people may prioritize patient reviews, service costs, availability, or whether or not the provider accepts their insurance. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
