I was not aware that patients can preregister. The wait time was over two and one half hours. The staff was pleasant considering their heavy work load. I would recommend this facility to my family and friends. The Nurse Practitioner was exceptional, the assistant was not. The waiting room was cold and the women’s bathroom commode had a flushing problem that I resolved.

Very satisfied with the excellent care I received today. Wait time was long, however, there were many clients waiting to be seen, prior to me getting there. I would recommend this provider.

To the Owner: please remember that your front line people represent your Center as a first impression. If you call and the receptionist gives you a negative attitude bbecause you asked a question that required more than a yes or no answer, she sighs and says "ok, I'll check" you already get the impression that this is not a top notch Center willing to find the the information you are requesting without sounding like it is an inconvenience. Is an online check in a feature you offer? I cant tell. Your web site mention in one ad but not another and your staff doesnt mention it. Your front line people must be equally receptive to telephone and in person inquiries. They need to realize that they work for the patient and family foremost. Also, if you have been referred to an online schedule to see which doc or PA or NP is working, then it should be much easier to locate and it should be user friendly to decipher. It is not difficult to design a simple staff schedule intended to assist patients rather than one designed for staff. Since you are listed as primary care, your patients should be able to find out if "their" doctor is on duty, quickly and easily. With a few changes, your Center could be consistently rated 5's. I have been a nurse manager most of my career so I hope you see my suggestions in the positive light they were intended. A little privacy at the check in desk would also be appreciated by most patients. Thank you for providing space for patients & families to comment.

About Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing

Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing is a set of diagnostic tests and assessments designed to evaluate an individual's risk of developing diabetes. This testing helps identify early signs of insulin resistance and prediabetes, enabling healthcare providers to implement preventive measures and lifestyle interventions to reduce the risk of diabetes onset.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Russellville, South Carolina, and have risk factors for diabetes, Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing is recommended. Individuals who are overweight or obese, have a family history of diabetes, lead a sedentary lifestyle, have high blood pressure, or have other risk factors should consider this test. Early detection of prediabetes allows for timely interventions to prevent or delay the progression to type 2 diabetes.

Tests Included in Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing

Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing may include the following tests and assessments:

  1. Fasting Blood Glucose Test: Measures blood glucose levels after an overnight fast to identify early signs of elevated blood sugar.
  2. Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): Evaluates how the body processes glucose over time, providing insights into insulin resistance and prediabetes.
  3. Hemoglobin A1c Test: Assesses average blood glucose levels over the past 2-3 months, helping identify long-term glucose control and prediabetes.
  4. Blood Pressure Measurement: Checks blood pressure levels, as hypertension is a risk factor for diabetes.
  5. Body Mass Index (BMI) Calculation: Assesses body weight in relation to height, helping identify overweight or obesity, which are risk factors for diabetes.
  6. Assessment of Lifestyle Factors: Evaluates physical activity levels, dietary habits, and other lifestyle factors that may contribute to diabetes risk.

Frequency of Testing

The frequency of Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing may depend on an individual's risk profile and healthcare provider's recommendations. For individuals with risk factors for diabetes, testing may be conducted annually or as advised by the healthcare provider.

Following the Test

If Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing identifies prediabetes or early signs of insulin resistance, your healthcare provider will discuss lifestyle modifications and interventions to reduce the risk of diabetes. Recommendations may include weight management, increased physical activity, and dietary changes. Regular monitoring and follow-up assessments will be advised to track progress and ensure early intervention.

Diabetes Risk Assessment Testing is a proactive step in managing diabetes risk and promoting a healthier lifestyle to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
