Short Wait Time

The front staff and medical assistant were very nice. They always have a short wait time which is a plus. However the physician I had was clearly in a rush and not really interested in listening to me concerns. She also called in my prescription under the wrong name and it took over an hour to sort it out at the pharmacy.

Being a nurse myself I love the Covid precautions that Family Urgent Care is taking (people waiting in their car.) Service time was definitely nice. The nurse that performed my test was nice, gentle (some just ram into your nose) and professional. Definitely would recommend.

Very good. Had a covid test and the technician was very knowledgeable and put me at ease.

The receptionist where I checked in was very friendly. She told me to go back to my car and wait and someone would be out to do my test for me. A short time later a nurse came out to do my test. I had a couple of questions which she answered And explained everything to me. The test was fast and painless. I would definitely go back.

I went in scanned my QR codes, filled out my forms and received my test, 10 minutes total from check in to done.

Very friendly efficient staff. Office was very clean. Results were given within the stated time. They answered any questions or concerns we had with knowledge. We like being able to get a rapid PCR test here. Costs hopefully, will be covered by our insurance.

Parked for covid testing—called from car for checking, and nurse came outside to perform the swab—couldn’t have been easier. Thank you.

- Verified patient on 9/18

I was in and out for a covid test. Most importantly Jen is great. I walked out of a other clinic due to rude staff. Glad I found this one

- Verified patient on 10/27

My testing process was very quick and registration was super easy. The technicians were friendly and patient. Wait times were long but we are in a Covid surge again. My best advice to others is to get there early or risk waiting outside in the freezing temps for a while before you get in. It’s first come, first served as the booking an online appointment doesn’t mean anything at this clinic.

Thank you for doing what you do for us and for being kind with an awkward testing lol

- Verified patient on 11/23

I went here to get a Covid Test. The receptionist seemed very spaced out and bothered. On the other hand the woman who gave me the test was very nice and helpful. The process was very quick, maybe less than ten min. I just wish I could've gotten the rapid results instead of having to wait four days for them. I can't work until I get the results.

Schererville Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
