Scheduling appt was easy, wait time after arriving was an hour after scheduled appt time. Once brought into exam room everything was addressed in an appropriate amount of time and received results quickly. Staff were all nice but would appreciate if they could update people in waiting room when they are running late and what the expected wait time is for people waiting to be seen

Recent Lab Tests Reviews (20)

I went with my elderly mother with her walker. We needed Covid tests. The phone messages told me we needed an appointment and then told me we didn't. That was Wed morn. We couldn't get our tests until Saturday night at 8:30. When we showed up on Saturday night, again with Mom all bundled up from the cold with her walker, they insisted we wait outside in the car in the cold. We both had symptoms of covid and Mom had a heavy cough. We both tested positive. I think the staff could have been a little more intelligent in how they treated a sick, disabled, 86 year old lady despite protocols.

It was so nice to see a friendly smile and a clean environment. I have gotten the covid test many times and some places were so sketchy, filthy and I waited for hours. So it was nice to be treated human. I loved the app where you sign in from the car and wait and I loved how friendly and personable that staff was. The wait time wasn’t bad at all during these covid times. Thank you for a pleasant experience in these not so pleasant times!

at West Islip, NY location, after online check-in, front desk response via text very quickly and provide further instruction. i definitely highly recommended this location For the same Pro Health Urgent care at different location, I got a very good first impression for a different visit prior. i was planning on going back to this location again for another testing at their late hour operation; unfortunately, there were some miscommunication and lack of response from the front desk after my arrival at their parking lot and did an online check in. the text message reminder was great and useful; but i got an conflicting text just before leaving home for the appointment saying my appointment time do not offer Covid-test, i need to go at least half hour early before my appointment time. so i rushed to location at least 25 minutes before my appointment time and did an online check in; i never gotten any response from front desk. after waiting past my appointment time, I walked up to the front door seeing a note saying do not enter unless has appointment and didn't see anyone at the front desk. i assumed clinic had closed for the day. this led me to book and visit the West Islip location

I’m a transplant patient they got me in right away for a Covid test and it turns out I am positive I know it’ll sound like a stretch but if they didn’t perform the test when they did God knows what would happen to me I could not get a test anywhere and you guys great thank you so much

Very unexpected, I walked in a few mins before my Rapid Covid test appt I was greet by 2 very cheerful young ladies, they took my info right away so I wouldn't have to sign in on tablet. I was told yo wait outside and they would call me. I did paperwork on my phone and was immediately called in. Everyone was extremely friendly and when the NP came in with my results all cheery and obviously smiling under her mask I figured my test was negative. The longest part of the entire process was the 20 mins for the results.

Went in for a covid test and I was in and out, just the way I like it.

- Verified patient on 3/8

It was easy to sign up. I did wait outside and the website said there were 2 people ahead of me but people kept walking in. Finally they texted to come in and I waited inside for about 10 min. The nurse who administered the Covid test was awesome but the nurse or dr or pa who came in to tell me the results was a little rude. She seemed annoyed with my questions but all in all not bad and I would recommend

Even though I was fully vaccinated in March, I was experiencing flu like symptoms and felt that perhaps I might have been exposed to covid 19. And went for a rapid covid test which was negative, and the physician's assistant Matt diagnosed my bronchitis and prescribed the appropriate medication. The staff was efficient and friendly, and I was out in just over 30 minutes. Highly recommended

West Islip Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
