They didn't ask when I first had symptoms and that would have determined the outcome of a covid test. They could have suggested I wait at least another day before returning there. As a result, I tested negative at AFC and positive two days later. As a result, my $55 copay was wasted.

Woke up that morning in severe pain in my back and upper rib cage.  I had been feeling that pain for about a week and during that week it got predominately worse.  The wait time was over two hours.  That was the worse thing about my visit.  Other than that the visit and doctor were very professional.  Yes, I would recommend this provider.

Overview of STD Testing in Newark

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs. This is particularly important for those with multiple sexual partners, individuals who engage in unprotected sex, or those who have been notified by a partner about a recent STD diagnosis. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested to prevent transmission to their unborn child. According to the CDC, regular STD testing is a critical part of maintaining good sexual health.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is vital for multiple reasons. First, many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not know it. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and organ damage. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications. Additionally, knowing your STD status can help protect your partners from potential infection.

For those without insurance or who are concerned about cost, free STD testing may be available at community health centers in and around Newark. These centers often provide confidential testing services, regardless of your ability to pay.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits are another option. These can be ordered online and used in the privacy of your own home, with results typically available within a few days. This can be a good option for those who value privacy or are unable to visit a clinic.

While specific data for Newark, DE is not readily available, the state of Delaware has seen an increase in STD rates in recent years, mirroring a national trend.
