After 3 days of not feeling well went to our nearest AFC UC and was greeted with friendly faces and helpful staff. Confirmed my illness with testing by Breyahana and meds sent to my pharmacy (although not a lot of explanation about meds by NP Perry - just advised to take them b/c of age related to diagnosis.) In/out in less than 35 minutes. Overall satisfied with our visit!

Came in for a covid test appt. at 8:30am. Got here a little early like Recc. Which was good. We got in the room pretty quickly. Vitals were taken…not sure why. And then we waited and waited. After the actual covid test we waited a little more and left at 9:45am. 1hr for a swab in the nose. Good staff and everything was clean! But for next time, getting the drive through covid test at cvs.

I went in with my 3 kids to get tested. The ladies at the front counter were so amazing. They knew I was juggling a lot with 3 kids and myself to get tested for Covid. Our male nurse who helped in the room was also great. He was so good with the kids and made the process easy.

Went in with symptoms of upper respiratory distress presenting similar to Covid. Test was quick, results were negative. Left with better answers and a plan to kill the bacteria in the lungs to get me breathing again.

I found out last minute that I needed a covid 19 test. I needed a quick test due to the time availability of needing the results, and they accommodated me even though they were booked for the day. I would highly recommend them I had a great experience.

Always dependable to get me in for Covid testing when I am exposed at work. Wait times are a little long but worth it to get in same day! 3rd visit for this purpose and I would say it takes about 45 minutes each time. Not awful but something to keep in mind if you are on a time crunch.

I don't know what I would have done if I didn't find this place! I went to another facility for testing and did not receivemy results in time. I booked easily with this lab and I received my test results quickly and was able to board my plane for my trip. Thank you!!!

From the beginning with Cindy, we were put at ease and handled with great care. Nikki took great care of us in the exam room and we all shared some laughs. Tanisha delivered our test results and was very professional and friendly.

Was very easy to make a COVID testing appt online. They texted when they were ready for us to come inside because I didn't want to wait inside with my young daughter. Once we were taken back, we only waited a few minutes before the tech came in and swabbed my daughter. We got results very quickly and left.

Excellent service. Very clean.no wait. Staff is friendly, caring and knowledgeable. My daughter was really scared of covid and strep test and Nikki was so gentle and made her feel at ease. I would highly recommend this urgent care and will definitely come here again

Great professional service from all of the staff. Carolyn smile was very pleasant, David was very gentle with performing my test, inspite of my noise continue to run. He was cautious. Dr Kelly was caring and took time out to explain what I should do about my symptoms. Clean, courteous, atmosphere.

Went for covid testing with symptoms so qualified for walk-in appointment; given current outbreak the wait time was very reasonable. Staff and doctor were very friendly and helpful. Check in process could be streamlined; once checked in waiting in car in parking lot is comfortable with effective sms notification when ready.

From my first phone call to find out if my insurance was excepted, to the second phone call telling them I went to the wrong location and was on way, to the testing and debrief of testing….100 % courteous, professional, absolutely outstanding!!!

The staff was awesome! Lalaya got my daughter signed in so fast. They were busy, but Marie got us back fast. Seiji answered all my questions and told what I should do. He really made me feel comfortable. Highly recommend this urgent care for COVID testing and any non emergency needs.

I was able to book before I arrived. I was greeted and checked in, was screened because I presented with a chest infection. The wait was very brief. I was tested for coronavirus, x-rayed and prescribed antibiotics for my bronchitis. Everyone was friendly and professional. I would recommend them highly to anyone. Dr. Ho and the staff were outstanding.

The nurse and nurse practitioner was really nice . This is my second visit. I initially came to get myself tested, and then I needed to get my girls tested. My issue was with the front desk clerk Cindy, she seemed very flustered as if she was overwhelmed. This is a first because the last front desk associate that was there when i visited Tuesday was very kind and friendly. Cindy had an attitude and clearly cannot handle the front desk on her own.

James Ho MD It’s the Doctor Who discussed my results of a rapid Covid test. Thankfully it was negative. Dr. Ho was able to answer my numerous questions with patience and understanding. He was extremely pleasant. I didn’t take the time to get the name of the nurse who assisted in the process but she also was patient, pleasant & kind.

I didn't rate wait time because there was a very long wait time due to tons of people showing up to get COVID testing. I was one of the last ones seen and had waited a long time but the staff was very organized and pleasant even though it had been a very long, busy day for them.

- Verified patient on 12/31

My nurse from the start, and Dr. Emily Wheeler were both outstanding! Emily was thorough, efficient, pleasant, like an old friend I just met. Felt like I was being observed. assessed, and listened to by a personable seasoned pro, and the treatment she prescribed has helped my issues very much. Also great to get negative tests back within 15 minutes, on the spot for Strep and Covid. So glad this urgent care is in my neighborhood! Was in and out in less than hour! Remarkable and impressive. Highly recommend.

The nurse Nikki was so patient and kind with my 6 year old who was terrified of the Covid test. She called his nerves and was amazing. Very patient and kind doctor as well. Clean facility and very friendly front desk staff!

My second time visiting AFC. Just like the 1st visit...the staff was very efficient and friendly! The facility itself is very clean and modern. They even had a TV in the room I could watch while waiting for my test results.

- Verified patient on 1/19

Irene was awesome. She helped me understand all that was going to happen. Megan made sure my daughter knew the importance of her getting tested for flu and COVID. My daughter just turned 18 and I was trying to let her speak for herself and having Megan talk to her and answer all her questions was comforting.

We went on short notice with an appointment for a Covid Rapid Test. The lady who checked us in was extremely nice very thorough explaining their service and quickly helped us with the necessary forms. We waited in our car until we were notified by text when they were ready for us. We were quickly escorted to the patient room, where 2 very pleasant ladies went through their process, checked our vitals then performed the Covid Test. We waited about 15 minutes for the results. Another person, probably a P.A., came in with our results explained them for us and even checked my blood pressure again! She was also super nice, very knowledgeable and answered questions. Overall we were impressed with the AFC operation! Well done ladies! We will return to them next time we need care!

Charlotte Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed.

Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
