I developed a painful, red lump on my knee over 48 hours. It was interfering with my work and personal life. With the Covid pandemic ongoing, getting into my PCP would be near impossible. I went to the Urgent Care and was treated. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Within 30 minutes I was examined, diagnosed and prescribed antibiotics for cellulitis on my knee. 24 hours later and I can already see (and feel) the difference! Thank you SOMC Urgent Care! Should have gone sooner!

Misdiagnosed. Brought my daughter in with fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes, sore neck& head congestion. Doctor immediately said not sinus congestion & gave her strep test & flu test- both negative and doctor said she thinks it mono & ordered a mono test. I told doctor I THOUGHT it might even be due to a possible tick bite since she went hiking in woods, but as of yet we hadn’t noticed rash yet as of this morning. She had exact same reaction when she was 7 when she had a tick bite. Doctor blew me off & just ordered mono test & said to go next week. Within 1 hr of being home we noticed a live tick attached to her neck. I removed the tick. Washed site with alcohol & drew around the red rash to see if it continues to grow. I plan to call in morning to request the needed antibiotics since we already paid our $55 co-pay. I SHOULDNT have to pay again.

I was there two hours for a 10 minute strep test and Covid test. Everyone was nice. But it took forever.

Amazing. Nurse Charles was top notch GREAT. He was very kind to my little boy, 3 yrs old. He tried all tests (temp, oxygen, heart rate) on me to make sure equipment worked properly before waking my very sick child to work him up. I thought was above and beyond compassionate and really appreciated his kindness. He explained all tests to me before doing anything to him (strep, flu, and covid). We were checked on frequently. He was seen quickly but i did not feel like we were being rushed in and out. The NP or PA who saw him was great as well. She was very kind and made sure all concerns were addressed. I've been to CMS urgent care before and I've always been happy with the care I've received. Thanks again Charles for your kindness and care. We appreciate you!

We were both sick on New Year’s Day. Lots of sick people, and no one wants to go to the ER. My sore throat was bad enough for me to worry about strep. Our regular urgent care facility was closed without any announcement. We stopped at two other facilities and saw long lines and hopeless faces. When I walked into your facility, it was crowded, as was the parking lot. Nevada, the receptionist, was friendly and unperturbed. She told us we could fill out papers in our car. When I asked about the wait, she said 3 hours, but somehow I believed your facility was worth the wait. We went home close by, checked in twice, and then Nevada told us to come in. We were in the lobby a short while, sat in the exam room a while, met a nice nurse, got tested for strep, met Cindy the Nurse Practitioner, got happy results, and went home. Keep up the good work. Do whatever you need to do to keep such cheerful staff on a holiday!

My experience was excellent. I had a video talk with a PA who ordered a COVID test and called in an antibiotic. I also had an exam and strep test with a Nurse Practitioner. The wait was short and the staff were very nice and professional. I am so grateful I was able to be seen, tested, and treated close to home and on the same day I called in.

Absolutely amazing! Quick, professional, and kind. The nurse that swabbed for my strep test 10/10! She made me gag a little, but said it’s better that way.

I conveniently made an appointment and was seen in my car in back after I checked in. It felt safe and the PA who saw me was very nice and explained everything (I had a covid and strep throat test)

Took my son in with general viral symptoms and Erin, NP was so helpful in navigating the option to test for strep and Covid to determine the treatment plan. The other two nursing staff were also so helpful and communicated via text on the wait time for results, Covid result paperwork showing negative and a school note. With the current state of healthcare and stresses of Covid the staff showed nothing but compassion and great customer service! Thank you for taking such great care of our community!

I came in on a Saturday at about 4. The staff there was very friendly. When I told them everything that was going on the doctor that I had was very worried and due to how high my fever was. I loved the fact that they didn’t pressure me to do my test granted I did say yes to them all just to figure out what I had. The doctor would just say I would recommend but it’s up to me if I want to do it or not and I liked that any other immediate care places I’ve gone to don’t ask they just do it. Granted the doctor couldn’t figure out what I have but prescribed me med for the flu and strep just in case and to help fight what I have. I would definitely do that 40 min drive again to use that facility

I came in because I was having cold/flu/virus symptoms and requested to be tested for COVID, strep, flu, etc. They told me I could only be tested for COVID and if I was negative, then I would need to come back and pay for an entire second appointment. I tested negative for COVID. After paying to come back a second time, the receptionist was very short with me and seemed to not care. However once being sat in a room, the nurse and doctor were extremely kind and friendly. I ended up testing positive for strep throat instead of COVID, and the doctor was very helpful with prescriptions etc. In hindsight I’m not sure if the receptionist was following COVID protocol, or just trying to rip me off and get me to leave. (Once again staff behind the doors was kind and helpful)

They where great. Their bedside manner was amazing and as a bonus I didn’t even throw up when she did the streptococcus test!! I always do until now. They both were very understanding and spoke up due to my hearing loss. Thank you.

Couldn’t get anyone to see my daughter in person for strep until I came across Springboro Premier and they got me right in and the overall experience was A+! I couldn’t thank them enough

Was super quick. Pa wasn’t very friendly but that’s ok if I get the care I need. However I was told my rapid strep came back negative and they were sending out the other strep test and gave me an rx to take if it was positive. Now I can’t find out if it was. Not in my portal and no one answered

I don’t write positive reviews very often (or any reviews, really), but these guys deserve it! I’m in between health insurance right now (it should have activated today but— due to a paperwork mishap—my insurance could not find me in the system). These guys were so great and worked around it! I very obviously have strep and called around, looking for any urgent care that would take me. Most said they would take me tomorrow and that I’d have to wait in my car since I have a fever. Ummm, no, I have razor blades in my throat. Get me in today. These guys had plenty of capacity, were truly concerned for my well-being, and super professional and kind the whole time. They even pulled a couple things so I’d have to pay less. I am extremely happy with them and will be going back in the future (hopefully not; but I will go there if I have to!). They even gave me my antibiotics then and there! Fantastic!

On 3-23-21 I awoke with laryngitis and chest congestion with a cough and sought immediate medical attention to rule out pneumonia. It was easy to secure an appointment on line. DeAnna greeted me at the front desk and took my insurance information and informed me because of an unexpected demand in care it would be an hour to an hour and a half wait. She suggested waiting in my car since I had a cough and I enjoyed reading my book during this time. DeAnna informed me they would call me when they were ready to see me and I could come in the back door. In one hour, I was called and conveniently greeted in the back door and immediately seen by Kelly who took my medical history and vitals. Dr. Doug Batchelor ruled out Covid 19, a Strep infection, and pneumonia to my relief and I was treated with an antibiotic and medication for cough. Dr. Batchelor and staff were extremely professional and kind and attentive. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

Love this place. So convenient to make an appointment and less exposure to seasonal viruses. I’ve been for a couple of Covid tests, a strep test, and a hip issue and got X-rays on the spot. I would recommend this to anyone. Friendly and efficient!

I was pleasantly surprised. We came in without an appointment and the check in process was very smooth. We had to spend virtually no time in the waiting room as the front office staff checked us in quickly and then we completed the registration in the car. The wait time was surprisingly short considering everything going on right now with Covid. Both the nurse and the provider were great. Very friendly and professional. The front office employee was also very kind and efficient. I commend this team for working under such stressful times in healthcare during a pandemic. I’m a pharmacist and I understand the pressures. I wouldn’t have scored them lower even if I’d had to wait much longer because it’s just so tough right now with the pandemic but they were very efficient and test results came within 20 minutes for strep and Covid. Provider updated us when strep came back negative and then again when Covid was negative. This team did a beautiful job and treated my 13 year old daughter with respect and caring attitudes. Definitely recommend and will use this location again!

Arrived at the Scottsdale location and was immediately greeted by desk reception. Person explained the process and I started to register using a QR Code. Registration process was quick and easy. I was even able to take a photo of my driver’s license and insurance card to upload. I was in the waiting room for roughly 5-10 minutes before being called into the treatment area. That was so fast that I barely had enough time to complete the registration….awesome! The triage person took my vitals, asked why I was being seen, and swabbed my throat for strep. Not the friendliest person but she performed her services well. I was then taken to an exam room where I waited for less that 5 minutes for a provider who entered into the room to exam and diagnose me. Ryan was his name and he was a FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner). Great guy with a great bedside manner too. Explained everything extremely well and I was discharged within another 5 minutes. I waited in the patient waiting room for another 2 minutes for my discharge paperwork. The whole visit took virtually no time. The facility was extremely clean and everyone was required to wear a mask. Thru accept tons of insurance plans and because I had met my deductible, I was not required to pay for anything. I would highly recommend using this Urgent Care Facility and I would not hesitate to return should I need to be seen in the future.

I came in with a sore throat and a lose of voice. Assuming I had COVID or strep I decided to go to Baptist Health Urgent Care on Zero Street, Fort Smith AR. The nurse who took my blood pressure and swabbed for test was very nice. Sadly I didn’t get to catch her name. Though the nurse practitioner Scott was amazing during my appointment. He was very friendly, caring and professional. Unfortunately I was confirmed positive with COVID and there isn’t much you can do with a viral infection. He was nice enough to prescribe me some medication to help with my aching sore throat. The only downsides to my visit today was the wait time but when you have so many people walking in, you’re expected to wait longer. Also, the app seems to be glitched out, after I checked in I could see the wait list and what position I’m in. The app decides to not give me the link to check on it after an hour or so past. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. A reminder to all the health workers that you’re doing an amazing job!

Rarden Strep Tests

To establish whether you have group A or group B strep, strep tests are commonly employed. Strep throat is caused by the bacteria Group A strep, which is a sore throat infection. Although Group B strep bacteria can be present in the vaginal area, as well as the digestive and urinary systems, it rarely causes symptoms.

Your doctor may order a strep A test if you have symptoms of strep throat, such as a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, or enlarged lymph nodes. Both a rapid and a traditional strep test can be used to diagnose Strep A, and both are performed in the same way.

During a strep A test, you will be instructed to tilt your head back and open your mouth wide. A tongue depressor will be used to gently keep your tongue down while a long swab is used to take a tissue sample from the back of your throat. The strep A test is harmless and rapid, although it might be uncomfortable. The quick strep test provides results in minutes, but the standard test takes one to two days to complete.

Only pregnant women between the ages of 36 and 37 weeks are usually tested for strep B. Because Group B strep dwells in the vaginal and rectum, it can be passed on to a newborn as it travels through the birth canal. A swab or a urine sample can be used to test for strep B.

During a strep B swab test, you or your doctor will collect tissue and fluid samples from your vaginal and rectum using a cotton swab. For a strep B urine test, your doctor will ask you to urinate into a sterile cup. After that, your sample will be sent to a laboratory for further analysis, with results arriving in one to two days.

Your doctor will consult with you to establish the best course of action if your strep test is positive. Antibiotics are often used to treat infections such as strep A and strep B. Antibiotics are commonly administered to a mother with strep B during delivery through an IV line to prevent the infection from spreading to her baby.

Strep Test FAQs

  • How long does a strep test take in Rarden?

A strep test usually only takes a few minutes. A throat swab is used for the strep A test, whereas a cotton swab or a urine sample is used for the strep B test. Your healthcare provider can tell you how long your strep test will take based on the procedure used.

  • What happens if you test positive for group B strep?

Adults seldom show symptoms or get sick with Group B strep, but it can be dangerous for newborns. Antibiotics are commonly given to pregnant women who test positive for group B strep to keep the illness from spreading to the baby as it goes through the birth canal. Because the infant will not be exposed to germs in the delivery canal, antibiotics are not required for women with group B strep who are having a scheduled Cesarean section.

  • How much does a strep test cost in Rarden?

A strep test's price is influenced by a variety of criteria, including provider rates, the type of test (throat swab, vaginal swab, or urinalysis), geographic region, and if your health plan covers this treatment. Getting an estimate from your health insurance company or the step test company is the quickest way to figure out how much a strep test will cost.

  • Does insurance cover strep testing in Rarden?

Most health insurance companies will cover the cost of strep testing, particularly if your doctor believes it is medically necessary based on your symptoms and current health state. Contact your insurance carrier directly to learn more about your coverage and benefits, or ask your strep testing provider if they can do a complimentary insurance benefits check on your behalf.

  • How do they test for strep throat?

The strep throat A test can be conducted to determine whether or not you have strep throat. Your doctor will initially ask you to sit back in your chair and open your mouth wide. Then, using a long cotton swab, they'll extract a tissue sample from the back of your throat. This testing approach is used in both the rapid and normal strep A tests.

  • How long does it take to get strep test results?

The rapid test for strep A takes 10 to 20 minutes to complete, whereas the standard test takes 24 to 48 hours. A strep B test normally takes 24 to 48 hours to produce results. Your doctor or the strep test provider can give you a clearer idea of when you should expect your results.

  • What is a rapid strep test?

A rapid strep test can only be used to diagnose group A strep. This test looks for antigens, which are chemicals that elicit an immune response. A rapid strep test is similar to a standard strep test in that it delivers you results in minutes rather than days. A throat swab was used as a test.

  • How accurate is the rapid strep test?

A fast strep test can provide a trustworthy result. Some practitioners may order a classic strep A test if the quick test results are negative and the patient has multiple symptoms of strep throat. A standard strep A throat culture test is more accurate than a rapid strep A test, but it takes longer to acquire the results.

  • Where should I get a strep test in Rarden?

Strep testing is available from a variety of healthcare providers, including your primary care physician and urgent care clinics. If you're pregnant, a specialist such as a midwife or an OB-GYN may do the strep B test for you or refer you to one. You may also use Solv to find a lab in your area that provides high-quality strep tests and make an appointment for the same day.
