Urgent care
The nurse was friendly but not at all gentle in swabbing my nose for the pcr test. I let her know how much she was hurting me and I know it could have been done to the same effect a lot more gently. She also told me it would take 2-3 days to get pcr results. I was led to believe otherwise from your web site and the doctor who was very friendly came in after and said we should have it probably 24 hours.

The only thing I did not care for was the receptionist. She was a little snobbish and unwelcoming. However, everything else was very nice.

5 Stars for the best customer service I’ve ever witnessed at any establishment!! My 2-year-old son and I went to be seen today and I was so impressed with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the staff throughout our whole visit. When I went to turn on my car to leave, after multiple attempts, I found my car wouldn’t start. I immediately reached for my phone to call AAA or search for a local auto shop, but then found my phone had died… Since I live over 45 minutes away from this urgent care and I had my son in the car, I started to panic. I went back into the urgent care to ask if there was a local auto shop nearby and explained my situation. Immediately the front desk staff, Terisha & Jade jumped into action. Terisha went to get her car to pull it up next to mine to give it a jump. Jade set my phone up on her phone charger and turned on the TV to find a show to occupy my son while we worked on the car and offered him a lollipop. Wesley came out and set up the jumper cables and got my car running in a matter of a few minutes. I was truly so overwhelmed with gratitude to these 3 Good Samaritans. This week had been a hard week to say the least, but after this incredible kindness it really restored my faith in humanity. I can’t express in words how grateful I am to Terisha, Jade & Wesley for their help today. I highly recommend the Severna Park Urgent Care!

As always, Ouch Urgent Care was excellent. I love being able to book my appointment online and not have to worry about how long the wait will be just walking in! The staff here is always so friendly and welcoming, they greet me with a big smile and friendly conversation anytime I have to come in and that hasn't been my experience at other urgent care centers in the past so it's very much appreciated. I came in on February 7th because I had been dealing with cold symptoms for about 6 days at that point with pretty much zero improvements and was concerned I may have contracted the flu. They did a nose swab and 15 minutes later I was relieved to know I didn't have the flu, but sinusitis. The PA talked to me with genuine concern for how I was feeling, clearly demonstrated she had looked into my history and paid attention which is refreshing, and a few minutes later I was on my way with a prescription for a Z pack! It's been just over 24 hours and I'm already breathing so much better and feeling noticeably improved, thank you Ouch!

Doctor was quick only looked at throat and ears , never looked at computer to see what meds I was already on or health conditions I already have , had to tell her I am immune compromised because of meds and no spleen if she had looked she would of know that . There were 3 patients total from time I checked in till the time I checked out . I understand this is urgent care but I think the doctor should actual take the time to listen to patients lungs and to check them over a little more thoroughly. Just my opinion, I hadn’t been to your docs in for along time because it was same way last time . But I thought I would give it another try .

I should have come to PM Pediatrics in Parkville a long time ago! Everyone knows exactly how to treat their patients and family correctly. From nurse Bianca, to Dr. Klein and the M.A who directed us to our room (I really wish I got her name), you are all awesome. It renewed my confidence in urgent care after having a horrible experience at Patient First. My only suggestion is that specimens be labeled before leaving the patient's room but I know you handle those test with utmost care to avoid mixed up. I am glad there is an alternative place that patients can choose in our area. I will definitely drive a little further out to get the care my children deserved.

The service was excellent and Dr. Adrienne Suggs was awesome! He showed great care and compassion for my son and made us feel very comfortable with placing our care in his hands. Very informative and.... I was able to contact after leaving urgent care. He was very helpful and extended his services to me if I could think of anything else to ask!!.. In addition, we were greater by a beautiful face ! I don't remember her name, but she was very patient and informative as well... And to the Tech that took care of my son,I thank you for making us extremely comfortable.... I could see you smile ,even through the 😷.. Thanks to you ALL for a wonderful experience 😊❤

They have a much better online scheduler than other urgent care facilities, It was very easy to schedule an appointment and fill out the patient info ahead of time. I highly recommend doing your paperwork online and before your appointment. Things go much smoother that way. They are a busy facility, but try to get people in and out as quickly as possible. Doctor is very knowledgeable and nurses are hard workers. Most efficient urgent care I’ve been to. MUCH better than Rightime, which makes you wait forever! At this urgent care, you can actually get a person in the phone!

I had a slight fever , headache, body aches, congestion, coughing. I looked at other options for flu and CoVid testing but couldn’t get it done for several days. Called Ouch! Urgent care on recommendation of primary care physician’s office staff. I called and was told all appointments were full for today but to get in and I would be tested. When I arrived I called and was told to move to Cone 2. I sat in car and registered. Staff came and got my cards and later did nasal swab. Great service!

I have complicated health issues. All my healthcare providers were out of town and I had an emergency situation. I had my doubts about urgent care as I have received inadequate care at other places. But I gave these folks a try as a new patient. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of the staff listened well and treated me with kindness, respect, and competence. They really helped me and did so with a great attitude. I would not hesitate to use them again for myself or a family member.A+

I came for an ear irrigation. My appointment was for 9:30. I wasn’t seen until 10:10 Then the irrigation process went horridly. The nurse was obviously not versed in this area. It was painful and long and unsuccessful. I finally left at 11:15 because of another appointment. The nurse claimed she couldn’t see in my ear because the flashlight was being used. Only one light in an urgent care??? Disappointing visit. Waste of time making an appointment. The head doctor is And always has been amazing. Wish she could have stepped in

I had an excellent experience at Urgent Care. I had no waiting time at all. The front desk lady, Ashley, was ver kind, pleasant, and caring. She is exactly the kind of person you want to greet clients. The provider, Ashton, I think, was very caring, asked me appropriate question, and expressed her caring through conversation. Both ladies were very kind and compassionate, as well as ensuring I knew what was happening. I highly recommend this Urgent Care & the people were just lovely.

Tonight was extra busy and we were told it would be a long wait but I am so happy with the service here that I was willing to wait more than 2 hours (this was unusual, my wait time is usually 10-15 minutes) I didn’t want to go to a different urgent care. The staff are always friendly and pleasant. It is clean and welcoming and everything goes smoothly. Glad we found a nice place like this that is close to home.

Our experience was so much easier than imagined. Mary Beth Miller was so caring& informative in assisting with our appointment & paperwork. Mary Beth and Isha made a difficult day easier with their kind demeanors! Isha did the swab and she was very careful with making us feel comfortable with her process and PPE. Hoping you recognize them as valued members of your Ouch Urgent Care Team as they were Amazing. Thank you - Dan & Kath Wooden

First time patients, my family and I needed a COVID test. We had made an appointment at CVS, and when we arrived we were told we couldn’t take the tests. PM Pediatrics was quick to help us out. The staff was friendly and helpful and we are able to get our results the same day. I would recommend PM Pediatrics to others, and my wife and I would certainly bring our son back for urgent care.

I’m so thankful for Ouch! It’s been a few hours since my visit and I already feel a thousand times better. The facility was spotless, bright and welcoming. The staff was friendly and took the time to explain things thoroughly and answer all my questions. I was on the verge of tears when I arrived and they made me feel so much better. This will now definitely be my go-to for any future urgent care needs.

Feeling unwell I walked into the nearest Fast Track Urgent Care and was scheduled for a virtual appointment. I was impressed with the ease of logging in to speak to the medical assistant and then doctor. After a pleasant conversation describing my symptoms I was prescribed an antibiotic, which was called into a pharmacy of my choice. My expectations were exceeded by this encounter and I will most definitely use Fast Track again in the future.

I googled for an urgent care option after my son hand was shut in the car door. This place was in the list of results with great reviews. I called and made a appt but elected to walk-in. The staff was awesome ! The office was clean and they were prompt compared to other places. This is def my new go-to place for urgent care!

I’m so glad that my dad decided to brought me here. Every Physician, and all personal here was very helpful and friendly. Wait time was not that great but I can understand. Every one seems to be busy and not just sitting there doing nothing. They help me fixing my problem professionally. Thank you every one there at MedStar Urgent Care at Bel Air.

Dr. D was wonderful with my daughter. The receptionist was the epitome of grace under fire— it’s clearly a busy time with COVID tests, etc, and she kept us apprised of our place in the queue at all times. The nurse who took her vitals was also kind and efficient. We will definitely use Fast Track again for weekend / evening urgent care needs

Margo Pinson Yes I would highly recommend Urgent Care in Kensington, MD

my appointment was for 2pm and I go there about 10 mins early so I could do the paperwork. I didn’t even get taken to a room until 2:30 and wasn’t seen my a provider till 2:45. I didn’t get out of there until 3:15. I still prefer this place to other urgent cares but the wait time is absolutely ridiculous.

Urgent Care in Maryland

Unnecessary emergency room visits create higher medical bills while clogging hospitals that should only address the needs of seriously injured and sick patients. This is a particular issue in Maryland and their high poverty rates. In fact, Cumberland, Maryland is one of the nation’s poorest cities with a median household income of just $34,819, compared to the $50,502 national median. Poverty often forces people to use emergency rooms as primary caregivers. When a person cannot afford to visit a doctor, he or she often tries to ignore illness until it becomes an undeniable problem.

Urgent Care in Maryland

These issues could be alleviated if people with non-emergent illnesses and injuries utilized urgent care centers, as they are generally less expensive and more accessible than a hospital emergency room. Everything from fractured bones to sore throat can be taken care of at an urgent care while allowing patients to get the care that they need quickly and easily.

Walk-in Clinics in Maryland

In addition to urgent care centers, a variety of walk-in clinic types are available to Maryland residents and visitors. Given the cost and access issues, retail clinics are good alternative. A retail clinic is a type of walk-in clinic generally located inside of retail stores like big-box retailers such as Walmart and Target, or pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS. They offer treatment for minor injuries and illness, as well as preventative care and immunizations.

Understanding Healthcare in Maryland

Having health insurance doesn't assure that patients in Maryland receive appropriate care. The Baltimore Sun reports that many insurers in the state use "fail first" policies that require patients to take up to five treatments before they will cover the cost of newer medications. Insurers hope that this will save money, but it actually sends more patients to the ER with serious illnesses that could have been addressed earlier in treatment. Changing laws could help lower those numbers, but patients also need to know that they can visit walk-in clinics instead of high-priced emergency rooms to assist with preventative health concerns.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Maryland cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Maryland or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Maryland urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Maryland are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Maryland take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Maryland urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • How do I book an appointment online with an urgent care in Maryland?

Solv allows Maryland residents and visitors to book urgent care visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

  • How can I find an urgent care in Maryland who takes my insurance?

Solv allows you to find any of the urgent care and walk-in clinics in Maryland, many of which accept most major commercial insurances. Just browse the clinics page to see if your carrier and plan is listed. If you are still unsure, it is best to contact the urgent care center directly for clarification.

  • Do Maryland urgent care centers offer virtual visits or telemedicine?

Many urgent care centers, including those in Maryland, now offer virtual visits or telemedicine for residents and visitors throughout the state. Virtual urgent care visits are generally booked online whether in advance or on-demand. Clinics that do offer virtual care have a video icon on their profiles.

  • What is the best urgent care center in Maryland?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Maryland, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. For some consumers, that could mean the closest location whereas other people may prioritize patient reviews, service costs, availability, or whether or not the provider accepts their insurance. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
