What is the COVID pill treatment? (Paxlovid and molnupiravir)

The COVID pill therapy, according to the FDA, is an oral antibody medication designed to lower the likelihood of severe COVID symptoms. The pills, like any other prescription drug, can be taken at home. Paxlovid is a five-day treatment that consists of three pills administered twice a day. Four pills are given every 12 hours for five days as part of the Molnupiravir treatment.

How does the Paxlovid COVID pill treatment work?

According to FDA officials, the two drugs act in different ways. Paxlovid prevents the virus from producing an enzyme required for replication. Molnupiravir causes the virus to mutate and become ineffective as it replicates.

Although the staff were professional, it seemed like safety protocol may have been lacking. When checked, it was observed that gloves were not worn. Also, it seemed that gloves weren't changed between me and another patient. Staff came in with gloves on. The attending doctor checked me and readily prescribed medication without knowing any of my medical background. That could be detrimental to patients' health and safety. After I was checked, then my vitals were checked and I was asked about my medical history. I hope that it will be addressed better in the future.
