I was able to easily schedule my appointment online before leaving home. When I arrived the front desk let me know they were running 30 min behind the appointment schedule. I ended up waiting over an hour after my appointment time to be called from the waiting room. The triage nurse collected a covid/flu swab then put me in a room. The nurse practitioner walked in the room and told me my result and her plan. She didn’t seem to have any intent to touch me. I mentioned that my asthma also was also a concern. That finally prompted a physical exam. She offered me an asthma medication that is already on my home list, updated in triage. I don’t think this provider reviewed my medical history or medication list. I don’t think I would have gotten a physical exam if I hadn’t spoke up.

Arrived for a rapid Covid test that was for two scheduled appointments they were very busy which is understandable but we were more or less forgotten then the staff that came out to take the test was very rude and inconsiderate and unprofessional her name was America I was able to address this with the PA I have been a patient for years with quick urgent care today was the first time that I felt the disappointment that I felt we are in a pandemic and this staff did not seem compliant to change gloves without being requested to do so then got an attitude regarding it I was very polite and asked for my own health and the health of my family and friends as well as her health and the response I got was unacceptable when she told me that me and my co-worker were in the same vehicle for our Covid test which was her excuse for not changing her gloves before she was asked if she would be I told her that does not matter we are both patients I again was told sternly same vehicle when I asked for her name she gave it in a rude manner and then asked me my name which she already knew ha ha at least I was hoping so she just did my Covid test then went directly to do my coworkers Covid test I am still upset about this visit today publicly provided should I do I

Great experience! Online appointment scheduling was excellent; waiting room was full when I arrived but was able to get in within 15 minutes of my appointment time. Additionally, the doctor who saw me had great "bedside manner" and made me feel like I wasn't a thorn during her busy day. Definitely recommend! Side Note: I had an appointment with my PCM at a different location 2 weeks prior to being seen here. The appointment was during the holidays and it was cancelled on me the day of my appointment. The earliest they could get me in was 2 weeks later. I dealt with my condition (Not Emergency Room problem) as long as I could but realized I couldn't make it another 4 days (I was miserable!) I didn't want to go to an emergency room so searched for a walk-in clinic and decided to go to MedNOW Urgent Care. I'm glad I did and will go here again if I can't get in to see my PCM in a timely manner and it's not a condition warranting an Emergency Room visit.

This is the second comment I have made today. Everything was good until I checked on the RX. I called pharmacy at 1:30 pm, no RX. Went there at 3:30 no RX. Came home and called Urgent Care and it had been called in to Owasso CVS. Ok, I live in Claremore, I went to urgent care in Claremore and it was called into Owasso. Next time I know when asked what pharmacy I will say Claremore CVS. Problem solved! I work 5 am to 5 pm and I wanted to pick this up in case I needed to start it tomorrow. I think the person I talked to was Brooke or Bridgett. She told me she would have it sent to Claremore. This was at 4 pm. I go back to pharmacy at 6:30 pm it’s on hold at Owasso so the pharmacy had it transferred to Claremore, where I waited 30 minutes! How would you feel!

This doctor was amazing! I have been dealing with this for years and he was the first dr who actually showed he cared! He didnt just throw antibiotics at me and say bye. He showed so much compassion and cared how i felt. He genuinely wanted me to feel better. He educated me on how to try to get rid of this which is hard to do and he taught me how to live with this while waiting for it to go away. He didnt tell me how horrible i was for going to urgent care and not my pcp. He also didnt treat me like an idiot. He was so sweet and even offered to have me come in to drain what needed to drain but instead he called in different meds hoping they would work and told me when to come in person. I wish i could choose him every time!

My nurse with the blond hair (I’m so sorry, the president could have been there and there’s a chance I may have not put 2 and 2 together) she was wonderful! Her bedside manner was on point! The only person you’d possibly receive better care from is your own mother, and unless she’s in the healthcare field we’ll just have to call it close. Thank you to dr. Daniel for being extremely time efficient, you made me feel like a person whose time mattered, you answered all questions in a manner that did not leave me with more questions than I even began with. Will be recommending, and I can say that’s honestly the first time I’ve ever said those words when “urgent care” was the topic.

I found My Doctor Urgent Care 4-5 years ago and I have always received great, timely care when needed. Recently, I tried the virtual Visit from home instead of driving to the office and it was so easy and convenient! I highly recommend My Dr Urgent Care. I don’t use any other urgent care for myself. I also recommend downloading the SOLV app, booking an appointment when necessary, and then wait for a text message when your appointment comes up. You then click the link in the text from the physician to jump right into the call. Using virtual visits is a great way to prevent the spread of COVID and keep yourself and healthcare providers from spreading any colds/viruses/illness.

Came in for a “fish hook injury “ I was just needing a tetanus shot . I was impressed that I didn’t have to ask for antibiotics she also orders X-rays to make sure all of the hook was complete out ( no fragments after my husband cut out the hook) . The PA was very thorough. I am a nurse so I was ready to have to advocate for my care but I didn’t have to . I have no complaints and everyone was extremely kind and helpful. I drive past a few urgent care facilities from Tulsa to go to the Skiatook location for just that reason . You ladies rock !

Katt, PA-C and the rest of the staff from front desk to the nurses were great. I haven’t been to this facility in several years and I was thankful to be seen and heard today. Everyone was courteous and attentive. As a nurse practitioner in an ED, I was very impressed by their care and did not feel as if I was in an urgent care, per se, but in a family medicine clinic, where the time was taken to treat me as a patient and not a number. **you may utilize this review but please do not include my name for public display**

My family & I have been to this location 3 times now, each time for rapid Covid testing. I appreciate that we’ve been able to stay in our car & have the staff come to us. Each one has been receptive, attentive & thorough. At our most recent visit, it was suggested my son have flu & strep testing in addition to Covid, & it’s a good thing because his strep test was positive & the doctor came out to deliver the news. I would recommend My Doctor Urgent Care to others, & I have.

The wait time was not the fault of access but internet connection issues and my filing out the paperwork incorrectly. I've used access urgent many times of the years. I appreciate everything about that place. The staff go above and beyond. I've never had a very long wait. More than anything I feel doctors and nurses are more thorough than our regular GP. If access urgent care ever decided to add or become a regular family practice I would change my GP in a heartbeat. They are the best in town.

It was frustrating not being able to come in on a “walk-in” basis. What is the point of urgent care if you can’t be seen on the same day. We had to schedule an appointment for the following day but still ended up waiting for 45 minutes until we were seen because in an “emergency” who came in before us. This is a far cry from the service we have received in the past. The staff is still amazing. But we will look at other urgent care providers in the future

Frankly, I love this place. I love first med. I was treated here several years ago for pneumonia and was given superb service. I have taken several rapid Covid tests here and I appreciate the care they take to ensure that their patients are safe. This particular first med urgent care has an extremely friendly and warm staff. I did accidentally pushed know that I would not recommend first med but clearly I will recommend it to anyone and I have sent several people there for Covid test. Thank you

I’ve been miserably sick with a sinus infection for 5 days. Last night was unbearable. I had to hold ice packs to my face to relieve the pain. I arrived at Urgent Care at 8:30 this morning. I was given a steroid shot and an antibiotic prescription, and I already feel better. Everyone was very nice to me. I could smell disinfectant—- that was a good thing! I’m SO glad that my husband encouraged me to go this morning! Thank you, Urgent Care! I appreciate you so much!

I had been to a different text urgent care I. Town yesterday and the difference in care and attitude is incredible. We really appreciate the way the PA listened to what we said and that she was able to help us out and give us the next steps for treatment. She explained everything and we really liked her and will be back. They also asked for nothing out of pocket today, said they would submit to my insurance and send me a bill for any difference.

- Verified patient on 10/10

Doctor sucked! He seemed too busy to take any x-rays and said it would be better if I went to the ER to get better x-rays. They have better machines. I was going to go to the Owasso urgent care for X-rays , this is where I always go but they text back and said they’re machine was down would I like to go to another one. My mistake. I will never go to the Skiatook urgent care if I have to make another choice.

My experience with this urgent care is the best ever! The nurses were amazing & the doctor I gave to say was amazing! I have s been coming to this urgent care for a while now & brought my kids as well & this is the first time I felt heard by the doctor like she truly cared! Her bedside manners were great! This goes a long way when your not feeling well @ all! A gold star across the board! Thank you..

I made 3 appointments because there were not 4 time slots. The one person in my family that did not have an appointment got in first. The rest of us had to wait until our appointment time. They did not move us up. They let walk-ins go before us if it was not our appointment time. They were the only urgent care doing rapid tests so we had to use them. Their system of walk-ins before appointments needs to change.

- Verified patient on 12/27

we received excellent care at this urgent care and would highly recommend it to other families. We went in with my daughter for a Covid test and the doctor was so thorough to make sure we got excellent care to find out what actually was going on with her because she did not test positive for Covid. great quality care. I also had to call back to get a note for her school and they took care of everything

The wait time was ridiculous. Came in at 145pm. Went to a Room at 245 and was 320 when the Dr finally came in for 3 minutes then had to wait another 20 minutes before I went back for X-Ray. Currently waiting results TBD Emergency Hospitals are a drag when it comes wait times This is reason for coming to an urgent care (speedy wait times). For a person that has a busy schedule. Definitely not for impatient people.

- Verified patient on 9/16

The wait time was about 20 minutes past my appointment but in today’s problems one could understand that. I do feel the quality of care and compassion is exceptionable and you feel like the person you are talking to has the education and experience that is needed. All the staff seems to care and are quite capable of taking care of your problem. I believe Access urgent care is an excellent solution to many Of today’s health problems.

Urgent Care in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has a number of health problems. In 2011, they were ranked 46th in the country for health status. Smoking, obesity, and limited availability of medical professionals are all factors in this number, each of which drives up mortality rates and preventable emergency room visits.

There are many reasons that the healthcare status in Oklahoma in not as good as many other states. When you combine a number of bad habits perpetuated by many in the state, along with a high number of rural areas, it's not surprising to see a ranking like this. Oklahoma has the second highest death rate due to heat disease. Part of this is due to the large number of elderly living in the state. Over 14% of the state's population is over the age of 65. Luckily, though, when looking at the healthcare outlook of the state, preventable hospitalizations have lowered to 81 per 1000 discharges. This is down from 95.9 per 1000 in 2007.

With 158 hospitals in the state with emergency rooms treating cases largely resulting from the chronic conditions of residents. However, because of the extremely high number of those who visit the emergency room when a condition is not life threatening, frequently ERs get full quickly. Luckily, there are nearly 60 urgent care centers to carry some of this load and provide accessible, immediate care options for patients. While Oklahoma is ranked low for health status of the individuals in the state, there are many options when one needs to seek medical care. When properly using medical facilities, the state will continue to improve their health status.

  • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
