Urgent care
When checking in, I had to use the pad, which they already had all my information. Too much to go through when it should be the front desk person that should be going through that. Never have to be going through this.Waiting time was terrible. Waited in waiting for sometime. And then when finally in the room I waited for sometime. I was only there for a follow up for my blood pressure. The staff was caring.

I have been battling this issue for a few days now and this morning I said I had to go get checked. I scheduled my appointment online and was able to get an appointment within an hour and a half. Upon arrival after completing paperwork I was called back in less than 10 minutes. Dr. Clark and the entire staff were friendly and helpful. Dr. Clark even took the time to notice that my illness was causing my blood pressure to be elevated and one of the prescriptions would also cause it to rise so, she immediately canceled her prescription and showed me one that was can be purchased over the counter that would be safe while my blood pressure was elevated. She even made sure it had come down some before allowing me to leave. That’s great service.

Thank you to all the staff and medical personnel at Dr. Browning's office. Took us right back for weighing, BP, and pulse. Didn't wait long for Dr Browning to come in, sit down, listen to our hearts and breathing, then patiently went over our lab reports explaining all. All folks should be so fortunate to have that personal care from their doctor!

I have been extremely sick for four days now and I have been here several times and I always had a great experience but this time they did not offer to take my temperature or check my oxygen all they did was take my blood pressure The doctor did listen to my breathing and then they give me a shot and the doctor told me he was going to give me some medicine they did not do an x-ray on my chest which is extremely congested and feels like I have a horse on top of me it was late when I got there and I understand they were tired and ready to go home but still yet when a sick person comes in you would think they would take care of them as they would if it was in the morning. I was very disappointed and I am still very sick and will probably end up having to go to the hospital maybe that’s where I should’ve went to begin with but I will not use Sevierville Hospital so I have to go to Knoxville and I have no energy and really don’t know that I want to make that drive by myself. I know you can call an ambulance but I don’t feel like this is an emergency but if my breathing does not get better maybe it will be. I just feel like they could have done more as far as check me out instead of just giving me a shot and a Z pack and prednisone and sent me home. I really just feel like they should’ve checked my oxygen they should’ve checked my temperature and they should’ve at least done a chest x-ray I was just very disappointed this time. I recommend them because it is always been a good place but I’m trying to just make it out as the fact that they close at eight and I got there at seven so they were ready to go home. I tested negative for Covid but not that I want that Q-tip shoved up in my nose but I really don’t think they are testing right because it just barely went up in my nose. I feel like they should do a different type of Covid test if they don’t know how to put the Q-tip in the nasal and actually get a good swab. Just makes me wonder do I have Covid and have I exposed others so I am being very safe at home and staying away from everyone because I am so sick I have no energy and I really can’t drive right now. And I don’t really have anyone to help me because everyone has a life and it’s kind of hard to ask them to stop what they’re doing to take me to the doctor that may take hours you never know. I just thought that urgent care was my best bet because it has always been in the past this time I really just feel like they were done with the day and wanted out of there. If I’m not better in a few days I’m going to have to go to the hospital and I don’t want to. Then I will be exposed to all those germs that has been brought in there. I have a very low immune system and catch everything and anything so I’m scared to go to the hospital but at the same time if I get worse or do not get better I’m going to have to when I really feel like the urgent care could’ve helped me better than they did.

I have so much to say about my experience this evening. This was our first visit here. Being a parent with a sick child is so stressful in itself. Dealing with all the technicalities of getting them scheduled, seen, treated and insure that they are receiving quality care always make this situation even more exhausting. The staff at Urgent Care for Children, Chattanooga completely irradiated all my added stress and anxieties tonight. From the online scheduling, to Robin welcoming us so warmly the moment we crossed the threshold. It was a late Friday evening which normally adds to the stress of assuring your child’s needs are met before options for care are limited and pharmacies are closing. We walked into the lobby and it felt like a warm hug. The facilities were immaculate. The medical staff quickly brought us back and listened intently to all of my concerns and made my daughter at ease immediately. After a throat swab not only my daughter but my very tired son who had to join is, got popsicles while we waited. Dr Pierce was so kind and very attentive. She payed such close attention to detail and was wonderful with my daughter. She was very knowledgeable about the issues we were having and validated all of my concerns. I then did the unthinkable!!! I waited five minutes and was able to have her prescription filled there. No driving to a second location, dragging a very tired 7 year old boy, and very uncomfortable 5 year old back out into the car to travel however far on a Friday night, only to drag them into another facility to WAIT for a prescription to be ready. I walked out into the parking lot and administered her first dose of antibiotics. She literally was checked in, evaluated, had labs, checked out and began treatment is 35 minutes. I can not say enough about my experience tonight.

This was by far the best experience I've ever had at a medical provider's office, but even more so at a pediatrician's office. The wait time was minimal, the check-in process being digital on your phone was super convenient. I would absolutely recommend anyone with children use this urgent Care. The provider and staff was phenomenal with my daughter. Their main priority was to make sure that she was comfortable. Once her favorite broke and she was ready to play the nursing staff actually played with her, which absolutely stood out to me. She needed some testing that required a urine sample and once again their top priority was to make sure that she was comfortable. I'd also like to make a special note that in a world with covid, if someone has a fever or is showing any signs of covid people seem to shy away or change their demeanor, ever not one single staff member did in our case. Though she was negative for covid, it was nice to see that they still treated everyone equally. Thank you for that.

This is our go to Urgent Care for several years now and have always had great experience, however this visit left me completely puzzled... my daughter had injured her hand, from pinky to wrist, no fracture was found however it was recommended to wrap it for stability for now. The physician wrapped her arm from wrist to elbow with an ace bandage instead of protecting her pinky and hand. I spoke up because I have been trained to wrap and cast. We moved to a different room where she proceeded to make a wrist splint and wrapped my daughters hand and arm leaving my daughter unable to move her fingers or her thumb... how can a physician not know how to properly splint and wrap an injury... (I rewrapped after we left supporting her pinky and wrist) This is not the first time we have gone there with injuries like this, however this is the first time I have experienced a physician unable to do this, and I worked in urgent care for 5+ years

Two days into my vacation, I wake up & every breath I take gives me a sharp pain in my left lung. I am a bit scared, have no idea where to go , a local barista suggested AFC Urgent care in Sevierville. I could not thank her enough! Then I experienced great care & a prompt diagnosis . The health news I received wasn't good, but with meds I would recover & be able to make the 2 day drive back home & follow up with my primary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I felt welcomed immediately, some tests were done to find out what was going on with me, & the doctor was direct in telling me my diagnosis. Assured me they would be there again if I didn't feel better before I went home. My nerves calmed down & I was able to concentrate on getting better. Great staff in my eyes, would highly recommend to anyone in need of a clinic. Keep it up guys!

When I called to ask about protocol of coming in because of covid-19, the receptionist was not friendly at all. We had to stop at the tent that was set up out front due to covid-19. Jessica was in the tent. She was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the front desk were not friendly at all. They did not seem to want to be there. The doctor was friendly and answered any questions we had. As we were leaving, we thought of another question and asked the lady that came into our patient room. She quickly answered as she left the room and I had to follow her to finishing asking my questions. She didn’t seem to want to be bothered. You would think they were really busy by how we were treated but the fact is that we were the ONLY ones there. I would go back but only because it is the only urgent care near us. If you have one closer, I would go there.

This was our first experience and it was great. We will most definitely return. All the staff and the Dr. were very friendly and made my daughter feel very comfortable. We were checked in and to a room within 5 min. We were a walk in so this is Something u are very thankful for when ur little one does not feel well. My daughter ask if we could come back anytime she needs to go to the dr as soon as we got in the car, she loved that she got a popcycle, stickers and a sucker! I Would most definitely recommend anyone who needs care for there little one to go here, very impressed with the concern from all the cleanliness of the facility and the timelines of the visit. And a plus, I saw where they will fill ur meds there so u do not have to make a trip to the pharmacy afterwards another plus!! Feel Very blessed to have this urgent care in Hixson.

Very satisfied on this our 2nd visit to your Urgent Care & just as pleased, satisfied & thankful for the care/attention we received this time as the first!!! Even though we got there toward the end of their day & they were still very busy, we didn't feel like we were getting just "rushed through " to get out!!! The sweet girl up front & the tech came out to the car & helped me get my husband out as he had gout in both feet & couldn't walk & they also helped him back in the car!! I really appreciated that!!! The NP seemed likewise very caring & knowledgeable while still listening to our concerns/my husband's history/etc.!! If we need any of the services they offer again, even though I hope it's a while off, you know, we will DEFINITELY return there!! Please thank them again for us!! Thank you all for the care & opportunity to express our view on our experience !!

I was a sick walk in today, arrived and checked in at 915am and was there close to 4 hours! As I requested a covid test, I was asked to wait in my car and waited there for 2 hours. The provider, Dr. Campbell, spent all of 5 mins with me, ordered a CXR, had that done and waited some more. By the time I chose to leave, I had been there 3 hrs and 45 mins! I've been to the clinic before and never had to wait like this. When you're sick, waiting almost 4 hours feels like an eternity. I feel bad for the provider and staff to be that booked up and overloaded. They need additional hands, MA's and providers! Such a shame, but don't think I'll ever walk in again. Apparently, I should have made an appointment even though it's an urgent care walk in clinic.

I have been going to this place for years and have NEVER had a bad experience!! I even drove across town to come here specifically today. Dr. Chris Keese is one of the finest doctors I have met. He has always been extremely kind and does great at meeting what I need. The front desk always meets you with a smile, and The nursing staff is so very sweet. I have had some rough days When I’ve been there and some of the nurses made me leave with a smile and they didn’t even know it. I highly recommend going to this urgent care if you plan on having a great experience. They are always fast and efficient. I was in and out within 20 minutes today. You definitely won’t wanna go anywhere else after. 👍

This Urgent Care was absolutely the cleanest, friendliness and easiest to get in and out for me. I would rather go to an Urgent Care any day than an ER unless you know you need that type of medical intervention( you know you will be admitted). This is where you know you can go to when you need to be seen that day and can be treated with an antibiotic or other treatment. It’s a large and very clean facility and the entire staff was very friendly and thoughtful. I saw Dr. Ballard and she was very nice and helpful. This is where I will go to whenever I need to be seen! I am 100% satisfied with my experience and I highly recommend them if you need to go to an urgent care facility.

I started getting sick yesterday evening & I needed a place that opened early on a Sunday to be seen due to having a small child & my job. Maggie was wonderful! She was attentive to all my complaints & she did thorough testing on me. The front desk girl was nice as well. She told me if I needed anything as I was leaving to please call them & let them know. I had only seen this clinic driving by but never been here before. When searching for urgent cares open at 8 they popped up. I was able to easily make an appointment online & do all my paperwork as well. Such an easy, smooth & wonderful visit. Will definitely be back & have already recommended to other people. Thank you!

I had just enough symptoms to make me want to get a Rapid Covid 19 test. The receptionist was friendly and kind. Per protocol, I waited in the car until it was time to be seen. My nurse Madison was cheerful and caring. She was very gentle during the Covid procedure. I then saw Ashley Still, NP. We talked about my symptoms and she looked in my ears and throat and then listened to my chest. When the Covid results returned, she explained the CDC recommended instructions and made sure I understood why I should still self-quarantine for 10 days from the onset of symptoms. Everyone at AFC Urgent Care Ooltewah is so kind yet professional. That is why I continue to return there if I need their help.

I am a resident of Canada and was on my way home from a Florida vacation when I suddenly needed medical attention. AFC Urgent Care was recommended by the nearby hotel I had spent the night at. Reception staff were very patient as I spent 45 minutes on their phone trying to have the visit approved by a very uncooperative and rude Canadian Medical Insurance Representative. Thank you for your patience which meant everything to me. The Doctor who attended to my needs was very thorough and explained the prescribed medications and why they were chosen for me. It has been 48 hours since my visit and I am well under way to recovery. Thank you all. And as they say in the South..."Y'all have a Blessed Day."

- Verified patient on 3/9

I truly appreciate this urgent care in Ooltewah. It is a convenient access to immediate healthcare. The wait was longer than expected but they provide a great phone app with real-time tracking for your wait time. EJ, one of the nurse practitioners was excellent. She took the time to listen, answer questions and explain without making me feel like I was just another patient, which is important to me. The nurses and techs were friendly. The faculty was clean. My only complaint is that the iPad that is used for signing in, with a finger, should always be wiped clean after each patient—they didn’t do that after each person while I was there). I recommend this urgent care if you do not need to go to the ER.

Wow - truly blown away by the kindness and politeness of the receptionists/office staff and doctors here. It is Christmas Eve and there is so much sickness going around, we are still in the midst of the Covid pandemic, etc… even with all of that said and these healthcare professionals surely missing their loved ones at home, they had positive attitudes, smiles, and great care-taking. The doctor we saw listened to our concerns and we are so appreciative of her time! Her plan of care was exceptional and gave us the reassurance we needed. I will highly recommend this clinic/urgent care. Even on our way out, the ladies up front were so kind to wish us a Merry Christmas. 🎄 6 out of 5 stars!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟

My daughter was very sick with croup and was very irritable. I made an appointment to be seen and as soon as I was checked in, we were called to the back. The doctor came in within 10 minutes and knew exactly what is was and what we needed to do to help my daughter breathe better. The nurse was very patient with my daughter, even with her screaming and pushing away from her. We were there for a few hours due to a breathing treatment, but everyone kept checking in on us and my daughter was able to get some sleep as well. I would definitely recommend this facility if you need urgent care or after hours on a weekend!

This is the fastest urgent care I have ever been to with my child! The front desk staff was professional and very insightful and informative when I had any questions in regards to my insurance and the services that the facility offered and how much it was gonna cost me in the long run. The doctor was great he listen to everything that was going on examined my child and he gave me my options to treat him. My wait time was about 20 or 30 minutes opposed to the 3 to 4 hours I would have spent at the children’s emergency hospital. I booked with Solv and pre-filled out everything and it made the check in process so much easier!

- Verified patient on 8/29

I had a painful left eye with drainage . She looked at the eye said it was either bacterial or viral as I did not have trauma to the eye. She did not use eye dye or put me on the table . She prescribed an antibiotic ( ciprofloxacin) eye drops. The eye continued to have pain, drainage sensitivity to light. I contacted my eye doctor who saw me 5 days after Urgent Care. I was diagnosed with HSV 1 of the eye. He immediately prescribed antiviral meds (by mouth and eyedrops)... I wish Urgent Care could've diagnosed correctly as to diminish suffering and follow up with eye doctor. I should've just made appt with eye Dr. initially. Thank you.

This is a place I’ll definitely be bringing my whole family to. This place was CLEAN, the staff was very PROFESSIONAL , and so nice. They were so considerate of my little momma being so sick 😷. I’m so very thankful 🥲 bc in a week and a half I took my mom to three different ones and left bc of the mannerisms of the faculty I understand that our medical staff in our country is overworked and under paid but there’s no reason to take it out on sick people coming into your building! The staff at the Broadway Urgent Care are not like that. Please keep this going. Love the Solv !

Urgent Care in Tennessee

Tennessee is a state that offers a number of healthcare options. The state has many rural communities, and this helps shape the healthcare of the state. With a population of 6.456 million, there are many who are in need of urgent or emergency care regularly.

The state of Tennessee has 171 hospitals. The majority of these hospitals include both urgent care and emergency room options. The hospitals include about 19,000 staffed beds, however there are about 25,000 licensed beds. Luckily, this means that there are sufficient options for those who are in need of emergency medical care in the state. In 2008 there were about 8,500 patients who visited urgent care centers.

About 14.2% of Tennessee's population is over 65 years old. This is above the national average of 13.7%. In addition to this, there is a high prevalence in the state of those with sedentary lifestyles. This means that there are many with chronic or problematic conditions in the state.

Tennessee has a large number of people who visit the emergency rooms unnecessarily. In fact, about 83.4 per 1000 people who are discharged from the emergency room could have visited an urgent care facility instead. Some conditions that can be treated at urgent care facilities include bronchitis, flu, and burns. With so many visiting the emergency rooms when it isn't needed, it's easy to see that the emergency rooms could easily be less clogged with proper use.

Tennessee offers a large number of medical facilities for the number of people living in the state. However, these facilities are frequently misused.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Tennessee cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Tennessee or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Tennessee urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Tennessee are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Tennessee take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Tennessee urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • What is the best urgent care center in Tennessee?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Tennessee, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
