Everyone was attentive, professional and helpful.  Appreciate not having to wait long to get care.  Would choose Gateway Urgent Care again if needed.

Short Wait Time

This is my favorite urgent care.  They are so efficient and very caring about your concerns.  I appreciate them all very much.  I had a very bad experience at a Banner urgent care a couple of months ago when I was badly hurt from a fall.  They were very rude to me, both nurse and doctor.  I will always go to Gateway.  Thank you.

I was so pleasantly surprised at how impressed I was with this facility, after finding them on a quick Google search! I utilized their urgent care service and ended up finding a new primary care doctor. Almost zero wait time, easy check-in process, online appointment booking and new patient forms, amazingly friendly, helpful and patient front office staff, beautiful office and Dr. Spann was informative, kind, helpful, knowledgeable and relatable. 10/10!

I went in on Wednesday for a sore throat and fever. My co-pay was a lot less than I thought, they were super busy, but got me in like 5 minutes. They did a strep test, it was positive, they sent antibiotics to the pharmacy which I picked up on my way home and I'm already feeling much better. I have a new fav

Here for sports physical and took a minute to get seen.

- Verified patient on 7/20

The staff was super friendly, the doctor was energetic and happy even after such a long day and so many patients. It just was a long wait even with a scheduled appointment. Although we showed up an hour and a half early thinking it would help keep our place in line to no avail. We checked in online and it was very convenient. The sports physical was a flat fee and economical. I would recommend this location and will be back if needed.

I am so very BLESSED! Dr. Ann helped me sooo much!! I am in Urgent Care, (it seems like) at least 2-3 times a month. I am mentally and physically disabled, a Single Parent and I have 3 children. I was in there for 1 1/2 hours, due to everything being my fault. Dr. Ann was the only Doctor that was able to find the true cause of my sickness. I have been sick for 2 months, even went to TMC a few weeks ago. All along, the fevers, pain in my head, not sleeping, and sore throat, wasn’t “Viral”. It was from an Ear Infection that had 2 months of dried up blood, (that turned black and hard) in my Ear Canal. She took up so much of her time on me, that I PRAY TO GOD, that HE Blesses her! All this time. Since July 17th, my birthday. I had gotten a “Daith piercing” to stop migraines from the TBI. Well, I blood a lot from the piercing, and when she said “she couldn’t see inside my ear because of the Wax buildup”, I told her the truth. I went into Urgent Care thinking I had the Covid, or Mono (Dr. Ann just diagnosed my 17 year old with it 6 days ago) and it was neither one. My Ear was infected. It took her 1 1/2 hours to get 6 pieces of, (what looked like) black coal out of my Ear Canal. It was actually 2 months of dried up blood. I’m cannot THANK Dr. Ann or the entire Staff, enough! My eldest sister, is Dr. Annie Pearson. I do hope one day they can meet because my own sister was shocked that TMC didn’t catch it! GOOD JOB Urgent Care for hiring Dr. Ann at Old Spanish Trail in Tucson, Arizona!!!!! Thank you, Maureen Pearson

I have suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 25 years. I have many doctors and nurses due to an autoimmune disease. I have mostly had great experiences because I see the same doctors and go to the same hospital. I live in Phoenix and was in Prescott on a Sunday(Mother's Day). My RA flare pain was easily off the chart & I had no idea where to go. I found Nextcare online, only a mile from where I was staying. From the minute I walked in the door to the minute I walked out, it was an overall great experience. Although there was not much Dr. Dan could do until I see my Rheumatologist in Phoenix, he was able to give me a shot for some relief until I see my regular doctor. Thank you to the doctor and the entire staff for going above and beyond to help physically as well as mentally. Chronic pain and illness is unrelenting. Kind, hardworking staff makes all the difference. :)

Went there to get a physical are appointment was set for 4 pm on a Wednesday. Made the appointment on Monday. We checked in at 3:15 we sat there til after 7pm. I made appointment for what cause we were treated like a walk-in anyway. Didn’t like it any we didn’t have any where else to go. I booked it on line cause I thought we would have had that spot reserved for us at that time . Guess not

I brought my daughter in for a sports physical and she was treated by a physician we have seen in the past. He is great everytime we have been in for something (ear infection, sport injury, etc...). He takes the time to explain and listen. He is very nice and puts my family at ease every visit.

The staff was wonderful and friendly. I was trying to schedule a Covid test, and I was having no luck anywhere and was unable to speak to a live person. A very nice gentleman answered the phone right away and told me he would schedule my appointment and I was able to get one for 1 1/2 hours later. There was also a physician there who gave me a physical. What a great experience. So glad I called them!

Took my son for a scout physical on a sat and he loved the dr so much he will not go back to his regular dr. He was amazing!

Waited one hour even though we had an appointment. Got into the room and had the vitals etc. done, then waited another 20 minutes or the provider. Not his fault, way too many patients and no other providers on staff. Need better staffing. Also, probably need better training on doing the eye test. We were there for a sports physical and the eye test they did showed severe vision problems, which we thought was odd. Went to our optometrist the next day for an exam and vision test was perfectly normal. Need some better system for people to wait if they have Covid symptoms. We were not there for Covid, but many others were. They were, appropriately, asked to wait outside or in their vehicles. Problem was they were waiting out there for 2+ hours. It was a really hot day. So they were in their cars roasting or with air-conditioning on and running their vehicles. Contributing to pollution and global warming. There has to be a better system than that.

I have 3 stars on wait time because the app that needs to be initiated on phone wasn’t working properly. I’m not in the habit of scanning things on my phone, because it causes unnecessary and unwanted texts and emails to me ( like this survey does instance) anyhow, after waiting for the paperwork to come thru my phone, turns out it never did. Therefore, adding another 20 minutes to my wait time. If I had received actual PAPER work to fill out, which I originally requested, it would have been much quicker and done in a timely matter. The receptionist (absolutely lovely girl) told me the only way to check in was they my phone. Well, guess what, I didn’t and filled out paperwork anyway. 😀 overall, sports physical experience was amazing. !!!

I visit this ungent care for the first time today 7/7/20.The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my needs from start to finish. The physical who saw me was AWESOME. She took the time to explain what was going on with me and check on me while I wait for the treatment to take effect. If I could give her a *** stars I would!! This is an excellent urgent care and I highly recommend it🙂

Our sports physical was quick and painless. At first we were sad JD was not working, but Candice was awesome!! We will recommend this facility to everyone. Front staff was great too. In and out with a smile!!!

So much nicer not having to physically go to the clinic

- Verified patient on 9/6

It was really quite backed up with Covid checks; and a few physical injuries that made me feel Sqeemish just Hearing about them! In light of all that- waiting seems inevitable these days and the cheerful professionalism of everyone: Carolina check in to Amy the doc & her male nurse practitioner (Richard?) made it all very ouch less in the end! {{ I allow Solv to use only my first name & last initial but not my full name nor my email adrs for publication.}}

Once I got there it was great, but I had called in the morning to find a location with an MD or DO working because my son's collegiate sport physical required it. I was told *** McDowell, and the lady made my appointment, and drove a half hour to that location to find that they did not have a MD or DO. The staff was nice and found another location which I drove to and got everything done. But it was a long and frustrating afternoon.

Mesa Physical Exams

A annual physical exam (or annual well visit) is a routine check-up where a doctor or healthcare provider checks you for routine health issues and asks you basic questions about your health. During a physical exam, the doctor will most likely go over your medical history and ask you questions about the current state of your health. They'll also check vital signs like your heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature, as well as take a look at whether your skin appears healthy. You'll also get a head and neck exam, a lung exam (using a stethoscope), an abdominal exam, a neurological exam, and more. Women may get a breast and pelvic exam and men may get prostate, penis, testicular, and hernia exams.

Annual exams are important because they can help you find out about health issues early on so treatment can begin as soon as any problems are discovered. If you're overweight or you're at risk for diabetes, you'll most likely get a blood sugar test too. Everyone over the age of three should have a physical exam every year. At age 50, your doctor might start screening for colorectal cancer. At 40, women should begin getting regular mammogram screenings for breast cancer. Women ages 45 to 54 should get them yearly and women 55 and older should get them (at minimum) every two years.

Although a complete physical exam cannot be completed over telehealth, your doctor may offer an annual wellness visit (AWV). AWVs do not require BMI and blood pressure measurements. These can either be self-reported or delayed.

  • Is a physical exam covered by my insurance?

Many health insurers offer one annual physical for free. If the visit isn’t completely covered, patients will have to pay a $10 to $50 copay. It is uncommon for medical insurances to not offer annual physical coverage.

  • Are video visits with general practitioners covered by my insurance?

AWVs are generally covered once per calendar year. Your insurance coverage for in-person physicals will be similar to the coverage provided for AWVs. Book a telemedicine visit to see estimated costs in the Mesa area.
