Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

We did a virtual visit for a covid test following a positive at home test. We were required to log in 15 minutes prior to the appointment. The provider came on the line almost immediately. Was able to prescribe medications right then and send them to the pharmacy. We were asked if we needed employer verification, which we did. We were told to drive to the office and wait in the parking lot until someone came out to perform the test. We arrived, and the test was completed minutes later. Everything was fast and convenient. The staff member who performed the test answered all our questions.. We have recently required urgent care at another well known facility in Bakersfield and had to wait hours. We will definitely be back to Priority for any future needs.

When I phoned Inland Urgent Care to make an appointment for a Covid test I received easily understandable information by a very polite and friendly young woman by the name of Darrian. She patiently answered my questions. When I arrived the next day I remained in the car as instructed. Links were sent to me and I was able to pay for the test online. A few minutes later I was instructed to come into the office. I was met by Darrian just inside the doorway of the office where she administered the Covid test. She was really nice. I found the test didn’t hurt as others have said. I received my tests results report by email by the time I got home and was happy to see I tested negative. I would definitely recommend Inland Urgent Care.

Love this place. Super clean. Did the over phone call waiting room time was short. Nurse tried really hard to connect when issues with video call instead of going to next patient and making me wait in the cue. I appreciated Amy. Actually she is a physicians something not a nurse my bad. When I drove up for Covid testing the 2 nursed were so friendly, didn’t look at you like u possibly had the bug and even came out to my car to bring my negative results. I love this place so much. I was treated so good. They are warm and inviting and I felt safe.

Finding out the night before my daughter was to be admitted to the hospital for surgery I would not be allowed to be with her without a Covid Vacc Card or a negative Covid test I was in a panic. There were no available spots to test where I live, but fortunately my daughter remembered your facility and boom 💥 I was able to get in!! I was early and didn’t even have to wait! I think I was there maybe 15-20 min and that includes check-in, test and results. I appreciate the efficiency of the practice, which is hard to come by these days and will recommend you to others!! Thank you 😊

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. I needed a rapid Covid test for my daughter and they were the only place that could get me in same day. Wait time was less than 5 minutes. Staff was super friendly. Unfortunately my daughter tested positive and the doctor who called to tell me was so nice and informative and understanding and patient. He stayed on the phone with me for a good 20-30 minutes and answered all my questions. I don’t have one negative thing to say about the care I received here. Thank you for everything, I appreciate it so much!

I needed to get Covid tested because I came in contact with someone that tested positive. I feel that this medical place isn’t organized. My appointment was at 1pm, I arrived at 12:30 and it took a long time with the process. They explained what needed to get done but didn’t start the process right away. They gave me the forms 40 minutes after my arrival. They took my medical cards one hour after my arrival, they took my payment, one hour and 10 minutes after my arrival. Teleported with a doctor one hour and 20 minutes after my arrival, and finally got the test done, one hour and 30 minutes after my arrival. I feel it was a lot of waiting around. The girls were friendly but all the walking in and out and having me wait in my car was torturous to see. I don’t understand why forms couldn’t be ready and administered, collect all the necessary documentation and payment all at once and be ready with the next and next step. Please take these steps into consideration to help the public and their location run smoothly. Thank you.

The only issue I had was that I wasn't able to make a future appointment for future Covid test online. My options were to make an urgent care appt OR telemed appt. On Friday afternoon I ended up making telemed appt for Sunday and just arrived at Reliant at my appt time. When I was greeted by the care worker, I explained the situation and she called Reliant and let them know I was waiting outside. I was met by personnel in a timely manner and everything was quick, efficient, and friendly. Kudos for service. Extra kudos to staff. Though confusing online, everything was handled well. Better than expected! Thank you!

I try to get a COVID test today, I have downloaded the app and ask me to check in once I arrived. My appointment is 12:20pm and I checked in at 12:00pm, and app told me no one in front of me, but no one calls me in as well, I thought they will text me when is my turn. So I wait in my car. Until the time, still no text messages or nothing, so I walked in. And the rep seems like don’t even know I have an appointment today, and keep asking me all different questions, like are you Anna, I am like no, I am xx. And she is asking r you get vaccines today, I said no, I am here for testing. And she keep asking all other questions on the form which I already filled out on the web. I just wondering the app not really communicating to the clinic, so the rep keep asking me all the same questions again. The second thing is once I sit in the little office, the nurse instead measuring my height and weight, she asking me what is my height and weight to fill out the form. So I provided the answer. She tried to measure my blood pressure, and the number not coming out, and at the end she gave up, and didn’t have my blood pressure. The last thing is when I sit in the little office to wait for my result since I order the rapid test. I saw the sink is dirty with all the water spot on the surface. The one time use ear measurements not full and no one filling up. And the doctor walked in at the end to do a summarize, and her white coat is actually very dirty with black and yellow color around the pockets areas. She probably wear it for a while. But the test results turn out with in 15min, and I am negative. This is what I want to know.

Everyone was great and friendly. The wait was way to long for a covid test. They should go back to appts. I was there since 8:35am on Saturday morning. I waited 35min to get through on the phone to get registered. They informed me the wait was going to be about 2 hrs. Which I had no choice and wait. finally ready for my boys to be seen at 11:35am. I found out that the wait was extra long because some patients have to see a provider. We did get results in less than 30min. Just a very long wait. If they would go back to just doing covid tests I would return.

My first experience was terrible. I followed instructions and waited in my car. Checked in with staff upon my arrival at 3:15pm. I was forgotten waited over an hour. Then I got a call asking if I got my covid test and they expressed that the person who does testing bad just left and if not could I return between 5:30-8:40pm. I really needed my PCR test for a show. So I decided to go eat and return after 5:30pm but called first to make sure someone would take me. A young lady by the name April answered the phone I explained my experience and I was returning for my test but had to double check. She sprung into action and my experience was amazing she walked me through every step and hadbme drive to her location and text them soon as I arrived she did mine and my daughters PCR covid test and had a little to no wait time. She truly is an example of patient care. She made me forget I was mad and had lost so much time during the day that I even missed a important meeting. But April took care of us and we got our tests some so all was forgiven. Grateful, Selene Falcon

The professionalism and quality of the care met to my standard. Although, we only went for a rapid covid test, the doctor still asked about my daughters health and was concerned when I told him that she’s had a lingery cough for more than a month. We have been to Enloe Prompt care and they never seem to concerned like they were here. I really appreciated this. He gave me advice and prescribed cough medicine to help her at night. This is something I have been wanting for a long time and he heard my concerns. I look forward to bringing my medical concerns/business here for any future. We are a family of 4 and have two private insurances. I like how everyone was friendly to me and my children. The wait is awful, but this is what we experience anywhere with medical, so it seems to be the new “normal”.

In order to travel to Canada, I needed to get a (molecular) Covid test. It's a bit tricky because you need to get a negative test result within 72 hours of departure, but you also need the results quickly so that you can log into Canada's system. I searched several test providers but most didn't have availability this past Saturday afternoon. I was able to make an appointment at MD Today Urgent Care for 6:00 PM and it could not have gone smoother or any easier. I appreciated being called prior to the appointment time to clarify which test was most appropriate. They let you self-swab which is always more comfortable. Within 20 minutes of being tested, I was called again with the result - followed by an email. I strongly recommend MD Today Urgent Care. They are located a bit East of I-5 and North of Hwy 56 - just North of San Diego.

I was not feeling well. I had a bad cough and Congestion. Went to Temecula 24 Hour Urgent Care. I was seen right away. Completed all the paper on my phone and was taken back to have my vitals. Once that was done I was escorted to the examination room which was cleaned and sanitized. The medical assistant ask lots of question regarding my system and all of the medications I was taking. The x ray technician escorted me to the x ray room took xrays of my lungs. In the examination room the doctor listen to my lungs asked me about my system. She had me take a breathing treatment and a covid test and also test for flu. Covid Test and Flu test came back negative and it looks like I have a virus. The doctor bedside manner was outstanding and the staff were welcoming and very attentive. I highly recommend this urgent care

My daughter had croup but wasn’t improving so I made an appt at 11:30. I arrived at 11:15 and eventually was told I needed to have her COVID tested. I was back to the waiting room by 12. I thought I’d be in a room quickly since my appt was 30 min prior but it was obvious I wasn’t going to be seen soon. I told them I would take an appt at 2. I arrived by 1:45 and was in a room by 2:05. I didn’t the see the dr until 2:45. I was frustrated because I had appts and the provider explained they run an urgent care. She was condescending. I’ve been coming there since it opened. I have 4 kids one seen on Wednesday. I understand what an urgent care is but I also understand appts and customer service. I eft the first time because it was taking far longer with an appt and I needed to have my son at an event but the right thing would’ve been to fast track me the second time and for the provider to not treat me the way she did. So disappointed. I love the staff but they should’ve tried to get me in faster and when they didn’t just say sorry not have some provider explain to me how an urgent care works. Does she know what an appt is?

Visited to get a Rapid Covid Test. Waited maybe 10 minutes once I checked in. Staff was super nice and very professional. Hope I don't need to get tested again (I'm already vaccinated) but if I do feel the need to get tested, I will definitely go there. My sister td me about this place and she drove from Stockton to get tested here since we both were feeling sick this week and just wanted to rule out covid for our own peace of mind. Paid 101.00 for the test but Kaiser should reimburse the clinic who will send the check to us. It's better than waiting longer for the test results.

My ONLY complaint- which CAN be managed is that there should be, at the facility and at the end of filling out the online appointment (especially where it involves Covid testing) - that you can be waiting up to an hour (as I did) for a Covid PCR test - and you would see a nurse first, then a dr, then finally a nurse so as to understand the wait (we as patients/clients could then better manage our own appointments without feeling anxious or upset at staff) - and if it’s a Rapid Covid test - the time is quicker (maybe 30 minutes) . So since I brought my teen with me and naively thought I would be in and out in 15 min tops, he killed the car battery while listening to the radio- and I had to wait another 30 min for AAA service - etc. (I know- not the fault of the clinic- actually the staff was nice enough to let my kid use the bathroom while waiting for me.

Other than the miscommunication between the front desk and physician re: covid testing, and where/when results are posted it was very clean and efficient. I was told by front desk that rapid testing opens at 9am but after MA took my saliva test and then, when I was seen by the physician, I was then told she COULD do the Swab test (after the saliva test had been done) which was all good (except the extra fee for the THAT test) I did the test, got results and went on my way after my hour and 45 min visit. That’s not bad considering within hours there will be a full waiting room. I was told by physician to check a website for saliva test results, but then at check out the front desk said they’d call me. I asked for portal info which she gave me while assuring me I’d be phoned by physician. The physician on the other hand strongly assured me my results would be posted. I don’t mind either way, as long as I can GET the results. Both physician and front desk MA were very friendly even at 4:45 AM when I checked in, until 6:30 am when I was finished. I walked out with Swab test results, and a prescription so I’m very satisfied. I know they’re only 2 people and are in a very trying field, I salute them.

Wasco COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Wasco?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Wasco?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Wasco-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Wasco?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Wasco including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Wasco?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Wasco-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Wasco?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Wasco are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Wasco?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Wasco?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
