This clinic has shorter than average waiting periods

Short Wait Time

Scheduling online and check-in was so easy. Staff very welcoming in front. Kelly did a great job. Needles always makes me nervous but Kelly was understanding and helped kept me calm. Terrie, NP, was great because she really did listen to my concerns. I hope I never have to visit again but if I did, I would definitely come back to this location. I would definitely recommend!!

Last week I lacerated my right thumb to the point where it could not even be stitched there was nothing left to connect it so they use surgical foam referred me to a Orthopedic specialist. It's been almost a week and I still cannot get a specialist yet this Clinic had me come back to follow up and not only checked my wound but even rebandaged it again. Not only was their bedside manner the best I have ever in all my years experience with walk-in clinics when I called back yesterday they remembered who I was just by my injury. They even said to me if I still have a problem finding an orthopedic specialist to come back in 5 days again. Dr. Williams was an angel absolutely fantastic let me talk never rushed me once didn't try to get rid of me fast like many clinics do and they worked with me. I wish my own primary group was as good as them. I wish they could be my primary. The nurse again I can't remember her name but it sounded like Sarita it's probably wrong but if you're reading this you know Who You Are and even the wonderful lady who checked me in an answered my calls when I tried to schedule the appointment online and I was having a problem I had to call twice never once did she get upset or annoyed she was so pleasant and helpful and sweet I wish I remembered her name. I will always go to them first before my primary and if they think it's a primary doctor I need to go to or somewhere else I will do whatever they say and I don't say those things lightly because I've had my own primary group tell me I was fine when I actually had pneumonia and almost died because they didn't want to give me the time or day to let me talk and let them know I know my body. These wonderful people are working in the front lines helping us and I don't think they get recognized enough especially through this scary time. So again all of you great wonderful Souls at Urgent Care I sincerely with all my heart thank you for helping me and to continue help me. I wish I can give you a hundred Stars if they allowed it. Stay safe and see you in 5 days for another recheck on my wound. Sincerely, Diane Martin

  • Who should get a typhoid vaccine?

Anyone two weeks and older with plans to travel to or live in an area that's at high risk for typhoid, such as South Asia, Latin America and Africa, should receive a typhoid vaccine. If you are planning on traveling from West Haven out-of-country, a typhoid vaccine will be required for entry. You must be vaccinated by injection at least fourteen days before your departure date, or finish your oral vaccination regimen at least a week before your trip.

  • Are video visits available with travel vaccination specialists in West Haven?

While a typhoid vaccine cannot be administered over video, your doctor can evaluate and advise you or your child from your home in West Haven. They can discuss your travel plans, recommend and order necessary vaccinations, and book immunization appointments via telemedicine.

  • How much does a typhoid vaccine cost in West Haven?

Without insurance, a consultation, service fee and the typhoid vaccine doses will typically range from $85 to $300. With preventative insurance, you will end up paying the copay for a consultation and vaccine administration, ranging from $10 to $40. Costs will vary by clinic - book a consultation at a West Haven-area clinic to see how much a typhoid vaccine would cost for you.

  • Is a typhoid vaccine covered by my insurance?

As typhoid vaccines are considered elective, it’s not uncommon that insurance will not cover the cost of the vaccine. However, if your plan includes preventative benefits, the vaccine will usually be covered and you may only need to cover the co-pay out-of-pocket.

  • Are video visits with travel vaccination specialists covered by my insurance?

Telemedicine vaccine consultation coverage will vary depending on your circumstances. Typically, if your insurance will not cover an in-person visit, it won’t cover similar appointments via telehealth. Since the typhoid vaccine is considered elective and in-person visits are not usually covered by medical insurance, it is unlikely video visits with travel vaccination specialists will be covered.
