Short Wait Time

My place of employment uses API and I also use it as my primary personal care. I went to Brownsburg yesterday to urgent care (because API is not open on weekends) (recommended by my virtual online visit as well) and was REFUSED service. I had already tested positive for Covid a week ago after doing a test at home and had some concerns I felt needed a professional’s input on. So I went to API today and also took my fiancé who was showing signs of Covid. They took us both right in together. All the staff from the front desk to the back of this clinic were amazing. (As Always) Tammy is by all means the BEST with a wonderful personality as are the Doctors who are also so friendly and outgoing. Always listening to what you have to say and will always have you smiling about something while there. Tammy’s recommendations are on spot and her shots in the yang are the healing thang…. Two sick people left there today picked up are prescriptions and are finally on the road to recovery. And both tested negative for Covid. And then there’s down to earth Lindsay Huber who also gets a thumbs up and a 10. We were seen and in and out in less than a hour. GREAT PLACE GREAT SERVICE EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL STAFF.

This is the only place I go for covid testing. The clinical staff are ALWAYS very friendly and professional. It’s a wonderful thing to see such exceptional care in the city. I would recommend the Girls School Road location any day! I want to give a special shout-out to the young man who’s collected my last two nasopharyngeal samples. I forget his name - AA with locks in his hair. The VERY BEST in the building! His bedside manner is impeccable. Keep up the great work, young man!

I came for a Covid-19 test. The system you all have in place for Covid testing is confusing and inefficient. I couldn’t find information on your website how to get a test, so I showed up early this morning to be there when you opened. This is my second time coming to you for a test, and last time it was kind of a whoever gets there call in first gets seen first deal. This time, your machine told me to make an appointment online. The website was really hard to get to work. When it finally did work, it told me I made a virtual appointment. I got out of my car (wearing a mask of course) to ask the dr/nurses doing tests if this was working and I was told it works, just keep calling. So I kept calling (more than 30 phone calls) until I reached a live person. Then I was told my “virtual” appointment was the actual appointment and that I should come back at that time. I was in your parking lot for 1.5 hrs trying to figure this all out. The lady next to me said that this was her 3rd unsuccessful attempt at trying to get a test from you guys. I know you all are incredibly busy and the volume of tests is probably insane, but there has to be a less confusing and more efficient way to do these tests. When I came back for my test, everything was pretty much as expected and the staff were very friendly.

I tried this place because I needed a COVID test for eye surgery it was next to my pharmacy and the sign said free COVID test 7days a week. I did the drive through. The young lady was very helpful with the app I had to download and fill out. I didn't pre register but she didn't turn me away. It took me longer to fill out the information then to swab my own nose and put the swab in the tube. I didn't enter the building it was drive threw. I was not charged and was not told there was a change. The signs said free COVID test.

I heard about this center from a coworker and went to it with no appointment lined up, but it was so easy to sign in and get registered as their signs were posted right as you pull in the lot, telling you where to park during the paperwork. Couple other cars in the process when I went on a week day morning, but I was in and out and done within 30 minutes. The two ladies who assisted me were both extremely friendly and explained the actual swabbing and what to do next. Would highly recommend to anyone needing COVID testing.

The gentleman who took my COVID test was extremely gentle with taking samples from my nostrils. There was 0 discomfort and he was talking me through what he was doing, which was awesome! Also, he was very compassionate, friendly, professional, and overall kind! You can tell he loves what he does and cares for his patients. That man deserves all the recognition and a raise! My visit couldn’t have gone better, thank you for such compassionate quality care.

Every single person here is pleasant, and in spite of people being rude and not reading signs, the staff is patient, kind, explains everything reapeatedly without sounding bored or put out. The things these people have to put up with, people-just be nice, wait your turn, and we'll all get through this together. Have been here multiple times this week for Covid testing and every day the procedure has been updated to accommodate the changing Covid landscape and the extraordinary numbers needing to test. Kudos to all. You're doing extraordinary work!

Made an appointment for a Covid test online. Availability for a test time in two hrs. Booked it and submitted paperwork online. Arrived 10 minutes early. Only 7 cars ahead of me. Total time for the rapid and PCR test was 25 minutes. Had results for rapid test within 35 minutes. This was a Sunday afternoon so maybe not a busy day but definitely a great experience and will come back again if needed.

I was so impressed by the efficiency and the friendliness of the staff. They were professional and expedient. They called me so quickly while I was waiting in the car and I did not recognize the phone number, that I assumed that it was a spam call. When I answered rather gruffly the staff very politely explained it they were ready to give my Covid test. I apologized over and over for my gruff rudeness. The staff understood and was extremely friendly. Do you have a great team!

I went for a Covid test. A nurse/tech did the swab, but now I’m back home waiting for a call from the doctor so she can actually order the test, because there were 3 people already in the office waiting to be seen. Not sure what the purpose is of making an appointment (which I did) if walk-ins are seen first. I assume they were walk-ins because I hope your system would not schedule 4 appointments for the same time.

This was my first time I have had the Covid testing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even when she had to repeat instructions for me. Thank you and many safe blessings surround each of you & your families!!! God bless you all!!! I would recommend this for others wanting to get tested. They get you in and out quickly! It was as expected— no cost to me. In and out before my actual appointment time . Booked appointment on line Good bedside manner 👍

Needed a COVID test. I made an appointment the day prior. ***They automatically move your appointment up based on the “line” so make sure you pay attention to where you are on waitlist. They called me on my way there to finish registration. Once she was done I had arrived. So I was told to go to back door. They answered immediately took 2 minutes nurse was super pleasant despite the fact that they were clearly swamped.

The nurse that got my vitals barely spoke to me and continued her conversation with the receptionist as she was taking my vitals. I consider that highly rude. Other than that, it was okay. Thought the “nurse” who opened the door for me and did my Covid test was a teenage boy because he was wearing a black sweatshirt instead of scrubs or anything professional. No one there was professional whatsoever.

I never went inside, so I cannot rate the facility. However, I went for a Covid test, and on the day I went, they called me prior to my appointment time, got all the info needed by the time I pulled up, and a few minutes later, a woman in protective gear came out and took the sample. She was very friendly (and gentle). It was the best Covid test experience I’d had, as I’d been tested twice before at different organizations

This was our first time using this clinic and we will definitely be back as needed for COVID testing. Very quick and easy, extremely friendly and informative staff. I know right now has got to be stressful on those providing and testing in these capacities and I am just so amazed and grateful for the kindness and help provided while getting our 9 year old tested. Appreciate you all!

You must do preregistration online and book an appointment. Amazing fast and friendly customer service. You line up in person to enter through the back door. Very clean. And a lot of alcohol gel and wipes. The swab takes seconds for the PCR Covid test. They explain the procedure. You must pick and answer the phone immediately after so that registration is finished and your results can be sent. You even get to speak to the medical assistant and doctor. They even want your health history and meds you are on. Results take 3-5 days for the PCR test. It has to be sent to California. That is the only inconvenience of PCR but it’s the required test vs rapid test for international travel. This place in my opinion rocks!

I have tried to ask multiple locations about getting a Covid test done so I can go back to work. The west side location was by far the nicest and explaining how there new system works. I called one that was a lot closer but was very rude. Definitely recommend this location! The lady that did my test was amazing and so kind and answered the few questions I had outside in the cold without wanting to rush, I truly appreciate it. Thank you to her, it was at about 730 pm. I should of wrote her name down.

My experience was ok, I took the COVID test for the third time as my son is positive as of today & I work at a prison around inmates who are positive. I am disappointed that I didn’t have my lungs checked during the visit outside in the cold not feeling well to see if anything else could be wrong with my health ( sinus infection, bronchitis, flu etc.). I do appreciate the opportunity to have the test done as to not contaminate others!

Pros: they had numerous open appointments for COVID testing. Cons: after arriving 15 mins before my scheduled appointment time, I still have to wait 30 mins. People who came after me were serviced for COVID testing before me. I had to call the clinic again to remind them. I was told results would be available within 30 mins. I waited an hour and had to call the clinic as I never received the text to access my results.

I was looking for a Covid testing facility with openings , I found this location by word of mouth then online. I scheduled my appointment online, it was easy and fast. I’ve never been to this facility before and I was impressed. The staff was friendly and professional. They remembered my name right the first time which is usually not the case at many of my business interactions. The service was free as posted. I waited less than 5 minutes, check in was fast.thank you!

I’m honestly shocked. I needed a quick COVID test for corporate travel policies and the turnaround and promptness was incredible. Appointment booked last night, paid before I got there online, and had someone out to me in less than 5 minutes. I pulled around back of the building and a medical professional came out in a mask with equipment. I rolled my window down, she swabbed each nose (gently), and she said I’d have email results within the hour likely. 100% worth the $199 fee and immediate quick and respectful service. This was my first COVID test (double vaxxed) and it was quick and easy as could be! Very impressed!

Perrysville COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Perrysville?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Perrysville?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Perrysville-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Perrysville?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Perrysville including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Perrysville?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Perrysville-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Perrysville?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Perrysville are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Perrysville?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Perrysville?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
