Exceptional Medical Care by Armando and the American Family Care Urgent Care Team I am writing this review with great pleasure to express my heartfelt appreciation to the team at American Family Care Urgent Care, and especially to Armando, for the outstanding medical care they provided to my mother during her visit to the urgent care unit. Armando demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism and empathy throughout the process. His skill in using the EKG machine and drawing blood was notable, performing both procedures with such precision and care that my mother felt entirely at ease and secure throughout the process. His ability to communicate clearly and explain each step of the procedure, his patience, and his dedication to my mother's comfort were truly impressive. In addition, I'd like to highlight the overall care we received at the urgent care unit. The team was efficient, compassionate, and highly professional. We felt supported and cared for throughout our stay, which is testament to the culture of excellence they have cultivated at the clinic. I wish to thank Armando and the entire team at American Family Care Urgent Care for their commitment to high-quality healthcare and for their dedication to patients' comfort and wellbeing. It's rare to find a team so dedicated and passionate about their work. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking quality urgent care. Thank you, Armando, and thank you to the American Family Care Urgent Care team for making a difference in my mother's life!

My first experience here. Phlebotomist was running the whole show. She was friendly, professional and efficient. The only negative is that I was not able to find the cost for my blood draw anywhere online or posted within the clinic, so I was a bit shocked at the price.

I was a walk-in patient and got right in. Processing was quick. The rooms are clean, the front office filled with sunlight, very inviting. The care was complete and all of my concerns were heard. The PA, Ann Marie, was very good, I will go back again.

Recent Blood Test Reviews (6)

We went on short notice with an appointment for a Covid Rapid Test. The lady who checked us in was extremely nice very thorough explaining their service and quickly helped us with the necessary forms. We waited in our car until we were notified by text when they were ready for us. We were quickly escorted to the patient room, where 2 very pleasant ladies went through their process, checked our vitals then performed the Covid Test. We waited about 15 minutes for the results. Another person, probably a P.A., came in with our results explained them for us and even checked my blood pressure again! She was also super nice, very knowledgeable and answered questions. Overall we were impressed with the AFC operation! Well done ladies! We will return to them next time we need care!

I have a major fear of blood draws after some not-so-great past experiences. These ladies were so kind and compassionate. They did their job so well but their kindness was even greater the easy draw. It means a lot to be taken such good care of.

The woman who drew my blood was fabulous! She made me feel very comfortable (as I get nervous about needles) and had music I liked on to keep me comfortable. She was fantastic!!!! So happy I chose this location.

Always a great experience, staff all friendly, no pain blood draws. And always get the right information I would recommend this clinic to anyone that wants great health care

Never had to wait to have blood work done and ladies are nice, friendly and good!

Xavier, the tech who drew my blood was great. Didn’t even feel the stick.

Colorado Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in Colorado that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

Blood Test FAQs

  • Where can I get a blood test in Colorado?

In general, blood tests are available throughout Colorado at medical labs, urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care doctor offices, and many local pharmacies. While walk-in appointments are typically available, booking a visit online will reduce your wait time and ensure you have your blood work results sooner.

  • How can I book a blood test in Colorado?

Regardless of the kind of blood test you are seeking, Solv can help you book an appointment. Simply search for labs and healthcare providers within the State of Colorado, filter by the test you want and find a top-rated blood testing location. Be sure to include “blood testing” as the reason for visit.

  • Where can I get blood work after hours in Colorado?

Outside routine work hours, most Colorado labs and primary care offices are closed, however, most of the area’s urgent care and retail clinics are open later than typical business hours and on weekends. Book an after-hours visit to get prompt, no-hassle care and get your blood test results faster.

  • Can I make a same-day appointment for blood work in Colorado?

Same-day and next-day appointments for many blood tests can easily be booked directly through Solv. Simply search for labs and healthcare providers within the State of Colorado, find a lab or draw station, and book the most convenient time for you. Be sure to include “blood work” as your reason for visit.

  • How do I find the best labs for blood testing in Colorado?

Solv gathers ratings, reviews, and other data on labs and healthcare providers across Colorado to ensure the providers meet our high standards. Search for blood work providers, see what previous patients think, and book an appointment with a top-rated lab or clinic today!

  • Who should get a blood test?

Blood tests provide a valuable look at your overall health and blood work should be done at least once a year. They offer a great way to catch illness or disease early on, or see how you are progressing with on-going treatment. Your doctor or healthcare provider typically orders blood tests for you during an annual physical or as necessary for a specific diagnosis. It’s possible to order your own blood tests without a doctor, particularly for things like STD tests or hemoglobin A1c tests.

  • Are video visits available for blood work in Colorado?

While a blood test cannot be performed over video, your doctor can both initially prescribe blood tests using telemedicine, and review results with you virtually.

  • How much does a blood test cost in Colorado?

Without insurance, blood work typically costs between $50 to $1,000, or sometimes more depending on the specific tests and the provider type you are having the tests performed at. At-home tests are available in most areas and could cost substantially less. Book a consultation with a lab testing provider in Colorado today to get more details on the specific blood work you are looking for.

  • How long do blood tests take?

Blood tests can be performed either in-office or performed on samples that are sent to an outside lab. The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
