Dr Ferrara was so attentive and caring. We were visiting from Michigan when my daughter got sick with a sore throat, high fever and signs of being very tired. We are glad to went to this urgent care because after one day of getting the required meds, she is feeling much better!

My 3 year old son was irritable because he did not feel good. The nurse was EXTREMELY rude. Seemed as if she was annoyed by my son who cannot help he does not feel good. Yes it is hard with a toddler but to hand me the 02 monitor because she gives up on getting it, I should have been paid to be the nurse at that point. The physician was very nice and helpful. I won’t be back due to the rudeness of the nurse.

Recent Blood Test Reviews (14)

Prenatal blood work - My veins have always been deep, but I'm also having trouble keeping down fluids to be super hydrated like I usually am before I get blood work. Phlebotomist was extremely friendly and took the blood from my hand instead because she couldn't find a good vein in my arm - a big sigh of relief, as I've had people painfully dig around in my arm with the needle before!

I had a big problem with a test result and I would like to applaud Sherry at the main office *** for going above and beyond and coordinating a new test and expedited service allowing me to obtain a prescription which requires the blood test. Also many thanks to the Beavercreek Medowbridge staff for their expedient service.

Lab appeared understaffed. Waited 30 min with only 2 people ahead. Appeared to be a patient problem ai someone was doing double-duty with check in and blood draw. Gave 5 for bedside manner because she apologized for the wait. Someone left after being told An hour wait with only 6 in the queue.

My phlebotomist, Emma, was wonderful! She was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. My doctors office failed to send my blood order, so she had to call them and walk them through the information she needed to be able to accommodate me. Again, she was wonderful!

The front desk was very helpful, the wait time was quick and the waiting area was clean. All Covid protocols were followed. The blood draw staff were polite and professional. The blood draw was painless. The room clean and sanitary

I was fifth in line for blood draw, but it took less than 10 minutes from start to finish. Excellent care by the technician. She was pleasant, quick, and painless.

The phlebotomists are always excellent. I was astounded when my baby didn't cry for her blood draw. When I had mine I realized why! Didn't feel a thing 👍

Awesome. I had blood work done and I’m very hard to draw from. The staff took care of me and was awesome.

Georgia Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in Georgia that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

  • Who should get a blood test?

Blood tests provide a valuable look at your overall health and blood work should be done at least once a year. They offer a great way to catch illness or disease early on, or see how you are progressing with on-going treatment. Your doctor or healthcare provider typically orders blood tests for you during an annual physical or as necessary for a specific diagnosis. It’s possible to order your own blood tests without a doctor, particularly for things like STD tests or hemoglobin A1c tests.

While a blood test cannot be performed over video, your doctor can both initially prescribe blood tests using telemedicine, and review results with you virtually.

  • How much does a blood test cost in Georgia?

Without insurance, blood work typically costs between $50 to $1,000, or sometimes more depending on the specific tests and the provider type you are having the tests performed at. At-home tests are available in most areas and could cost substantially less. Book a consultation with a lab testing provider in Georgia today to get more details on the specific blood work you are looking for.

  • How long do blood tests take?

Blood tests can be performed either in-office or performed on samples that are sent to an outside lab. The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
