Brenda and her helper were so good with my elderly mother. I always ask for Brenda or Xavier because they are the only people able to draw blood from mother’s tiny veins! The woman at reception desk was helpful and friendly.

I was not impressed at first with the Drs attitude and questions as to why I was requesting the antibody test. After the the tech came to take my blood and had some difficulty, the sr came back in and for whatever reason, his attitude towards me seemed to change. In the end, my visit there was fine, but in the beginning I was made to feel like what I was asking for was foolish. I was told “feelings” don’t matter, it’s about science. Which, yes, there is truth to, but that type of bedside manner is not appropriate in times like these when mental illness is, or should be a huge concern in our society.

I haven’t had blood work in many years due to white coat syndrome and the staff was amazing! Took their time to make me feel comfortable and really cared.

I was at Samaritan hospital for a blood draw. I waited about two minutes. Both nurses we very friendly and personable. I never felt the needle etc. it was over before I knew it. Great place to go!

I despise giving blood, but the team did a great job to make an otherwise miserable experience for me somewhat pleasant. Thanks Emma and to whom was working the front desk!

Staff was friendly and I was taken back to lab right away. Nurse was also very gentle when taking blood! Did not feel it at all! So glad I chose to come to this lab! I did not book appointment. I walked in since a few weeks ago my doctor already had on record that I was to get lab work.

I hate having my blood drawn I never know if my veins will cooperate and fear if multiple sticks. Today was awesome. One stick and 4 tubes later it done!

The RN I saw told me she “hit a blood vessel” so there was some unexpected bleeding involved. She told me my arm will most likely be sore and may bruise but “hopefully not”. This was the first time in 30 years that I’ve heard someone say they hit something after I got vaccinated.

This was a very pleasant visit. I had forgotten my blood pressure medication back home in Oklahoma so I made an appt online. Online appointment was very easy to navigate and answering information about myself and insurance made check in fast and easy. I recommend them to everyone. 5⭐

Everyone was very friendly and the person that drew my blood was amazing! He did an excellent job and I am a very difficult stick but he had no problems at all.

Kelsey was awesome. I have veins that collapse and I appreciated her listening to me explain that and being patient. It is no fun for people to randomly stab me hoping for blood so I really commend her for being great at her job and really listening to me as a patient. Wonderful experience.

I was disappointed this time. Places always have a hard time trying to find a vein, but they do always manage to find one. However, this time they did not try very hard. They found one that didn’t have enough blood in it, but then rather than working harder to find another one they sent me on my way to drink a lot of water and come back next week. I just got the feeling that they were in a hurry to close and didn’t want to take the time to find another good vein. I had drank water the day before even, bit they always have a hard time despite that. As I said, I have had my blood drawn many times in different places, and they always manage to find a vein even if it takes a while. This was frustrating because now I have to take more time off work to come back. I just felt like they didn’t spend enough time to since they wanted to go home.

Only reason I waited a couple minutes was cuz it was lunchtime. Then in and out in no time with barely a pinch on the blood draw. Love that we have the lab and doctors office so conveniently located close to my home.

I always get nervous getting my blood drawn. Mainly because my veins are hard to find. But the staff here know what they are doing and get it on the first try!

I use a cane due to back problems, the ladies took my order for blood work. And she was kind enough to check me in and direct me to the Third room. Extremely kind and efficient. Thank you

I was here for lab work only today. Receptionist was very friendly, as always (Sarah). Phlebotomist was also very friendly and professional. Blood draw was quick. Office clean, as always. I would recommend this practice very highly to anyone looking for a doctor!

Terrific nurse practitioner (or doc?) who took a blood sample and prescribed medication. So thorough and explanatory. I love the clean, modern appearance of this office, particularly the heart-warming poster on the wall of the examining room.

Blood pressure was to high to pass DOT physical. I am going to see PCP to get b/p under control. I retired 8-8-20 I did not really need a DOT physical anyway. Can I get refund on payment. Thanks Jerry Deering ***

I had my blood drawn. There were 5 people ahead of me but the staff worked through them quickly and my wait was not long at all... everything fine.

- Verified patient on 2/12

The phlebotomy technician was absolutely amazing!! She was quick, super friendly, knew what she was doing, kept asking if I was okay, and whenever she could tell I was getting a little antsy or anything she would distract me by making small talk and asking me questions, and best of all she asked which arm I preferred, and actually listened to what I had to say when I told her which area/veins usually work best for getting blood drawn from! I’ve never had a problem whenever needing to get blood work done by her! 10 out of 10 stars.

About Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in the Winfield-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
