I scheduled a time slot because I knew I had the flu and didnโ€™t want to be waiting in the lobby for hours. I scheduled a 6pm and was seen at 7:45 that is my only complaint. I know they were very busy but that was my whole purpose in scheduling a time?

Iโ€™ve been having a sore throat and a low-grade fever the last couple days, and decided to go to AFC Urgent Care to determine what I was sick with. With no appointment, I checked-in and was in the back room within two hours, and walking out around 30 minutes after that with my prescriptions already sent to the pharmacy. The staff were very friendly and attentive to my needs. I never felt like a number or rushed out. Dr. Hull and the young lady who attended to me coming and going out were very kind and professional. Dr. Hull even made a follow-up call after I just left the facility, because she was concerned about my high blood pressure. She added another prescription to my original prescription order to address that concern. Overall I had a very good experience, and highly recommend this provider.

My first visit to Doctor's Care, E. Butler Rd., Mauldin, SC was a good one. The facility is very clean, the staff very professional and the doctor was personable as well as extremely competent. I would recommend this facility to any of my family and acquaintances.

About Celiac (Gluten) Disease Testing Panel

The Celiac Disease Testing Panel is a set of diagnostic tests used to identify Celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten. This panel helps healthcare providers assess the presence of specific antibodies associated with Celiac disease and aids in confirming the diagnosis.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Anderson, South Carolina, and have symptoms suggestive of Celiac disease, such as chronic gastrointestinal issues, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, or skin rashes, Celiac Disease Testing Panel is recommended. Additionally, individuals with a family history of Celiac disease or other autoimmune disorders may benefit from this testing to rule out or confirm the condition.

Tests Included in Celiac Disease Testing Panel

The Celiac Disease Testing Panel typically includes the following tests:

  1. Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody (tTG-IgA): Measures the presence of antibodies produced in response to gluten ingestion.
  2. Endomysial Antibody (EMA-IgA): Detects antibodies directed against the body's own tissues affected by gluten ingestion.
  3. Total Serum IgA: Measures the overall level of immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the blood, which helps ensure accurate antibody test results.

Interpreting the Results

If the Celiac Disease Testing Panel shows elevated levels of tTG-IgA and EMA-IgA antibodies and normal total serum IgA, it indicates a high likelihood of Celiac disease. A positive result may lead to further evaluation, including an endoscopic biopsy of the small intestine to confirm the diagnosis.

Following the Test

If the Celiac Disease Testing Panel confirms Celiac disease, your healthcare provider will discuss dietary modifications to eliminate gluten from your diet. Gluten-free diets are essential for managing Celiac disease and preventing complications related to gluten consumption.

Early detection and proper management of Celiac disease through the Celiac Disease Testing Panel can lead to improved quality of life and prevent long-term health issues associated with gluten ingestion.
