Came in to office with facial swelling due to posion ivy. Seen by APRN quickly after being roomed. Recommended steroid shot and cream due to oral medication reaction with everyday med. Was advised to check blood sugars due to being diabetic. Very knowledgeable and taught appropriate monitoring.

I had been suffering with upper respiratory/ sinus, sore throat, cough for over a week. Couldn’t shake it. A friend recommended this facility. Easy to get in and get scheduled within couple hours. I am so glad to have a go to place. My dr relocated and had no alternative to be seen. Thankful for Baptist urgent care, who is caring to put patience needs a priority.

Amazing staff. I showed up when they were getting ready to leave, with a deep cut to the finger that needed stitching. They were very nice and considerate and reopened their triage and computers to get me checked in. Everyone was caring, friendly and efficient. It was a great experience.

A week of upper respiratory illness that was progressively getting worse led me to make an appointment at this location. I selected a 3:30 appointment online and checked in in person around that time. I was out of the office about a quarter after 7 pm. Yes, it was a very long wait to see the provider despite scheduling and pre-registering for an appointment. Others in the waiting room mentioned they had been waiting two or more hours to see someone. However, I am very aware of the volume of sick people and illnesses circulating and know there were a lot of people who needed to be seen. I also assume there weren't a lot of medical offices open the Day after Thanksgiving. I don’t fault the office workers for the wait times. The front desk staff is always professional and courteous, the waiting room calm and clean, and the provider herself was kind, apologetic, and took the time to listen to my concerns and do everything in her power to help me start feeling better as quickly as possible. I appreciate her going the extra mile for me and suggesting X-rays to suss out anything underlying. Excelling provider, nice staff too. I felt well cared for.

I did not know you could schedule an appointment. Thought it was only walk ins. Accordingly my wait time was 2.5 hours. However, once I saw the clinicians it was a top notch experience.  APRN Angela B??? was just outstanding. She seemed tremendously knowledgeable, explained everything throughly and was patient enough to take all the time needed.

Requested prescription be called in to Krogers on McCain. Prescription was called in to Krogers on JFK, which was a further distance, as I was already not feeling well.

About Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing is a diagnostic test used to detect the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox. Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection characterized by itchy, red spots and blisters all over the body. Chickenpox Testing is important for confirming the diagnosis, especially in cases with atypical symptoms, and for guiding appropriate medical management.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Sheridan, Arkansas, and have symptoms suggestive of chickenpox, such as fever, headache, and a rash that progresses to itchy blisters, Chickenpox Testing is recommended. Testing is also valuable for individuals with a history of exposure to someone with chickenpox to assess their immunity status.

Tests Included in Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing typically involves:

  • VZV IgM Antibody Test: Detects specific antibodies produced early in the course of a chickenpox infection.
  • VZV IgG Antibody Test: Detects antibodies that indicate past infection or immunity to chickenpox.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Chickenpox Testing results involves assessing the presence of VZV-specific antibodies in the blood. Positive results for VZV IgM indicate a recent or active infection, while positive results for VZV IgG indicate immunity due to past infection or vaccination.

Importance of Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing is important for:

  • Confirming the diagnosis of chickenpox
  • Identifying individuals at risk of complications, especially pregnant women, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems
  • Preventing the spread of chickenpox to others
  • Assessing immunity in individuals exposed to the virus for appropriate management

Following the Test

After Chickenpox Testing, healthcare providers discuss the results with individuals and provide guidance on managing the infection and preventing its transmission to others. Vaccination may be recommended for susceptible individuals to prevent future chickenpox infections.

Chickenpox Testing is a valuable tool in Sheridan, Arkansas, to promptly diagnose and manage chickenpox cases, thereby reducing the risk of complications and containing the spread of the virus.
