Scheduling was easy, showed up a bit early so expected to wait a bit. Front staff were great friendly and efficient. Waiting exam room for what felt like quite awhile, but then Travis came in he took his time listened to my issues. He is clearly an advocate of LGBTQ folks, which I belong to. If you need care he makes you feel safe regardless of who you are or identify as.

My doctor is out of office. I called asking if they do a mycotoxin test. The receptionist said yes which I was kind of surprised on how easy it was. I get there tell my symptoms to the PA Jason C. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a health care professional! He told me I shouldn’t be coming to them for this. I said well that’s why I called your front desk and asked questions before I drove 40 minutes here. He said ya they tell us to say yes to everything. So they tell me they can help me. Then I get with the doctor and he verbally belittles me. He was so rude! He said now you know you go to Jiffy lube for an oil exchange right? Why would you come here for this? After about 5 minutes of him talking down to me I told him I didn’t appreciate how he was talking to me. His voice changed and said I’m trying to help you. I said no, no you’re not and walked out. I’m still trying to get my money back for that visit.  I am very hurt and mad!

You all are looking at a lawsuit for this!

Went in, was told that I could be put on a waiting list, and would be notified about 20 minutes prior to show-up time. Got the call. Went immediately to the clinic, was processed in, and got tested for COVID and INFLUENZA. That was an extra! Then, within minutes I saw the dr. Very nice, very knowledgeable. Read my test results for me + got me the meds I need. A very satisfactory profitable appointment.

About Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing is a diagnostic test used to detect the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox. Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection characterized by itchy, red spots and blisters all over the body. Chickenpox Testing is important for confirming the diagnosis, especially in cases with atypical symptoms, and for guiding appropriate medical management.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Blanchard, Idaho, and have symptoms suggestive of chickenpox, such as fever, headache, and a rash that progresses to itchy blisters, Chickenpox Testing is recommended. Testing is also valuable for individuals with a history of exposure to someone with chickenpox to assess their immunity status.

Tests Included in Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing typically involves:

  • VZV IgM Antibody Test: Detects specific antibodies produced early in the course of a chickenpox infection.
  • VZV IgG Antibody Test: Detects antibodies that indicate past infection or immunity to chickenpox.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Chickenpox Testing results involves assessing the presence of VZV-specific antibodies in the blood. Positive results for VZV IgM indicate a recent or active infection, while positive results for VZV IgG indicate immunity due to past infection or vaccination.

Importance of Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing is important for:

  • Confirming the diagnosis of chickenpox
  • Identifying individuals at risk of complications, especially pregnant women, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems
  • Preventing the spread of chickenpox to others
  • Assessing immunity in individuals exposed to the virus for appropriate management

Following the Test

After Chickenpox Testing, healthcare providers discuss the results with individuals and provide guidance on managing the infection and preventing its transmission to others. Vaccination may be recommended for susceptible individuals to prevent future chickenpox infections.

Chickenpox Testing is a valuable tool in Blanchard, Idaho, to promptly diagnose and manage chickenpox cases, thereby reducing the risk of complications and containing the spread of the virus.
