I just moved back to the area in August and have not established a primary care physician yet.  Feeling bad to horrible in a few hours yesterday prompted me to get an appointment.   The facility was clean, all care providers were kind and made me feel like they really and really cared about helping me feel better. They also recognized that because I was sick, I didn’t want to sit around and wait.  Thank you to everyone!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The place was clean and tidy. They even called the next day to check on our furry friend. I would definitely recommend taking your furry animals here.

My main problem was I told them all the medication that I was on & they gave me prescription for a medication that I shouldn't take with my medicines. So it seems like doctor didn't read my chart & wasnt paying attention to what I could actually take. But CVS said that they are supposed to verify my medications & that if there's a problem with the medication then CVS is supposed to catch it. Well they never caught it either. The COVID medicine that I was supposed to get wasn't ready so I went back the next day & the pharmacist told me that I was supposed to get the COVID medicine on the same day that it was prescribed because I was supposed to take it the same day. But it turns out that the doctor prescribed a COVID medicine that cost $1000 & the pharmacist said that the doctor prescribed the wrong Covid medication. She was supposed to prescribe a different COVID medicine. So if you go to Immediate Care on Hickory Lane by Walmart then you need to make sure that they do their job.

About Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing is a diagnostic test used to detect the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox. Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection characterized by itchy, red spots and blisters all over the body. Chickenpox Testing is important for confirming the diagnosis, especially in cases with atypical symptoms, and for guiding appropriate medical management.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Whitestown, Indiana, and have symptoms suggestive of chickenpox, such as fever, headache, and a rash that progresses to itchy blisters, Chickenpox Testing is recommended. Testing is also valuable for individuals with a history of exposure to someone with chickenpox to assess their immunity status.

Tests Included in Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing typically involves:

  • VZV IgM Antibody Test: Detects specific antibodies produced early in the course of a chickenpox infection.
  • VZV IgG Antibody Test: Detects antibodies that indicate past infection or immunity to chickenpox.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Chickenpox Testing results involves assessing the presence of VZV-specific antibodies in the blood. Positive results for VZV IgM indicate a recent or active infection, while positive results for VZV IgG indicate immunity due to past infection or vaccination.

Importance of Chickenpox Testing

Chickenpox Testing is important for:

  • Confirming the diagnosis of chickenpox
  • Identifying individuals at risk of complications, especially pregnant women, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems
  • Preventing the spread of chickenpox to others
  • Assessing immunity in individuals exposed to the virus for appropriate management

Following the Test

After Chickenpox Testing, healthcare providers discuss the results with individuals and provide guidance on managing the infection and preventing its transmission to others. Vaccination may be recommended for susceptible individuals to prevent future chickenpox infections.

Chickenpox Testing is a valuable tool in Whitestown, Indiana, to promptly diagnose and manage chickenpox cases, thereby reducing the risk of complications and containing the spread of the virus.
