I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Labcorp for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I used Medstat when my Doctor was on vacation and left no replacement option. 😡 I had a good experience. Staff was thorough, tests were ordered, result was just as nurse had suspected. Would not hesitate to use again them, but would hope that in the future, Provident Family Healthcare Drs, would cover for each other.

The care we got for my friend yesterday could not have been better. Everyone, from registration to PA to Xray was wonderfully kind. Twice the staff expressed sympathy that my friend had hurt his leg in an accident. They had everything--Xray (read within 15 minutes), no waiting (as opposed to 5 hour wait at another walk in clinic), no hassle with paperwork (accepted my friend even though he had no ID). I will never again go to a different walk in clinic. I will tell everyone about this clinic and the care my friend received. Great job folks!

Overview of STD Testing in Wabash

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or are in a new relationship. It's also recommended for those who have had unprotected sex or have been notified by a partner of a recent STD diagnosis. Those who engage in risky behaviors such as drug use, particularly intravenous, are also advised to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial in maintaining not only your health, but also the health of your partner(s). Many STDs do not show symptoms, meaning you could be infected and unknowingly pass it onto others. Early detection through testing can lead to quicker treatment, reducing the risk of complications. Regular testing can also prevent the spread of these diseases, leading to a healthier community.

Your primary care provider can also conduct STD testing. If you have a longstanding relationship with your provider, it might be a comfortable environment for you to discuss your concerns and get tested.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also options for free STD testing in Wabash, particularly at community health centers. However, it's important to note that while these services are free, there might be longer wait times due to high demand.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing is another available option. This involves ordering a test online, collecting a sample at home, and then sending it back to a lab for analysis. This option offers privacy and convenience, but it's important to ensure the test is from a reputable provider.

This trend aligns with national data showing an increase in STDs across the country. Comparatively, nearby counties such as Bullitt County and Grant County have also reported an increase in STD cases.

Risk factors related to STDs in Wabash

Risk factors for STDs in Wabash are similar to those in other areas. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and drug use.
