I know it isn't easy by how many people filled up the lobby In 10 minutes. Thanks again!

ZERO REVIEW!! Normally I don’t give bad reviews but today I will. My appointment was at list 2hrs in advance. Completed all my paperwork online and I was all set. I even arrived 5min early incase I needed to signed anything else. I waiting in the office for at list 40 minutes, I noticed 3ppl where called before me. I thought maybe it was taking longer to be call because my appointment was different and it simply wasn’t a COVID-19 test. I asked the front office what’s taking so long. They really didn’t have a answer to give me, final they tell me that they simply didn’t write my name in their check list. I was so upset for how unprofessional this urgent care really cares for people. To the next person be prepared to wait 40 minutes before being call even when they tell you is just a few minutes. Then expect to wait another 40 minutes in the room before they finally give a medication prescription.

I arrived and was told there would be at least an hour wait was that ok. Computers were down I was ok with that circumstance. After about 45 minutes an emergency patient came to the office. He was taken to an examiner room immediately. Again I was ok with that. If it were me I would like the same treatment. Once I was in an examine room and vitals were taken by the RN I waited for about a 45 minute for the Dr to come in. Both the Dr and the RN apologized that I had such a long wait. I think they were doing what an urgent care office is all about. I would go back to that office with no reservation. Wonderful care with sincere kindness

Had to stop in as I had been in St. Louis, fell down some concrete stairs and regular Tylenol and muscle relaxer were not helping my headache. I had tried to make a follow up with my physician but her opening was at 1:00 pm and we couldn’t make that time. Her nurse told me to go to an urgent care facility or ER. The scheduling system allows you to self- schedule, very easy to use and reschedule appointment, gives you directions, and tells you how long you wait time is. Mine was not long at all, no one before me.

I’m from Kansas City and happened to be in Chicago visiting a relative. During my stay, I had received the news that several of my co-workers had tested positive for COVID. I found Family Urgent Care through Solv. I received 2 COVID tests through them during my quarantine and my wait time was next to nothing in both cases. The staff was friendly and in both instances I received phone calls as to my results. The doctor was very informative and was able to answer all of my questions. I highly recommend them!

Dr Abraham expected immediate responses when I couldn’t think due to severe shaking. He listened to me only part of the time. I was told I had a UTI when there, but at no time on the call back regarding my blood tests was I told I had a kidney infection. A 2nd medication was added but my urologist said it was not needed. Only when I went to my primary care was I told the kidneys were infected. I was disappointed in my care for the first time at urgent care.

This is our second visit at AFC Urgent care. I gladly came back because all of the staff are very friendly, professional, and caring towards their patients and guardian’s. This Urgent care is always very clean, organized and simple. I booked an appointment and when I arrived I only waited a minute or two before we were seen. I would definitely recommend this Urgent care to any families. It’s easy to book an appointment online or over the phone. Thank you all!

Dr. Stan Allen is always the most knowledgeable, gracious and caring physician. He makes me feel so comfortable and I know whenever I need anything from urgent care, no matter how big or small the issue, I can count on him. He takes great care in listening and explaining as well discussing the efficacy and side effects of any medications he may order. I feel so lucky to have him available at the Sherman Urgent Care!

My first time to visit Springfield Clinic's Urgent Care facility. No one likes to go to the doctor but when you need to this clinic would be my recommendation. From booking an appointment online, to checking in, being evaluated and a trip to x-ray, the experience was a package deal of professionalism mixed with a friendly, caring staff. I will return if I have to, hoping that I won't. Thank you!

I ended up having to use the urgent care after I waited for two and a half hours for my primary Dr at Springfield Clinic to return my call, just to tell me that they couldn’t see me. I’m furious with him and told him to find me a new Dr. Which actually I haven’t gotten to see my Dr in over 2 yrs. Just his Nurse Practitioner.

Went in today to urgent care, had Dr. Abraham, he was very nice, patient, and informational. The only issue was that the location was hard to find since it had moved. It took awhile to find where the new location was due to the sign being small, and then the directions were not clear, and we had to drive around for a bit before finding the new location.

I was beyond satisfied with my experience at Kids Urgent Care. The space is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The entire medical team was beyond friendly, respectful, patient and empathetic. Dr Abdullah was amazing! She took her time, explained everything so well and made us feel confident in her care. I will definitely return time and time again. Thank you to the whole team. You are appreciated!

It was nice to be able to make an appointment and not wait around to be seen. I didn't see any other patients at that hour, probably because it was the last appointment of the day. It's good to know they are open later than most urgent care facilities. The staff and nurse were very nice and the facilities were modern and clean.

I was really worried after I read some terrible reviews. People said how rude staff was. Well let me tell you, everyone from the moment I walked in the door, from the receptionist, nurse took my vitals, person who swabbed me for covid test, and doctor came in with results, were kind, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend AFC Urgent Care

My visit to Springfield Clinic urgent Care was a very good experience! Although, Initially I was very nervous about the visit but the kind doctor assured me that she would do all that she could to help me and she put my mind at ease. She even call another doctor's office to see if they would give me farther assistance. Thank you

When I arrived I was told it could be up to a 2 hour wait due to scheduled appointments and walk in traffic. I was seen by Esperanza Roman in about 30 minutes. She was terrific, very friendly and didn’t make me cry. If you are in need of urgent care, you will be in very good hands at Fox Valley UC.

Great experience! Had no wait time at all! Nurse and NP were very thorough and friendly! NP Beth put my mind at ease from worrying. Will highly recommend Urgent Care on Wabash to my family and friends!! It's so reassuring to know that I have such a caring place as Urgent Care on Wabash to go to when needed!

We went for an urgent care need because of favorable Yelp reviews. I went in with significant abdominal pain and was seen after filling out a ton of paperwork. Was seen within 15 min and both Dr Anita and MA Lauryn were so terrific that we shall be switching to their practice for my first primary care.

Molly welcomed me to the storefront and was pleasant and friendly. The registration process was quick and easy to complete, using a QR code and my cell phone. Since they are only conducting COVID-19 testing, you can walk-in without waiting behind patients at an Urgent Care or "express" clinic. I recommend this site for COVID-19 testing!

Dr Abdullah is absolutely the best. She is beyond compassionate and exceptionally thorough. We always have such a wonderful experience at Kids Urgent Care- thank you for being so toddler/kid-centered and for putting both my son and I at ease with your kindness, patience, education, and time. We absolutely adore the Kids Urgent Care Team!!

Everyone is very professional yet made us feel welcomed and our problem as very important. The Doctor was nice and explained things quite well. The X-ray man was so friendly that my husband didn’t feel uneasy at all. Highly recommend Urgent Care to whoever has a problem and wants it seen right away.

Urgent Care in Illinois

According to a recent report, Illinois has a 33 percent poverty rate with 22 percent of children living in poverty. While this creates many social strains, it also has an impact on how people use and misuse the healthcare system. Higher poverty rates are closely associated with unnecessary emergency room visits, leading to more expensive services and overpopulated hospitals.

Illinois Healthcare Laws

While many hope that new healthcare laws will give patients better access to general physicians and urgent care centers, some research shows increasing the number of Medicaid recipients could actually cause more people to visit hospital ERs. The Illinois Policy Institute shows that Medicaid recipients use the ER for preventable conditions about three times as often as people without any insurance.

Over 35 percent of primary care physicians in Illinois do not accept Medicaid. Two-thirds of specialists won't even give appointments to people using Medicaid. With new healthcare laws expanding Medicaid significantly, this situation will further exacerbate the problem of unnecessary ER visits.

Urgent Care in Illinois

Because urgent care centers in Illinois are lower in cost that ERs and require cash payment or co-payment at the time of service, they offer a great alternative for immediate or preventative care for people wishing to avoid hospitals and who have the ability to pay for the services they consume.

Walk-in Clinics in Illinois

Urgent care centers aren’t the only alternative to preventative ER visits or strained physician offices, however. There are a variety of Illinoi walk-in clinics able to see patients for a variety of non-emergent illnesses and injuries, as well as preventative care and immunizations. Specifically, retail clinics, such as those operating within big-box retailers like Walmart or Target or pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS, offer great access points for patients.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Illinois cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Illinois or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Illinois urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Illinois are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Illinois take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Illinois urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • How do I book an appointment online with an urgent care in Illinois?

Solv allows Illinois residents and visitors to book urgent care visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

  • How can I find an urgent care in Illinois who takes my insurance?

Virtual urgent care visits are generally booked online whether in advance or on-demand. Clinics that do offer virtual care have a video icon on their profiles.

  • What is the best urgent care center in Illinois?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Illinois, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. For some consumers, that could mean the closest location whereas other people may prioritize patient reviews, service costs, availability, or whether or not the provider accepts their insurance. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
